Ok, this Yu-gi-oh fic is not mine. All characters, names, EVERYTHING NOT MINE. Maybe there be some changes and some twists> Its just sad to see a good fic to suddenly disappear, so once again I’m sticking fic down just so someone ... or anyone can enjoy. Do pardon me for any and all grammar mistakes … well … because I am definitely bad at literature.
Yu-Gi-Oh GX Crystal: Union Master
Chapter 1: Initiation.
High up in the skies light shined on the little town of Twilight City. For as the sun blazed, two figures can be seen flying down the streets. As point of views switched to the two figures, one can easily interoperate they were both girls.
One of them is Magica Crystal, age 14. She was 5'8 tall, slim slender build with black hair down to her upper back, deep black eyes, and a pure passion for dueling. She was roughly dressed in a peach colored parka and short shorts, along with thin sliver bracelets on her right arm and on the other a Kaiba corp edition duel disc. She dreamt to be the best duelist, better than Yugi Mutou and Judai Yuki. Both of which is the fuel of her burning spirit.
Mutou Yugi without any doubt is called the world best duelist hence given the title ‘Duel King’. Wielder of the God Cards and duelist among duelist to all, this champion still now resides in the city of Dominos. And but only a couple of years ago, another new duelist caught her soul. He was Yuki Judai, it was the day when Duel Academy Japan dueled with the Duel Academy Moscow. Within the screen the burning red duelist has stolen the girl’s heart with his shimmering heroes, bringing victory unto his school.
The other girl was Sora Kingdom, age 14. This maiden on the other hand was 5’7 tall, her build rather child like, mid short brownish hair and strangely also same brown eyes. Unlike her running partner her expression spells more, innocent; like she is satisfied just following her friend to the end. She on the hand was more well dress, as she wore a red one piece with a white jacket with black linings. Around her neck was a crown shape necklace and on her left arm, yes; a duel disc.
And best friend they are for as long as any person who knows this pair, they have all ways been together. Though Sora was not much of a duel monster fan like Crystal, but her friendship with her was enough to bring her into the world of dueling.
Crystal was running as fast as she could, along with Sora behind her trying make it to Kaiba Corps Duel Dome. They had passed the written entrance exams. Crystal spend the whole night studying for the exam, however it was the same reason she overslept on the day of the actual exam. It was a godsend for Crystal when Sora who just so happen to be drinking a soft drink and threw her leftover ice through her bed room window. And landed onto her face … otherwise Sora would have left her alone to sleep the day off.
“Come on Crystal, slow down …” puffed Sora losing speed and breathing hard. “We’re going to make it with plenty of time … I made sure in spite of your ‘condition’ so we will …”
“Yeah, but I want to get in Duel Academy now,” replied Crystal acting like a child in a candy shop. Waltzing through as she dashed towards her destination.
They reached the dome ten minutes later, like any dome of Kaiba corp; there standing waiting for all duelist was the infamous Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Both Crystal and Sora just zipped pass the monument and headed directly into the building.
As they walked down the halls towards the dueling field, the two girls were completely stressed out as they anticipated they atmosphere of the ring. The moment they opened the doors to the field, they saw, tens of thousands of audiences cheering as the heated battle between all duelists continued for their goal of getting into the Duel Academy.
“Woo … Awesome,” said Crystal awing as she began looking around in the large crowd of people cheering. “Will I get to duel in front of all of these people? Gee … I can’t WAIT!”
“Yeah well, see ya,” said Sora sighing dully as she turn away towards the opposite direction.
“Huh? Wait, where are you going Sora!” Crystal called out to her not wanting to be alone.
“To duel ... I know, you know you can pass this duel hands down. So I mind as well get ‘my’ face on and pass this, otherwise we won’t meet at Duel Academy, Right?” said Sora giving her childhood friend a thumbs up before walking off.
