Notes: Welcome to the sequel for Seahorse Effect. I don't mean to disappoint people that voted for Seto, but the reviewers have spoken. He might just end up pregnant in a future fic, who knows. As for Bakura? You'll see what happens with him in this fic.

Disclaimer: Still don't own Yu-Gi-Oh. All I own are Aiko, Amethyst and the new baby who is still nameless.

Warnings: m-preg, some minor cursing, angst

Pairing(s): Seto x Yami, Honda x Otogi, Yuugi x Jounouchi

Two Step

Two years have passed since Yami and Seto have said their vows, and Amethyst was now a happy three year old. What she didn't know was that her life was about to be changed. All she had seen was Yami running back and forth from the kitchen to the upstairs bathroom, then seeing her uncle trying not to laugh.

"What wrong uncle Mokie?" Amethyst asked softly, perching on the couch next to her uncle. She did find it funny though that her 'mother' was running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

"Oh, it's nothing. I'm just trying not to laugh at the fact that Yami is freaking out again. I swear, if your father was here he'd be laughing too." Mokuba replied, smiling at his niece. He didn't know the reason behind Yami's freak outs.

"Oh, tay. But why mama acting weird?" Amethyst asked, looking up at her uncle with the same crimson eyes that Yami had. But she looked like an almost exact perfect blend of her parents. Her blonde bangs were now prominent as well as her eyes.

Mokuba smiled, leaning back against the couch as he watched the frenzy continue for a few more seconds before Yami finally stopped. He offered a light smile to his brother in law, wondering why he was acting like himself on a sugar high.

"Something wrong Yami? You've been running around like you got into my sugar stash. Don't tell me you mixed up a suicide (1) again." Mokuba sighed, looking up at the taller. He had lost all the weight from Amethyst two years earlier, but he looked nervous.

Yami shook his head, holding something in his hand. It wasn't sugar he had gotten into. But rather something that had happened two weeks ago and he was now scared. Mostly because of the threats he had received.

"For the first time in my life, I'm scared. I was scared with Amethyst, and I'm scared now." Yami started, showing Mokuba the results on the tester. He had every right to be scared. Perhaps Bakura's threats were idle, he didn't know.

Mokuba blinked, and then looked up at Yami then back at the test. His eyes went wide before he smiled. He knew his brother would probably flip, and then come home and hug Yami until he couldn't be hugged anymore.

"You're… did you tell Seto?" Mokuba asked. But judging from the look on Yami's face, that didn't happen. The younger Kaiba frowned slightly, wondering why Yami didn't say anything yet.

"Not yet… I wasn't sure. The last time it was weird. I mean I was already pregnant after I got my own body remember? And the transition was so fast… this time it's different." Yami sighed, sitting down next to Amethyst.

"Right, because you were pregnant when you were sealed away and all of that good stuff. And this time you're going through the whole nine months, including three months or so of morning sickness." Mokuba started, putting his hand on Yami's knee.

Yami nodded, looking at Mokuba. That was one thing he wasn't prepared for. With Amethyst, it was painful with such a rapid transition over a course of two weeks or so. This time it would be slower, and go the normal pace for a pregnancy. And longer spells of morning sickness.

"I know… so I'll be able to see how the whole thing goes. Just please, don't tell your brother yet. I'll tell him when he comes home tonight." Yami started, still sitting against the couch.

"I won't say a word." Mokuba smiled, hopping up from the couch. He went to get some Saltines, even though Yami didn't ask for them. He knew how the former Pharaoh was last time though.

"I'll go to the hospital later to find out how far I am. Then I'll tell Seto." Yami smiled, watching Mokuba leave the living room. He raised an eyebrow when he saw the younger Kaiba come back with about six Saltines in his hand.

"Saltines in case you get sick while waiting." Mokuba chirped as he put the crackers in Yami's hand. He then walked over and picked his niece up before putting her on his lap.

"Thanks, Mokuba." Yami smiled before he decided to head down to the hospital. Besides, he could always get a cab. He was not even about to chance walking, not if Bakura got wind of this latest development.

After a few moments, Yami got to the hospital without incident. Bakura wasn't anywhere to be seen, which made the former spirit nervous. But he had very good reason, just because Bakura wasn't around now didn't mean he wouldn't show up.

