Title: Reasons

Summary: Four short drabbles sighting the reasons why the bad guys of the SOTL did what they did.

She once asked me if I meant to kill them – the Queen, the King and Jon. Of course I did, they were in the way. The throne was my obsession. My plan had been perfect. I was not. Squire Alan had been underestimated.

I am Roger, Duke of Conte. And if I couldn’t have it, no one would.

I had to be the best. It was my only goal. It was my reason for life. Treason was only a means.

I am Sir Alexander of Tirragen. No one could stop me, not even her.

I lied, seduced, and committed treason. I went against all I had been taught. They ask me why and I tell them, “Because he asked.”

I am Delia of Eldorne. Only for him.

When my lord asked me to be his squire, I had been thrilled. I had idolized him since I was a page. So I said yes. I had not realized what that one answer would mean. I never meant to hurt anyone.

I am Squire Henrim. Guilty by association.

Author’s Note: I hope you enjoyed it! This is my first piece of published fanfiction in a long while (I deleted the other one). I would appreciate some consecutive criticism.