Crystal smiled a little as she sees Sora leave. Look forward to see her best friend soon, she turned back to the duels. It was in a section where about four attendees were going at the same time. But then a spark broke out in her head when she remembered; only fifty persons would be chosen to enter the Duel Academy. Then Crystal saw a hidden door under the floor as it rise with Sora on it.
“GO SORA!” Crystal shouted waving her arms cheering. But she didn’t hear her, apart from the crowds of people cheering at the same time. There is also fact that, Sora is now very nervous and is now summoning all her courage just standing on the stage today. Knowing that, Crystal slowly withdrew her arms and lightly smiled of her success.
“Number 10 Musica Crystal, please report to Arena 4 for your entrance exam,” bellowed the speaker with the voice of the announcer.
Smiling like she has just been reborn, Crystal ran to her designation walking down a flight of stairs into a dark room. As she reached a platform underground and it slowly rise up. The ceiling soon opened and she was brought up onto the arena. Crystal put her deck into her duel disk and activated it.
As soon as Crystal stood on the field, she saw Sora leaving her field. ‘That fast? O well I have to ask later if she won or not’ she thought as she would have to find out later. When looked back to her opponents side of the field, her examiner appeared on the opposite side of the arena. He had a strong solid build and very short hair facing to the back, looking particularly old. He was clad in the usually blue outfit all examiners were all wearing, but the only difference was this examiner chose to cover his face up to his mouth with his coat and wore sunglasses to cover his eyes. Plus, specially equipped on his attire was the well know duel coat which all officials uses.
“Welcome duelist, my name is Auron, Auron Steinbeck. I will now test you to see if you are worthy to be in the prestigious Duel Academy ISLAND.”
Suddenly, to facing an official; Crystal’s burning spirit was suddenly put out as she tries be proper and pay her respect to her senior. “RIGHT … I mean … YES SIR,” replied Crystal standing straight and stiff like a soldier.
“Ha, ha, ha … There is no need for that. You can relax.” said Auron smiling a little and slightly shaking his head to Crystal trying to loosen her a bit. Yet somehow it worked, Crystal began letting down her shoulders and started breathing normally. “Good, I see you are good now … so, shall we?” Auron gracefully questioned Crystal as he gently tabbed the sensor of his duel coat. Crystal replied, as she widen her stance to duel.
“DUEL!” they shouted in unison and drew their first five cards. Both Lifepoints raising to 8000
“Allow to beginning this duel.” said Auron pulling the top card from his deck. “I summon monster Dream Swordsman (1500/1900/earth/warrior/effect) in attack mode.” In front of Auron emerged a human sized monster, completely clad in a blood red hooded coat. It face remains unseen as it bears a brown shoulder armor on its left side and holds a huge single edge broad sword on its shoulder with its right hand.
“Then I place a card face down. And end my turn. Come, let’s see what you got.”
“Right, DRAW” Crystal said as she swiftly slides a card from the top of her deck. “Graceful Charity! Draw three cards, drop two into the grave.” Immediately three cards were drawn from her deck and slit two cards into the slot know to be the graveyard of the duel disc.
“I summon X-Head Cannon (1800/1500) in attack mode to attack Dream Swordsman.”
The blue machine with yellow linings made it’s entrance and fire its two cannons fire blasts at the red warrior exploding in a bright flame of fury. The successful attack reduced Auron’s lifepoints to 7700.
Auron chuckled a little before asking “Are you always this naïve or do you have no fear of your opponent?”
Crystal looked a bit puzzled over Auron’s remark as she stares cautiously at her opponent.
“You fell for my trap, activate Life of a Dream. When a monster with ‘Dream’ in it’s name is destroyed on field I get to summon another Dream monster from hand. I summon another Dream Swordsman from my hand.” he took a card from his hand and placed it on the field.
“Plus it is optional for me to discard one card from my hand to allow me to drain up to 1300 of my lifepoints and add it to my re-summoned dream monster” Auron slides one card into his grave and pointed at his warrior as lifepoints went to 6400, “Now, my new Dream Swordsman‘s attack is now 2800.”
