To Tame a Wildcat: Tomo's Ballad

HOLY CRAP. KYO LIVES.

Yup. I'm back, babies. After a long hiatus from writing, I have been working, doing art, and doing game design. Then I was checking back on some of my comments from my Azumanga Daioh fanfic I wrote-

- "A very angsty, nice one-shot. Only thing I miss is another chapte ;´)"

- "that was really good. i liked it a lot. keep up the good work and maybe make a sequal to this."

- "Aw man, this is way to good to leave as a one shot. Make it into a story! You did very good."

Yeah. Remember "To Tame a Wildcat"? Well, I'm going to attempt at doing what you people suggested I do - make an actual series to Tomo's events from that story.

That said, I'd suggest reading the first one (which I guess is a prologue now) so you know what's going on. Also, this story is starting off rough, as I haven't touched writing in forever now, so I might've lost the perfect art to doing a good drama story; I REALLY drained it with the Hell With Fame series (which is enjoying its own success and fanbase, thank you very much. I suggest going to the Puffy AmiYumi section right now and look it up. It's better than it sounds, trust me.) and hopefully, with the right set ups, ideas, and support, I can turn this story into something just as amazing. Eh, we'll see.

ANYWHO... This story is rated 'BARELY TEEN/ MATURE'for the language, constant babble about suicide, and just flat out realism. Yes, there will be lesbians in it. I love lesbians, ok? Characters might be a bit OOC, but then again we can't ALL be freakin' happy all the time, y'know? Yeah, the real world sucks, deal with it.

Read and Review ok? Constructive criticism is ok. Flames? Not too much...

Enjoy it, yo. Good to be back.

I do not own Azumanga Daioh; But the people at ADV Films and Kiyohiko Azuma sure do. I am in no way affiliated. If I owned it, I'd turn it into some 'Angst Drama' series. 'AngstManga Daioh' I'd call it.

Chapter 1: Sadistic Eyes

Evening just hit, as the leaves were blowing with the strong wind in that park. A girl with 'wind-blown' hair and a blue-jacket with her hoodie down over her black long sleeve shirt and jeans stood there, looking off to another girl, who was barely taller than her. She wore a green jacket which it too had a hoodie. She wore a blue and yellow striped long-sleeve with dark blue jeans. She slightly brushed her short, ruffled hair as the wind blew. Finally, the latter spoke up.

'So… why'd you call me out here, Tomo? You said you had something to tell me that you couldn't do over the phone.' The girl's body language was telling the other she was curious to know.

'Well… Kagura, I think… I think I like you. I mean, "LIKE YOU" like you…' Tomo blushed deeply when she blurted this out, which made Kagura do a double take and jump back slightly.

'W-What! T-Tomo, is THIS exactly how you just blurted it out to Yomi? This is exactly why she-' Kagura stopped to recollect her nerves and remembered that Tomo is going through a rather hard time right now, so she decided to turn her decibels down a bit. 'Tomo… tell me, when did you get feelings for me exactly?' Tomo just stood there, looking down to her side, not being her usual manic-wild self. 'Well… to be honest, almost as long as I developed feelings for Yomi, if not as long. Well, that and you and I have a lot more in common…'

Kagura decided to interrupt her for a second. 'Oh, like what? We both seem to fail tests! We both get on each other's nerves! WE BOTH SEEM TO BE KNUCKLEHEADS!' Kagura once again forgot about her temper, which made Tomo a tad upset. 'Tomo… what the hell is wrong with you? You usually brush this crap off and make a joke about it. Honestly, it's pissing me off AND scaring me…' Tomo just made a 'tch' noise with her teeth and just looked right back at Kagura. 'Does it ever bug you as to WHY I just act like an "idiot" in public? Do you ever wonder why I get on your nerves? It's to cover my insecurities, ok? There, I said it. So what, am I now a pathetic little child to you, Kagura? Huh? Am I just an insignificant loser now? What are you going to do, tell the others, hm?'

Tomo was getting very defensive as she told her 'life story' in one phrase. Kagura sighed and shook her head. 'This isn't anyone else's business. I'm not a shmuck like that…' Tomo sighed before going on.

'So… what do you think of me?' Tomo was curious on Kagura's opinion on her. Honestly, Kagura had no idea on how to answer that, as everything was happening too fast. 'Tomo, I appreciate your admiration for me, but come on. I don't even think I swing that way…' Kagura sat down on a bench, sighing as she sat down. 'I didn't think I did either. Maybe I'm just curious and just exploring, Kagura. I'm sure you go through with it too…' Kagura tensed up a bit and blushed. 'Hey! I- I- that's just stupid, Tomo, seriously! Knock it off!'

'No guy has shown interest in you, and you haven't shown interest in any other guy. It's like I say: if at first you don't succeed, try again. If you fail, perhaps you should consider homosexuality.' Tomo smirked for the first time in what seemed like ages. It was like a verbal knife stabbed right in Kagura's back. 'Well… you drive a good point… I just, dating is pointless and-'

'Pointless, or you just never had a boyfriend before?' Tomo was slowly gaining her wit back. Kagura was saddened by this last comment before she spoke up. 'They all think I'm too tomboyish! Like, I damage their masculinity or something… freaking men…' Kagura wiped a small tear from the corner of her eye. 'Hmph, as with I. See? Another thing we have in common…' Tomo pulled Kagura up from the bench by her hand and held it there. 'Kagura, it would make me happy if you were my… better half from this point on out…' Kagura just looked to her, with her hand still being held by the now smiling girl. 'Tomo…' Without warning, Kagura pulled her hand way and backed up. 'This is… this is way too fast, Tomo. As well as awkward. Sorry, but…' The other girl sighed and frowned. 'Hey, whatever, sorry. I just thought you and I might've had something. You know, you and I are a lot in common.' Kagura looked down as Tomo told her this. 'Perhaps…' Right then, Tomo started walking off.

'Whatever. If you don't want me annoying you like I did Yomi, fine. You two can go and talk about how much of an ass I am, and I'll go and make sure I never bug YOU or anyone else again…'

Kagura recognized this phrase. That was the talk of someone who wanted to 'end it all' so to speak. 'God… I'm going to regret I know it…' Kagura thought. She then grabbed Tomo's hand, to stop her right then and there. Tomo turned around wondering why Kagura did this. 'Oh, what now?'

Kagura smiled nervously and blushed a bit. 'I guess I… have nothing to lose, but please don't go blurting it around… I mean, just not yet, ok? Not even Yomi.' Tomo smiled greatly and hugged her 'new girlfriend' tightly. 'It's settled then, you can be Tomo's Shnuggle-Buns!' She laughed a bit to herself saying that as Kagura sighed a bit.

'You're starting to sound like your old self again… it's getting late, Tomo, I need to head back, ok?' Without cue, Tomo hugged the ruffle haired girl again. 'Ok, Kaggy-chan!' Kagura had that bamboozled look on her face. 'K- Kaggy-chan? Oy…' Tomo walked off back to her place, humming quietly to herself. Kagura just stood there staring off to Tomo as she walked off further and further.

'My first high school love… and it's a girl, out of pity so she doesn't commit suicide… ye Gods…this is NOT going to end well…'

- To Be Continued.

Hm, yeaaaah... I might have something here, whaddya think? Hey, like I said, I'm just doing what the fans asked for, so I'm going to continue this and hopefully, it will develop into something as edge-seating as my other crap. Well, R&R folks. I have much art to do. - Kyo