"Yami? Hey, what are you doing here?" Otogi asked, smiling at his friend. He had Aiko with him, but was here for his yearly check up. Maybe he was here to set up an appointment for Amethyst? Then again wouldn't he have to have his daughter here?

"Oh, hey Otogi. Wow, Aiko looks a lot like you now." Yami smiled, looking down at the small boy. He was the same age as Amethyst of course, but he still couldn't believe how big he got.

"Yeah. But you still didn't answer my question. Why are you here in this section of the hospital? I thought you didn't see Dr. Shinimori as your regular doctor." Otogi was still confused, looking at the former Pharaoh.

Yami shuffled his foot lightly, he knew Otogi was smart. Maybe too smart sometimes, but he figured it out. At least the part with him seeing Dr. Shinimori instead of his other doctor. He figured he might as well tell him since he didn't last time.

"I guess this is going to be easier to say than last time. I'm seeing Dr. Shinimori because of a test result I got this morning… I know she isn't my regular doctor. But I seriously doubt Dr. Ruhiko would understand." Yami started, sitting on the bench.

"Wait… test result? And Dr. Ruhiko not understanding? Yami, just tell me. Trust me, we both had children. Nothing sounds weird to me anymore." Otogi smiled, putting his hand on the other's shoulder.

Yami sighed, and then a light smile crossed his face. Why was he so scared of this? He was going to do this, Bakura or no Bakura. He couldn't let the threats scare him, and so far Amethyst hasn't been showing any signs of having shadow powers since she was now three.

"And now you're smiling. Wait… you're pregnant again aren't you? I know a mood swing when I see one." Otogi grinned then hugged his shorter friend. He laughed for a moment before he pulled back. He was smarter than most gave him credit for.

"That wasn't a mood swing, Otogi. It's too early for that. But yes, according to the test I am. I just came to see Dr. Shinimori so I can find out how far along I am. And before you ask, it is Seto's. I doubt the same incident can happen twice." Yami replied, the smile getting wider on his face.

"It was too a mood swing. Your hormones are out of whack again and you know it. But I wasn't going to say a word about it. I know that it's Seto's, I mean you two are married now." Otogi replied, sitting back with Aiko who was just watching the two talk.

Yami was about to say something else when Dr. Shinimori came out of the back. He turned to face her, but of course she was probably here to see Aiko. He could wait, unless Otogi was willing to wait a little longer.

"Otogi Ryuuji… Ah, there you are. And how is Aiko doing?" Dr. Shinimori smiled, walking up to the green eyed dice master and his son. Then she shook her head in surprise as she spotted Yami sitting next to him.

"Aiko is fine. We're just here for his check up, but I think Yami is more important than us right now. We can wait a few more minutes." Otogi smiled, he understood exactly what was going on. He hoped that Dr. Shinimori wouldn't mind though.

Dr. Shinimori nodded and smiled as she walked up to Yami. She could see it in his eyes. She put a hand on his shoulder, the smile not leaving her face. Somehow she already knew what he was here for without him even saying a word.

"Of course. Follow me please, Yami." Dr. Shinimori smiled, leading him back to her office. She took a blank chart from the wall, and walked into her office with Yami. She opened the door for him before sitting across the table from him.

"I suppose you know why I'm here." Yami spoke softly, looking at her for a moment. He had his hands folded across his lap lightly, crimson meeting emerald green for a brief second.

Dr. Shinimori nodded and smiled, handing him the papers to sign and fill out. The form at top would be easy enough for him, especially a certain part. But she decided to let him do it on his own.

Yami raised an eyebrow for a quick second before he smiled. He read over the top form that said previous pregnancies. It had a few different things listed that included miscarriage, stillbirth, multiples, or if this was the first pregnancy. And if not, how many children does he have and were they alive or dead when born. Plus if they were born by C-section or naturally.

"Why does it ask about miscarriage and stillbirth? Or if you had live or dead babies previously?" Yami asked softly as he filled out the rest of the form. He knew that it didn't apply to him though, since Amethyst was very much alive.

"I know it's a lot of personal information. But that is for all of our patients, so I know how to treat someone who may have had a previous miscarriage and could have a risk of it happening again. Or someone who had a stillborn baby, and they want to make sure that nothing happens to their next child that is viable." Dr. Shinimori replied as Yami filled out the form. She didn't expect him to get everything since he wasn't sure about how far along he was.