“Wow… what counter …” said Crystal awing wondrously. “I place two cards face down and end my turn. Your move.”
“Right …” said Auron emotionless drawing a card from his deck. “I activate Heavy Storm, clearing all magic trap cards on both feilds”
“No,” Crystal gasped. All of her cards on the field would be destroyed. And that they were as a huge hurricane came from above them and destroyed her cover cards. Her spirit was not broken yet for she knows that she still have a monster on field to block him. But before she could relax, a word from her opponent pulled her attention back to him.
“Girl, I know what are you thinking … but before you think any further, let explain Dream Swordsman’s effect. This monster is able to attack one more time if it is successful in destroying an opponent’s monster.” As words of her examiner reached her, Crystal’s sights switched to the red clad monster. Her hands became ice cold, for she knows; she is defenseless.
The red warrior waved its giant sword into Crystal’s machine smashing it to piece. Then went in close and chopped Crystal, bringing her LP to 4200. “I set one card face down … turn end …” Auron adjusted his sunglasses before ending his turn afterwards.
“I knew I was going to get a challenge ... but how I am dueling you … I’m having second thoughts …” Crystal started lowering her head, scared of face her opponent.
Suddenly a shrilled laughter from Auron could be heard before her, as Crystal once again raised her head to her opponent and scorns at him. “Ha, ha, ha … this is a mere pallor trick compare to the many wonders in the Duel Academy. But, hear me … if you really want you beat me … you can.” The last two words took Crystal by surprise as her expression changed from hate to puzzled.
“I have read the report about you, Miss Musica. You past time: duel monsters, You favorite idol: Yugi Mutou and Judai Yuki, What you want to be when you grow up: The first duel queen of Duel Monsters ….
Don’t think that you are the only one feeling this torture, many duelist fall … but nevertheless the last one to ever win in the end, is the one that never gives up … now stand!” Auron shouted at Crystal, once again driving her spirit to duel.
“Okay … my turn! DRAW!” shouted Crystal pulling hard on her deck. “I play Pot of Greed which makes me draw two more cards. Next I play Premature Burial, at the cost off 800 life point I revive X-Head Cannon.”
From below the ground her cannon creature reappeared as it burst out from the ground. “Then I play Frontline Base which allows me special summon a Union Monster after my initial normal summon. First I choose to normal summon Y-Dragon Head (1500/1600). Then I special summon Z-Metal Tank (1500/1300).”
“X, Y, and Z. That means ...” said Auron deeply gazing at the tri colored monsters.
“Your correct meet my burning mecha spirit!” screams Crystal cheerfully as her three machines transformed into XYZ-Dragon Cannon (2800/2600). “By it’s effect I can discard a card from my hand and destroy one of your cards.” Crystal puts the last card in her hand in the grave.
The three part machine brought forth it’s cannons and fired on Dream Swordsman, destroying it. Auron remains emotionless as he watches the smoke clears. But to his surprise, even his cover card was missing. “What happened to my cover card? If you used that last card to activate XYZ’s effect to destroy Dream Swordsman, where is my cover card and why do you still have one card in your hand?” Auron flips his glasses up and looked Crystal.
“He, he, he … in my hand … is … Night Assailant (200/500)!” Crystal cheerfully shows the card in her hand to her opponent. “When this card enters the grave, it allows me bring back another flip effect monster from my grave.”
“A flip effect monster … an infinite discard combo …” Auron mumbled as he began picturing the logic in Crystal’s mind.
“Yeah, it just so happens that Night Assailant is also a flip monster … and during the first turn when I use Graceful Charity, one of the cards I dropped is also … Night Assailant!”
Crystal pulled another of her same monster from her grave and showed it to her examiner, before commencing her attack. “Now XYZ-Dragon Cannon, attack his lifepoints directly.”
