A/N: Greetings Stargate fans, for this is the first time I address you like this. I've been a fan of Stargate for some time now, but didn't finally find something I could write and like until recently, and that would be the Martouf x Sam pairing. I find it adorable in every respect, and I earnestly hope you feel the same. This piece doesn't fit anywhere in the SG timeline, so don't expect this to tie into any part of the ulimate plot, and I just wanted to mess with a little image in my head. Hope ya like!

Disclaimer: Oy, if I owned Stargate, Martouf and Sam would have kissed a long time ago, but did they? No! ...Almost did, though. Drat.

Lab Work

Though it was a bleak and rather ugly looking day on the outside of the SGC, inside Samantha Carter was struggling to keep cool – or rather, keep her cool. It was another day of testing for her and her partner, Martouf, a close friend who viewed her as more from the start of their companionship, and deep inside, Sam felt that, too.

And today it was growing to be far too difficult to ignore, her eyes constantly swerving back to her figures every time he would catch her staring. His blue eyes were far too pretty for his own good, constantly drawing her to look at them like magnets. He was the positive, trying to get his work done, and she was the negative – being the bad girl that kept thinking of things outside the workplace.

“Samantha, do you have the test results for our study to continue?” he asked her, not looking her way – lucky enough for Sam she had taken a very, very strong interest in staring at his back. “Samantha…”

“Huh? Oh, yeah, still working on it,” she replied hurriedly, meanwhile typing frantically to get the information the object of her attention required. Martouf chuckled quietly and went back to writing down his notes, and again, Sam’s stare averted to his arched frame, admiring him far too much from her vantage point. Augh, she just couldn’t take it anymore!

“Why do you have to act so sexy all the time?”

He looked up at her confusedly, perplexed by what she meant, though his mask of innocence wasn’t working – he knew exactly what she was suggesting. “Whatever do you mean, Samantha?”

“You’re just doing it to torture me, aren’t you?”

“I’m afraid you have lost me.”

“Is Lantash having a say at all, or is he in charge? Hmm?”

“I don’t follow you…”

Slamming her notebook onto the desk, she marched over to him and kissed him hard, trying to somehow make him learn his lesson for teasing her so. He seemed to be caught completely by surprise, but he did adjust well, holding her close and responding accordingly. Being experienced did help – that is, until she found one of his very few pleasure points on the back of his neck, where Lantash was curled around the brainstem. Due to her sensitive and seductive touch, he felt much weaker and broke away from her lips to gasp the feeling was so incredible, compelling her to continue the torture on his neck.

Martouf moaned loud enough to draw unwanted attention from outside the lab, and when the two heard footsteps approaching the open doorway, they quickly returned to their appropriate positions, pretending to be busy at work. To their surprise, Jack O’neill was the one who had interrupted them.

“Hard at work, eh, mad scientists?” he said, hands in his pockets as he gave his typical “what’s up” look.

“On the contrary, Colonel,” Martouf spoke, “We are not mad, but in fact quite sane.”

“Ah,” Jack gave an acknowledging nod, since Martouf clearly didn’t get the joke. “So Carter, what’s the scoop on these... mysteries you’re trying to unravel?”

She examined her very few notes, disappointed to see nothing more but a few numbers and something about requiring a naquadah reactor for further study. “Uh, well we’re still working on it, Sir. There’s lots of… umm…”

Jack perked a bit, feeling as though he was about to break Sam’s protective bubble about what was happening just a moment ago. “Lots of what?”

“Secrets to reveal, Colonel,” Martouf concluded in Sam’s stead, hoping it was enough to make the elder man back off. “Our research has only just begun and we have much more to learn in a short period of time.”

“Oh, well don’t let me get in the way. Marty, Carter…” Jack, though disappointed, then turned and sauntered out of the lab, leaving the corridor outside void of any eavesdroppers.

Martouf exhaled deeply in relief for the colonel’s absence, looking to Sam, “That was close. We will have to be far more careful from now on if we ever choose to engage in… such activity again.”

Sam had to smirk proudly, gratified in the fact that she caught him off guard for a while, and thus finally held the upper-hand in this relationship. “I guess that’ll teach you to stop looking so attractive while we’re working.”

Grinning, he replied, “I suppose it does. Perhaps I should help you catch up to me by aiding in your own research.”

Obliged by his offer, for a second ignoring the fact that they would be within close proximity of each other again, she accepted and handed him her notes as he walked behind her to observe what she had on the screen. “I see you haven’t made much progress, Samantha.”

“Well, these configurations are a little tricky, and having your expertise should help. Now here it talks about one of the dozens of mechanisms inside it, in which it performs many tasks that I’m not sure of yet. It could be a cooling device, a power grid…” As she went on to explain the various tasks that the one mechanism could achieve on its own, Martouf had since set aside her only sheet of notes, eyes locked on her exposed neckline. This must have been what Sam was feeling while she was admiring him, and since he was much closer now, it was even more difficult to resist the temptation.

“…My best guess is, is that it’s some kind of gener-“ She came to an abrupt halt when his hands latched tenderly onto her shoulders, moving slowly to taunt her as his lips found the area where he knew Jolinar once resided, not that it had any significance to him anymore. Assuming that since he was pleasured in the location where Lantash was adjoined to him, he figured that Sam would feel similar joy if he touched her in a nearly identical manner.

To his delight, he drew out a long and steady moan from her, something akin to satisfaction in her movements that urged him on, kisses trailing up her neck, into her hair to finally reach her ear where he teased her relentlessly by merely brushing against it, instead of giving it the attention she was craving.

“Martouf, you may as well be a Goa’uld,” Sam hissed in frustration.

Content to continue teasing her like this, he whispered against her ear, “And what makes you think that?”

“Because you’re just as evil, torturing me like this… but I guess I can play the same game.” Once she concluded, she whirled around and pulled on his neck to bring him down to meet her lips again, crushing him against her to his surprise. And for a second time, her clever fingers found their way to where his symbiote was located, rubbing the area carefully so as to not hurt it, but to only bring it bliss, not to mention hear Martouf moan again. There was just something about the sound of his voice that made her tingle all over.

Meanwhile, Jack was on his way down the halls, a smile plastered on his face as he met up with his colleagues, who were suspicious of his behavior. “Ah, hi Jack… what’s up?” Daniel asked, since he knew Teal’c wouldn’t.

“Oh, not much, just stopped by to check on Carter and Martouf. Ya know, to see how their research is going.” Jack replied, almost sarcastically at that.

Daniel, wary of the situation decided to implore further, wearing a curious façade to fool his friend, “And how is it going?”

Jack’s smile seemed to widen as he proceeded to walk forward, dividing Daniel from Teal’c, “Apparently they’re working over time. They really want to figure out that new piece of technology.”

And as he rounded the corner, most likely on the way to the mess hall, Daniel and Teal’c were left in dumbfounded silence for a few moments to contemplate what was amiss. When the good doctor finally came to a fair conclusion, he spoke, “Oh… w-well good for them.”

Teal’c gave a typical half-smile, pleased with the assumption in his mind, and added, “Indeed.”

A/N: I dunno why, but I just love the little relationship Jack, Daniel and Teal'c all have, because it's something quirky and fun, so writing that part was rather enjoyable, if I do say so myself. If you liked this, do leave a review, and if you only wanna flame, mehh, please don't. I hate those so much. Thank you for your time!