"I filled it out to the best of my ability. Not all of it applies to me, but I filled out everything that I remembered from Amethyst." Yami started, handing the forms to Dr. Shinimori. He felt a little more anxious now since he was one step closer to finding out how far along he really was.

"I know. I still have to fix it for male pregnancies, but you and Otogi are the only male patients I've ever had that actually got pregnant. And the odds of you coming back again after this are pretty slim. No offence." Dr. Shinimori smiled.

Yami nodded before he followed her back into a familiar darkened room. He smiled as he hopped up on the table, staring up at the ceiling. He knew exactly what was going on. He pulled his shirt up and unbuckled his pants slightly, just so she could get to his stomach and put the gel on.

"Alright, you know the procedure by now. When was the last time you and Seto engaged in intercourse?" Dr. Shinimori asked as she put the cold gel on Yami's stomach before she got the transceiver for the machine.

"You can judge the conception date from the size of the fetus though right? I mean I know when we last were involved in activities." Yami replied, staying still as he felt the cold gel against his skin. He was still mentally betting that whoever invented ultrasound gel would be richer if he or she made it warm.

"I can tell how far along you are by the size of the fetus, possibly conception date. Due date I won't be sure on just yet." Dr. Shinimori smiled before she moved the probe over the gelled area. She knew it would be hard to see at this stage though.

Yami nodded, turning his head to the monitor. At first he heard the heartbeat, and that made him feel better. So he really was pregnant, that was a relief for him. Now the question was how far along he was. He didn't see anything just yet, but was watching the monitor intently.

"And the heartbeat is heard as early as six weeks, four weeks after conception. So… you are almost two months pregnant. This small speck, about the size of a pea is your baby. I can circle it and print out an image for you to show Seto if you want." Dr. Shinimori smiled, showing Yami the embryo on the screen. It would be a few more weeks before it was considered a fetus.

"Six weeks already? I never even experienced six weeks… the last time was from a month to three months over a two week period. This wasn't so bad… just morning sickness again." Yami smiled softly, holding the printout in his hand once Dr. Shinimori handed it to him.

Dr. Shinimori just smiled and nodded before helping Yami stand up. She knew this was probably exciting for him. Especially since he could carry this pregnancy through the entire nine months without skipping three so quickly. She was excited too, mostly because Yami was one of her best patients.

"I'm placing your due date around March 3rd, could be earlier or later. It depends on if he or she is as anxious to meet you as Amethyst was. So I want you to take care of yourself and come back for your 10 week ultrasound." She smiled before letting Yami join up with Otogi again.

Yami nodded, smiling as well. He walked out to Otogi with the printout in hand, and the smile still plastered on his face. Needless to say he was very happy. He just hoped that Seto would be as well.

"How did it go?" Otogi asked, and then saw the printout in Yami's hand. He smiled and stood up from his chair. He knew that it was really true, he was pregnant again. He wouldn't have been smiling if it was otherwise.

"It went well. I heard the heartbeat, and this is proof." Yami smiled, showing Otogi the printout and the small area that was circled. He couldn't help it; he was very excited about this. So within a few months Amethyst would be a big sister.

"Aww… Only 1 ¼ inches? So you're six weeks. If you want to talk later, you have our number. We can get Aiko and Ame-chan together for a play date next week." Otogi smiled, handing the printout back to Yami.

"I'd like that. I'll see you later, Otogi." Yami smiled softly as he headed down the hall. He wanted so much to tell Seto, he was almost bursting with excitement. But he knew it would have to wait until his husband came home.

Yami knew that he would have to tell Mokuba as well, and then Amethyst. But first, he had to tell Seto. He had every right to know since he is the father. Of course a million thoughts still ran through his head of every possible scenario. Would Seto be mad, or would he be happy? It was so hard to tell with the CEO. All Yami could do was hope for the best in this, and for his unborn child.

Notes:

(1) This is probably the wrong name for it, but I used to do a non-alcoholic version in 10th grade. All I did was mix different highly sugared sodas, including Dr. Pepper, Jolt and Coca Cola with others. It is a dentist's worst nightmare.

The names are still effective, but I think the clear winner is going to be Heru with Setep close behind. If there is a tie, I may make it twins. I haven't done that in m-preg yet, and I'm good at angst and pregnancy complications.

I'll have Seto find out in the next chapter. So I hope you all enjoy this fic as much as you enjoyed Seahorse Effect. And as always, please read and review.
