I saw Inuyasha pace in the shed. He had been mumbling non stop about how ridiculous this whole thing was. I rolled my eyes.

Sango and Shippou had left to take a bath, and a few minutes later, Miroku followed silently. Now it was just me and Inuyasha.

"How long now?" Inuyasha sighed.

"Inuyasha, it's only been an hour since nightfall. We still have eight hours to go"

Inuyasha growled. "Damn it!"

"It's only a full moon once a month. It can't be all that bad."

"No, it's worse!" He snapped. I rolled her eyes once again. Did he always have to be this difficult?

"Just lie down and don't get in the moonlight." I ordered.

"For all I care, I could stick my hand out in the moonlight!"

I glanced at him. "You can't."

"Who's going to stop me?"

I quirked my head to the side. "Osuwari." I said silently

"Argh!" He snarled as he plummeted in the earth. I grinned pleasantly.

I sighed. He was like this every time he had his "time of month." I leaned against the wall and closed my eyes.

WHACK! I snapped her eyes and looked at Inuyasha who was smirking slightly. Miroku came in, rubbing his cheek with a smug smile on his face.

"She's marvellous." He said. Shippou ran in and took a breath in.

"Idiot!"

He sat down beside Inuyasha and I closed my eyes once again and fell asleep. What a pervert…

"You should have never followed me there!"

"It wasn't my fault! Inuyasha didn't stop me!"

"Don't bring me in this you perverted monk." Inuyasha growled.

"If you had moved any closer you would have been in the spring with me!" Sango huffed.

"At least you would have had company!" Miroku offered.

"That's why Shippou was with me!"

I groaned as I woke up. I had had enough of their bickering. Silently, I got up and slipped through the door unnoticed, but I guessed that Inuyasha had picked up my scent.

I sighed as I took off my shoes and socks and dipped my feet in the spring water. I wonder what mother is doing right now…I thought. I missed my mother, and my grandpa... and my brother…I'd been gone for about two months. When could I have gone home? I brought my knees to my chin and wrapped my arms around my legs. My journey was almost over, we only had two shards left, and then Inuyasha would be a full demon.

Thoughts swarmed my head as I thought about him being a full demon. Would he not want to see me anymore? Did he only want to be with me to get the information on the shards? Would I have to return home and never come back?

I sighed again.

I looked out at the sky. The sun was rising. That meant a full day of travelling… what fun…

Footsteps.

"Kagome?" I recognized Inuyasha's voice. I looked up at him. He was a hanyou again.

I smiled. "It's nice to see you back to normal." Inuyasha sat down beside me. He leaned against a rock and looked up at the sky.

"Do you have any idea where the next shard is?"

I sighed. Did he really want to get rid of me so fast? I was beginning to believe my thought about him only wanting to be with me for the information on the shards. I closed my eyes and concentrated.

"I don't have anything yet, but I'll keep trying."

Inuyasha's ears flicked. "Is something wrong?"

I smiled to myself. Of course he would have sensed the tone in my voice.

"No, I'm just wondering what will happen after you get all the shards… what will happen to-" I stopped. I couldn't ask that, it would be selfish.

I noticed that Inuyasha was thinking about what I had said. Damn it, Kagome, I thought, do you have to do this now? Right when we're almost finished!

"Kagome, even after I turn into a full demon-"

"Inuyasha, Kagome! It's time to go!" Shippou called. Inuyasha looked at me, but I avoided his gaze by looking at the ground.

Inuyasha got up and walked over to Miroku.

I took my feet out of the spring and picked up my socks and shoes. I quickly ran after the group.

"Take this you bastard!" Inuyasha screamed. With a swing of his Tessaiga, the monster was separated in half. I walked up to the monster and winced as I dug through the flesh of the beast. I smiled in relief as I pulled my hand out to reveal a shard.

"Eugh! Kagome! Look at your hand!" Shippou squealed. He plugged his nose and hid behind Miroku.

