While walking to her boyfriend’s house, Sakura decided that the whole dating scene wasn’t what she had always dreamed, that it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. It was just recently that she had decided that if she couldn’t date Sasuke, she would date the next closest thing to him.
That closest thing, or rather person, happened to be Naruto.
Not that it was terrible, seeing that she had long gotten over her Narutophobia. They decidedly dated on and off, never quite staying together for more than a few weeks. It just didn’t work out that way between them.
She had also decided that Naruto was normal, seeing that she used to think of him as a drama queen thinks of garbage; not at all. But of course, she thought, smiling prettily, this was in the beginning of their relationship.
But sometimes she still wondered about him. About why on their odd dates Sasuke just happened to show up when he normally avoided Naruto like the plague unleashed. That was always strange, but still, it was a few moments with Sasuke.
When she reached Naruto’s apartment, all train of thought stopped and Sakura knocked on his door loudly, mainly because he never answered unless you banged loudly or broke the door down.
“Jus’ a sec Sakura!” Came a yell from inside.
Sakura rolled her eyes in exasperation and banged her head on the door, leaving it there, growling under her breath, “Naruto, baka.”
In a minute or so the door flew open and Sakura and fell into her toweled boyfriend’s arms. She looked up at him, his blonde hair dark from the water in it, one of his hands holding the towel up. He smiled, “Let me put some clothes on.”
Sakura nodded, watching his retreating back as he went into his room, flinging his towel off, emptying his dresser for clothes. She walked into his kitchen, rummaging through his things until one shiny thing caught her eye; a shiny black cell phone.
Sakura frowned, her brows furrowing. “Naruto,” she called out, “why is Sasuke’s phone here?”
Naruto appeared in the doorway, pulling his shirt on. Did his face seem unusually pale? Sakura couldn’t decide. She shrugged it off. “Let’s take this over to his house. I’m sure he needs it.”
Naruto nodded slowly, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. They both set off towards their teammate’s house. Upon arrival, Sakura noticed Naruto’s increasing tension. She looked at him, “What’s wrong?”
He gave her a fake smile and replied with a phony, “Nothing.”
She scoffed and hardly noticed when Naruto took out a house key and opened the door to the Uchiha’s house. Naruto seemed even more nervous. “K, let’s just leave the phone and go.”
“Go where?”
Naruto stiffened at the sound of the cold voice. Sakura brightened. “Sasuke, we were just bringing your cell phone over. You left it at Naruto’s house.”
Sasuke frowned and looked at Naruto with a strange look on his face. He seemed to shrug it off before saying, “Where ever you guys are going, I’ll come with. Sakura, can you go in my room and get my phone case? I need to talk to Naruto.”
Sakura nodded, heading off towards his room. He called out, “The second room on the right, and the case should be somewhere by the bed.”
She nodded and looked around his room, listening to the two boys muffled voices. The case wasn’t on the dresser by the bed, nor was it on the bed. She smiled; maybe it was under the bed.
She crouched down and reached her hand underneath, feeling for something, anything. What she pulled out wasn’t a phone case, or anything of the sort. She frowned, a strange thought enlightening her.
In the waiting room of the Uchiha house, both boys heard the pink haired girls shout of anger, “NARUTO! Why are your boxers under Sasuke’s bed?”
Naruto paled and made for the door. Sasuke smirked and shrugged his shoulders, watching as the girl was a blur out the door after her boyfriend.
He shut the door behind scorned girl, muttering, “Busted.”
