‘Matildia, do you want to go down with the chopper to be treated for your burns? You will take a bit longer so your mum can pick you up from the city instead of going back on the chopper’ Dr Armstrong asked Matildia. Mattie nodded eagerly ‘I want to get rid of this as soon as possible. It’s worse than a scar.’

3:00 pm: Time for Mattie to be picked up.

‘Hello? Beth! How are you? How’s Matildia? Did her-What!’ Rachel dropped the phone with a mixture of shock and horror on her face. ‘ No’ she screamed.

‘ Rachel! What happened?’ asked Irene who had come to visit Tasha.

‘ The chopper…it crashed’

‘WHAT’ shrieked Tasha who had come out to greet Irene.

‘ What happened?’ asked Jack who had come out on his wheelchair when he heard all the noise.

‘ The chopper…’

The next day the fiasco about the radio happened and everyone knew what had happened. Everyone was distraught. Especially Beth. Three of her children where on that chopper. She broke down when she heard the news and the search was not going very well at all.