"We only have one more left!" Inuyasha bared his fangs. He could almost feel the full demon power inside him.

Shippou stifled a yawn as he crawled up my arm and rested on my shoulder. "Kagome, I'm tired…"

"Hmm? Oh, gomen, Shippou, I didn't know that it was so late." I apologized. I looked at Inuyasha with questioning eyes. He sighed and nodded, agreeing that it was time to rest.

I put Shippou down and then made my way to the trunk of a tree and leaned against it, whereas Inuyasha jumped up the tree and rested there.

My eyes slowly closed and I fell asleep instantly. I concentrated on my beating heart. It was like a basketball. Ba-bump, ba-bump… I started to dream. I heard a loud noise in my dream, and then I opened my eyes. I was in a body… who's? My instincts told me that it was mine. Why was I inside my own body? I looked around and saw my heart. I nearly choked on how gross this dream was. I was about to go somewhere else, when something caught my eye. A flash of pink sparkled from my heart. Could it- no, that was impossible. But, it looked so real. Could the last shard be in my heart? No!

I gasped and woke up with a start. That dream- it was so real… but it was impossible… that couldn't happen. I hungrily breathed for air, taking in as much as possible.

I brought a hand to the position of my heart and gasped as my heart sped up. I shook my head. Kagome, wake up, this isn't real, it's impossible for the last shard to be located in your heart. But I didn't believe myself. It was too…real… I lifted myself up and looked at the top of the tree I was leaning against and found Inuyasha there, sleeping. I grabbed a low branch and hulled myself up, desperate to talk to Inuyasha. I climbed and climbed and finally reached the branch in which the hanyou slumbered. I stepped over him and sat in front of him. I nudged Inuyasha and called him quietly. He stirred, growled and then moved his head, falling back asleep. I groaned and smacked him lightly on the head.

"Inuyasha!" I whispered.

He snapped open his eyes and looked at me with a confused look. "Kagome, what is it? And you'd better have a good reason for waking me." He growled.

"I-" I gulped. Would he believe me? "I knowwherethelastshardis." I said quickly. He looked at me.
"Uh, didn't get that."

I sighed and looked at my hands. "I know where the last shard is." I said slowly. He looked at me.

"Where?" He said immediately.

"See-that's the part I wanted to talk to you about…it's-" I squirmed slightly, careful not to fall from the tree.

"Spit it out, Kagome!" Inuyasha pressed.

I had to think about this. If I told him and he wanted the shard, that would mean he would have to kill me to get it. But if he didn't want to kill me, he wouldn't be able to become a full demon. I could easily go to a doctor and ask him to get it, but he wouldn't believe that there was a shard in my heart. And even if he did, it would cost a lot of money, and a lot of time. And time was precious to Inuyasha.

"The last shard is-" I met his eyes; his golden eyes boring into mine. I quickly looked away, afraid that my eyes would reveal the secret. "It's-it's in…me…" I drifted off. He blinked. Once, twice, thrice…

It looked like he was trying to put the pieces of the puzzle in his head. He looked at me, at the ground and then back at me.

"WHAT!" He finally screamed. He jumped down from the tree and ran up to Miroku.

"Miroku!" He said. When Miroku did nothing, Inuyasha kicked him and finally woke him up.

"What is it?" Miroku said, rubbing his back in pain.

"The last shard is in Kagome's heart!" Inuyasha snarled in fury.

"What? But-but- that's impossible!" Miroku spluttered. He licked his lips in confusing and then looked at me. I had just got down from the branch and blushed furiously as Inuyasha and Miroku looked at me.

"Kagome- are you sure?" Miroku looked at me seriously. I nodded and looked at my feet. I walked up to Inuyasha and took his arm, excusing myself from Miroku. He nodded slightly and I took Inuyasha behind the tree that I was sleeping against.

"Inuyasha, I-" I closed my eyes and took a breath. This was the right thing to do, I just knew it. "I need you to get the shard." Inuyasha's eyes widened.