The machine brought forth all it’s cannons again and shot at the examiner with burst of beams. Auron braced himself from the blow while his lifepoints went down to 3600. “End turn …” said Crystal with a deep impression of Auron before bursting off into tears, “Wo-oh yeah! I rule!” Crystal shouted happily as she jumping around like a child again.
As Auron began standing straight, he clapped his hands towards the overjoyed girl. Crystal victory dance stopped as she faced her opponent again. “Good … good … this is the kind of attitude I expect from student of Duel Academy … my turn.” he commented before he drew his next card.
“Magic Smashing Ground. Destroy the monster with the highest defense …” Auron flipped open his killer card.
But before Crystal’s monster break, she quickly lets loose her command. “Activate effect, Emergency Separation! When this trap card is dropped into the grave, I can use its effect once to separate a Unison Fusion Monster as soon as they are destroyed by any effect! Return, X-Head Cannon! Y-Dragon Head! Z-Metal Tank!”
As she stated, at the moment her unison mecha exploded into nothingness. Once again, her tri color machine army returns to the field.
“Good … however futile … I remove three of my Dream Swordsman’s from my graveyard…” Auron continued as he reached into his grave, pulled out the three same monsters within his duel coat.
‘Three?’ the word flashed in Crystals mind.
“To tribute summon, Anima Spirit Yojimbo (3000/1900/earth/warrior/effect)!”
As the field started distorting, a cherry blossom tree manifested behind Auron. Crystal’s eyes began to widen as the pinkish petals of the majestic tree rain down the field. Then like a ghost, a figure started emerging from behind the shadows. As it slowly paces forward it slowly reveals its features. It look samurai of a sort as it wore extremely huge and highly reddish decorated armor covering its upper body and a purplish robe underneath covering up to its ankles. In addition it also had a wide straw hat like build over its head that almost covers it Japanese ghost masked face.
“Yojimbo … ?” Crystal mumbled as she glared at Auron’s monster, an uneasy feeling began creeping up in her spine.
“By discarding two cards from the top my deck, Yojimbo’s effect is to be able to attack all monsters on at once,” Auron stated before sliding two cards into his grave.
The monster wisely drew its sword samurai like and readies it blade. And all Crystal could do was just watches the tragedy unveil, with one strong fell swoop from its blade, all three of her machines were sliced in half altogether and the remaining shockwave flew through hitting her causing her to drop to her knees.
Crystals LP is reduced to 0000. Auron the examiner won the duel. As Crystal stood in the misted of the floating virtual dusts, somehow she is able to put up a satisfy smile to her opponent. “Good duel …” she said sadly trying hard to hold back her tears.
“Good duel … And congratulations, welcome to Duel Academy,” said Auron bowing in respect.
“But … didn’t I lose?” Crystal asked rubbing her eyes of tears.
Slowly raising his hand to the unreal petals, one almost fell unto Auron’s palm when he grabbed it. But when he opens his grip, there was nothing. Sighing, yet smiling a little at his fallen opponent, “ … Your duel is much like a beautiful bud of a flower, it’ll be a pity not to see it bloom. You have my recommendation as the vice principle of the Duel Academy.”
“V-v-v…vice principle?” Crystal shouted and pointing at Auron, her expression now more shock than sad.
“I await your blossoming one day, to even make all the cherry trees in Japan jealous.” Stated Auron as he turned away into his vanishing cherry blossom tree and returning to the entrance.
“Th-than-THANK YOU!”
Crystal once again screamed on the top of her lungs as she danced around on the field.
However, on the top of the stairs were three elite duelists from Duel Academy who had watched Crystals duel. Stalking her every move, within the shadows. Though the shadows covered their faces, but their uniform white uniform with blue lining gave them away. One was a red head, another had black, with a blond in the middle.
“There is many pretty good duelist around don’t you think Namine?” said a red head to the blonde girl.
“Not really, these tests get easier every year,” said the blonde smiling. “But, that girl in the parka does intrigue me. We will see what happens in the near future.”
