These are the moments
a/n: Well it seems the only place I can get my inspiration from is songs so here’s another one. The song is These are the moments By Edwin McCain.
Spoilers: looks in fic if you see any let me know, cause I am the most unobservant person in the world. This also goes for errors.

And now for something completely different.
At that particular moment Catherine was leaning against the wall, looking up at the sky, and tapping on the glass with her fingers. Normally Grissom would be able to stand the incessant tapping, but he was at his wits end.
“Catherine, must you do that?” He asked sarcastically.
“If you have to ask, then, yes. I do.” She replied, equally as sarcastic.
Rolling his eyes he continued to stare out the window. Normally there would have been a spectacular view out through the glass ceiling, but the rain clouds had blocked all the stars out. So he turned his gaze back at his partner and best friend.
Gil shook his head and tried to concentrate on something else, but his mind kept wandering back to the blue-eyed blonde in front of him. Eventually he stopped trying to look away, and just took in her slouched form against the window. Catherine felt as though she was being watched, and stopped tapping for a moment to look up.
“You want a picture or are you content to keep staring?” she asked.
“Huh? Oh, sorry.” Gil replied, feeling himself blushing. He avoided her gaze for as long as possible, but it was getting very uncomfortable trying to keep his head up at the sky. He slowly lowered his head and met her gaze.
“Now look who’s staring.” He retorted.
“Well I’m trying to figure out why you were in the first place.”
In reality she was taking one of the few moments that she had to marvel at her friend. She knew that she shouldn’t be, but ever since she realized that she had feelings for him, she couldn’t help herself.
Gil, trying to find the hidden meaning in her words, just gave her a funny look and continued to stare into oblivion.
“Gil?” Catherine broke the tension filled silence.
“Yes, Catherine?” He replied, faking to be annoyed.
“I’m cold.”
“Well, what do you want me to do about it?”
She glared at him, and he gave in and walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her slender figure.
She smells like strawberries, and…what can only be Catherine. I never noticed that before.
Unknown to him, Catherine was doing the same thing, not that he could tell. She was resting her head on his arm, so she was able to be inconspicuous. Eventually she noticed he was smelling her, so she turned her head up and smiled at him.
Wow, she’s so gorgeous. And She’s smiling at me.
He smiled back, suddenly aware that they were all alone, and no one would be along for a while. He was about to panic when she ran her hand down his cheek, almost sensing how he felt. She placed a tender kiss on his cheek, then leaned back into his embrace.
Here with me.
“Gil, are you okay?”
“F-fine.” He stammered.
‘Well you don’t seem fine. You’re breathing fast and stammering. What's wrong.”
“Nothing.” He said quickly, “I’m fine.”
“Gil never in my life have I heard you stutter before. Tell me what's going on.” She insisted.
Sighing Gil caved. “It’s just…that…I don’t know what's happening here.”
“What do you mean?” she asked, looking confused.
“I mean, this.” he gestured to them with his hands,” What we’re doing here.”
Catherine caught the unobvious meaning in his words. Instead of taking her usual sarcastic route and saying: We’re waiting for someone to find us in this storm, she sighed and asked,
“What do you want it to be? We’ve been friends for seventeen years Gil, but I’d be willing to take it further. Do you want to take it further?”
Thrown a little off guard by this statement Gil just sat there for a moment. He took so long that Catherine assumed she had been wrong about what she thought he felt. She tried to get up, but his arms held her in place. She turned her head around, and just as she shot him a questioning look his lips descended on hers. After the initial moment of surprise, she responded and deepened the kiss. After a few moments she pulled back and said,
“I’ll take that as a yes.”
I could not ask for more thanthe love you give me,
Cause it's all I've waited for.
And I could not ask for more.