"What? No, Kagome, there has to be another way. I-"

"Inuyasha, there is no other way. Either you kill me to get the shard, or you leave me alive, but you don't get the shard."

"Well, then I won't get the shard. I'm not going to kill you- I can't." Inuyasha looked at me with a look of seriousness in his eyes. His brows furrowed and he looked at me disapprovingly.

"But you have to! You've been wanting to be a hanyou all your life, and I just came about a year ago. It wouldn't be fair." I reasoned. He shook his head, letting his silver hair spill over his shoulder.

"No- I can't- you'll die."

"But I'll die happy because I got to help you!"

"Kagome, I've spent my whole time with you, saving your ass, and now you want me to kill you?"

I sighed and looked at his golden eyes. My eyes blurred with tears. I quickly blinked them back, trying to be strong for me and Inuyasha. "Yes," I whispered.

Inuyasha looked shocked at my words, and he slowly backed away from me, like I had a disease. His mouth slightly opened and his eyes wide, he turned around and punched the tree in fury. He looked back at me with shame on his face.

He took a moment to finally say something. It looked as though he was arguing with himself in his head. My heart slightly lifted as I realized he was considering my offer. His dream would come true. He would become a full demon, like he always wanted, and I would die happy, like I wanted.

But you would die a liar, My brain thought. I furrowed my eyebrows, confused that a part of me would say that. You have to tell him how you feel before you die, or you won't die happy. I shook my head, trying to get rid of my thoughts.

I noticed that Inuyasha was looking at me, with an indescribable look in his eyes. He sighed finally and reluctantly spat out. "Fine." I smiled slightly and hugged him. He was making the right choice. I knew it.

But you're not making the right choice by not telling him.

"But- that's impossible!" Sango said. She looked from Inuyasha, to Miroku, to a weeping Shippou to me. "Kagome… are you sure about this?" She questioned.

I sighed and answered for the fifth time "Yes, I'm sure. I saw it in my dream."

"No, not that. I mean- are you sure you want Inuyasha to get it?" Sango nearly whispered. I looked at her and then at Inuyasha, who was glaring at the ground.

"Oh, yes… I'm sure."

"C'mon… we should probably get this over with…" Inuyasha said, each word getting slower and quieter.

"Inuyasha, can I talk to you for a second?" I grabbed his hand, pulling him back.

"What is it?" He nearly spat. I winced at his harsh words.

"I- I just wanted to say thank you and that-" Come on Kagome, tell him! I screamed in my mind. "I wanted to give you something for agreeing with me." I said. You're not telling him Kagome! Tell him you love him! I shook my thoughts out.

"Well, what is it?" He said impatiently.

Well, I thought, actions speak louder than words.

I slowly reached up to him on my toes and gently placed my lips on his. Slowly and sweetly. My arms slowly raised to his shoulders, and I pulled him closer to me as I felt him slowly kiss me back. He parted his lips slightly, and I felt his tongue ask permission to enter. I parted my lips and he entered. I finally wrapped my arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around my waist. I felt a tear slowly come down my face, as I realized that this would be my last moment to kiss him, taste him, hug him, hold him… and most importantly, love him.

He pulled me closer and I moaned gently as he brought his hand up and down my back, caressing my skin. His hand left tingles through my skin and I pulled him even closer, not wanting him to stop.

We finally broke apart, gasping for air and I looked at him. The look of confusion on his face was adorable, yet paining. I quickly looked away and walked back to Miroku, Sango and Shippou, leaving Inuyasha alone.

Inuyasha finally returned, looking quite flustered. His cheeks were a deep shade of scarlet, and he avoided my gaze.

I removed a strand of hair from my face and looked at him and took a deep breath. "Ready?" I asked him. He seemed startled by my words, but he finally looked at me and nodded.

