Why did we have to leave?

My heart broke when we parted.

My soul was torn as I watched you drive away.

We acted like this parting was nothing.

But this parting was everything.

As I sit here in the dirt, head resting upon this cold, gray wall I still think of you.

The pain in my fist doesn’t get rid of this pain of my beating heart.

As this beating heart belongs to you.

As I try to fight back these tears, scenes of us together flash in my mind.
