Detective Conan one-shot of Shinchi and Ran. I wonder if someone has done something exactly like this already, but I hope you all like it.

As he tried to fall asleep, he thought about it. Should he leave, disappear seemingly out of nowhere, and call her from some random telephone booth? No, he never liked doing it, but he did it for her sake.
Her eyes were tearful, sad, whenever the case with Shinichi came up. When he called her, he could sense, hear, and feel the tears well up in Ran's eyes whenever she realized that it was Shinichi who had called, saying hello. He let her hear his voice so she wouldn't worry about him being in some danger.
"Shinichi where are you!" She always asked, not even a second into the phone call. And, again, every single time, he heard and felt the tears while he was silent for a second to allow himself a small smile.
"I'm far away, working on a case," He always said, using his little red bowtie to imitate his real, teenage voice, giving the same answer, the same excuse, he always gave her. He laughed a little sometimes, getting an angry shout in response, until he changed the subject with something normal. Sometimes it didn't work.
"Shinichi, please, come home!" She begged, shouting in his ear, getting a reply that he would be back soon.
'I'm sorry Ran,' he thought to himself, sighing as he turned in his spot, deciding not to leave, that he would do it some other night. 'I'll give her time; I don't like making her cry.'
Conan closed his eye with another sigh and tried to fall asleep, until he heard a voice in the other room and crying. He sat up curiously, looking at the direction of the door which led to Ran's father's office. Putting on his glasses, a habit that grew on him, he stood up and walked to open the door and walk into the other room, finding Ran sitting near the windows, looking out into the night as if looking for something, her eyes full of tears that never stopped. There, he felt a pain in his chest, no, his heart, watching the site of Ran crying. A pain of guilt, and he knew she was crying for him as his name slipped through her lips, her voice soft yet broken. And he stood there, unable to do anything but look at the floor, his whole body feeling strange.
'Why?' He thought, his eyes narrowing and his fists clenched, 'Why do I do this to her, damn it?'
"Conan," A soft voice called, and he looked up. Ran was looking at him, her dark eyes glittering from her tears as the street lights from out the window shone on her. The thought that she was so beautiful passed little Conan's mind, or was it Shinichi? She smiled, despite the tears that still fell through her cheeks, "Why are you awake? It's late."
"I…" He hesitated, his blue eyes falling to the floor. He suddenly heard her laugh a little, which surprised and forced him to look up at her again.
"You're worried about me, aren't you?" She asked, wiping away her tears as she smiled thought they still didn't stop or disappear. "I'm sitting here crying like something's wrong, I'm sorry."
"No," Conan nearly shouted, but remembered that others were sleeping and it came as a harsh whisper. He walked to stand at Ran's side and he took her hand, "You're crying because of him, the one that calls sometimes?"
Her soft smile didn't disappear, "That detective geek, of course not," She whispered, picking up Conan and placing him on her lap, "Why would I care about him? He disappears out of nowhere and nobody ever sees him again. I hate him for doing that."
Shinichi couldn't help but suddenly hug her, even if he was Conan, he wanted to hug her just so she would know someone's there. To his surprise, she hugged him back, pushing him closer to her as she cried on him, her tears falling on his head.
"Ran, don't cry," Was all he could say, but it came out quieter than a whisper, and he wasn't sure if she had heard him. Conan didn't let her go until her crying subsided.
"Why did he leave, Conan, why doesn't he just come home?" Ran sobbed, "Something's wrong, I know it."
"I'm sorry," Conan's innocent voice apologized, the words really Shinichi's, as he stared up into her eyes. They seemed somewhat empty, he noticed.
Ran just shook her head, "It's not your fault."
'But it is, Ran! I don't care how you want to kill me once I get back to normal and come back; I just want to come back to you more than anything! I want to tell you how sorry I am!'
He knew he couldn't, even if it ripped him inside and he just wanted to break out, he couldn't say anything to her, and he was silent. Only Ran's tears and sob's were heard in the room.
"Does it hurt, Ran?" He asked, getting a puzzled look from Ran, "When he calls, does it hurt you?"
It was a question that he needed an answer to, a truthful one that he wanted to know. She looked away from him and out the window again, leaving Shinichi to wonder if she would answer his question.
"A little," She answered, a sense of guilt tugging in his chest when he heard her answer, "When he doesn't tell me where he is." She allowed herself a laugh, "Sure he may sound normal starting a conversation, but I wonder, I worry. I just hate it. That's why I ask him the same question every time he calls. That idiot, he'll never understand. I just wish he would come home."
Conan hugged her again, causing a surprised gasp from her, and tears from Shinichi formed in little Conan's eyes. This time, he didn't let her go.
'Ran, I'm sorry,'

To emotional, but I like it. I wanted something to experiment on a little writing style I want to use sometime in the future, so I thought I'd pick on Shinichi.