I gently laid myself on the ground and looked at everyone and smiled at their faces. They smiled sadly back at me, and Shippou crawled onto Sango's shoulder, refusing to accept that he would never see me again.

"Shippou, don't cry, I'll always be with you, no matter what." I said. I heard Inuyasha's Tessaiga come out of its shaft. I took a deep breath.

I looked at Inuyasha, as he brought up the Tessaiga above his head. I looked in his eyes, and I finally read the expression in his eyes. They said to me, "I love you, Kagome."

(A/N: Okay, I know that sounded really corny, and it probably was, but hey… cut me some slack! If she said it to him, or he said it to her, he wouldn't want to kill her! Sheesh XD)

I looked back at him with the same expression in my eyes. I closed him eyes tight as I saw him bring down his Tessaiga. I thanked everyone for their help, support, love, respect. In just a few seconds, I would be filled with excruciating pain, and then black out and die. Inuyasha would become a full demon, hopefully Sango and Miroku would finally fall in love. I heard Inuyasha grunt. Not long now...

5… I love you mom, grandpa, Souta… sorry I didn't say good bye.

4… It's for the best, Shippou. Please don't cry.

3… Miroku don't be such a pervert and maybe Sango will love you like you love her.

2… I hope you burn, Naraku.

1… I love you Inuyasha!

Nothing. Silence… was I dead already?

I opened my eyes and found Inuyasha's Tessaiga about to hit my chest. A look of confusion touched my face as I looked at Inuyasha. His eyes were closed, his eyebrows furrowed and he had a permanent wince on his face.

"Inuyasha! Do it! Get it over with!" I yelled, frustrated. He opened his eyes and looked at me. He brought back his Tessaiga and dropped it. I frowned. He dropped to his knees, breathing heavily.

"Damn it, Kagome.I-I can't do it." He sighed in defeat.

I crawled over to him, anger burning my insides. "Inuyasha, don't let this happen. You need this shard more than anyth-"

"No, Kagome. That's not true." He looked at me. "I need you more than anything. To hell with having all the shards. If I have you, I have everything."

I looked at him with pure shock on my face as he captured my lips with his. This time, the kiss was more intense. Wanting to taste him forever, I shot my tongue in his mouth and wrapped my arms around his neck once more. He snaked his arms around my waist and pulled my closer. He kept pulling me closer, as though he never wanted to let go. I felt him nip slightly at my lower lip and he slowed the kiss, making it more innocent and sweet. He slowly broke apart and ran kisses down my neck and back up, leaving me with weak knees, and tingling skin. He leaned up and kissed me again, moaning slightly as I pressed harder on his lips.

"Ahem…" We ripped apart as Shippou tapped his foot impatiently. "well, that was heart warming, honestly…but I think we'd rather keep out breakfast in our stomachs."

I blushed furiously and Inuyasha looked at Miroku, who was caressing Sango's "rump" as he smiled seductively. To end his pleasure, Sango slapped his hand and then his face. Shippou sweat dropped as Inuyasha helped me up. He quickly looked away and retrieved his Tessaiga.

I smiled slightly as we all walked back to the well so I could go home for while to get some clean clothes.

"So…Inuyasha, what will we do when I get back from the well?"

I saw Inuyasha ponder the question. A grin slowly made its way onto his face and he looked at me. "I have a feeling we'll find something." I smiled brightly as Miroku and Sango lead the way. I slithered my hand in Inuyasha's and he squeezed it.

"I still don't know why you didn't do it." I said, frowning.

I looked up at Inuyasha and he looked down at me. "I'll be a hanyou for the rest of my life, just for you."

THE END

Okay, I'm done this oneshot story. Now all I have to do is make a CCS story and edit/finish my Housemates Project.

I actually enjoyed making this story because it's like a dream come true to have that. (Besides the part about Kagome nearly getting killed…not so fun) But you know what I mean. I tried really hard to add some fluff, and yet not get scolded from my cousing for the tongue parts..hehe...>.

Thanks for reading! RR please.
