Zelda Wind Waker: Call Me Your Guide
Ch. 1- Into the Game!
Spi: Yeah… okay, cue disc plz!
Disc: KK doesn’t own Zelda WW at all (cept for the game…) and is sorry if she is stealing anyone’s idea. She does own, however, this idea and the OC(s). Is almost your typical sucked into a game story.
“BROTHER, LOOK UP IN THE SKY!” Aryll shrieked, pointing at a big bird wearing a steel helmet of some sort, terrified out of her wits. Link, also becoming alarmed, quickly looked up into the sky to see the bird, holding a girl with blond hair in its grimy talons, and something on top of its back that was silver. A rock shot at it, seeming to come out of nowhere, whizzing right past the bird and causing a humongous splash in the water, dangerously close to Outset. The bird suddenly whirled around, the silver that had once been on its back now on its head, holding on to the curious orange-yellow things coming out of its head, and it opened its mouth wide just as the final rock…
“MARK!” A woman’s voice yelled from the bottom of the stairs angrily, causing the 14-year-old in his room just atop the stairs to jump, instantly pausing his game with swift reflexes and out of shock. He sighed annoyidly, trying to get his matted down stubborn spiky brown hair out of his strangely pure sky blue eyes. He absolutely refused to crawl out of his room, except for food and to go to the much dreaded school, because he knew he would have to deal with his fucking parents. They never gave him his privacy, even if he did get strait A’s.
“What is it oh dear mother of mine?” He called back sarcastically, rolling his eyes. He had just started this game for the millionth time, but it had felt so real this time. He could actually hear the squawks of the Rito, the flapping of the wings on the dreaded Helmaroc King, the feel of its surprisingly well groomed and silky dark feathers, the rush of the wind…
“Phone…” His Mom called back in defeat, ripping him out of his thoughts. He sighed again, and flopped over to the other side of his bed where his nightstand was, accidentally knocking the controller off, and picked up his phone.
“I’ll take it up here!” He yelled, covering the mouthpiece of the phone before pressing it to his ear. Little did he realize what was happening to his game…
“Mark? Ya there?” A tentative voice asked from the phone. Mark laughed.
“You better believe it!” He smiled, delighted that it was his best friend and not some jerky salesmen. “So, what up, Maxx?”
“Um, I-I got stuck again… in the Wind Temple place where you drop off Makar… Can you come over and help me?”
“Again dude? Man, your gaming skills rock, but your puzzle solving and navigating skills reek!”
“Sorry, it’s just really confusing, and my dad refused to bye me the guide…”
“Ouch…” Mark sighed, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. Maxx had always been too shy to stand out much, so his grades were really just above average. “Well, if you actually put some of that brainpower to use, you could really get anything you needed! You are a ‘C’ person right now…”
“I know…” Maxx sadly replied on the phone. “Just come over this one last time please? I’m about to die from this Red Wizrobe!”
Mark smiled once again. “Sure, okay, fine. It is summer after all. Just let me save my game, and I’ll be right over!”
“You started over again?” Maxx asked before Mark could hang up. “Alright, but you had better leave the surprises this time. Bye.”
“See ya in a few.” Mark said, hanging up. He looked around his room, wondering what to take with him. Deciding to start somewhere, he grabbed his empty backpack and placed the guide in it. Then it hit him. When in the world had there ever been a silver thing on top of the Helmaroc King in the beginning? And since when had there ever been any glitches in his Gamecube games? Panicking, he looked at the screen just in time to see it black out and flash white again, going back to the beginning of the game. But instead of being silent, a little girl spoke the newly engraved words on the screen with different pictures.
“Long ago in the ancient world of Hyrule, when the Dark World, or so everyone called our home, was still unshaped and full of greedy monsters, three goddesses decided to shape our world to make it a more bearable place to live for others. They were known as Din, the eldest, Nayru, the middle child, and Faore, the youngest one of all three.”
Mark stared with utter disbelief at the screen. ‘I-…it’s saying something totally different!’
“The three goddesses were pleased with their creation, and as they left, a golden power, the Triforce, was created, marking the start of Hylian history. The people worshiped the golden power, and kept it safe in the Temple of Time, or so their king, Daphnese Nohansen Hyrule, said it was…”
“What?” Mark shrieked, pointing accusingly at the screen. “I played Ocarina of Time and it WAS in there!”
“The golden power was said to have granted the wish of whoever first touched it when it was brought together wholely, so the wise king tried to save it and keep it away from whomever might want to bring the end of the kingdom. One man, the only man and king of the gerudians, Ganondorf, was especially lusting for power, and tried to find a way to the Triforce. He did, and it was through a young and promising boy, whose name was never recorded. He ruled all of Hyrule, and was insanely strong, so no one dared try to stand up to the evil king. Then, in a sudden brilliance, the hero of time appeared, to vanquish the evil Ganondorf, and to save all of Hyrule. He sealed Ganon away, and restored the Triforce to its rightful place in the temple, leaving soon after, to save another world. The people lived in harmony once more, and they never forgot about the hero, telling the legend over and over, having it recorded and stored in the temple along with the Triforce. But one day, long after the hero had left, a fell wind blew over the kingdom, signaling the rise of Ganon! He quickly took over the whole kingdom, and sent it into a dark age, as well as sending terror through the people’s hearts. Some joined him. Others rebelled. All that is known is that those who rebelled died, and all who joined became his faithful minions, turning into monsters that plagued the kingdom. Those that were left prayed to the Triforce, which had been hidden and never found, that the hero would return and save them. He never came.”
Mark stood wide eyed, paralyzed with fear of the weird happening in front of him. “This…is…too weird…”
It continued, as if it was just the normal programming. “None who truly know what happened to the kingdom remain in that dimension… but, the legend survived on the wind’s breath, and was passed down from generation to generation on a small island. The ones inhabiting the isle would perform the Coming of Age ceremony, when a child would become the age the Hero of Time had been, sixteen, when he had vanquished the evil Ganon. This ceremony was sacred, and represented the child’s first steps into adulthood. The child would be given a green tunic and cap, and they were to seek evil-banishing blades, and fight for justice. Little did anyone realize, a young boy on this isle’s journey was about to begin thrusting him into the world of a great adventure…”
The screen turned white, and in a bright flash, it enveloped the room, sucking Mark into the newly opened portal. He screamed in surprise, and didn’t stop screaming until he was twisting and turning inside of the portal.
“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?” He screamed, holding onto his backpack for dear life. A whisper answered him in a way he would have never known.
‘We’ve been expecting you, Airy.’
After that, he saw nothing but the azure sky speckled with bright, fluffy clouds and many dark indigo feathers that he had his hands clenched in. They were molting fast though, and he had to find a more suitable object to hold on to. Everything else had been fuzzy, and as his senses sharpened, he started to understand more of where he was and how he could help himself to not fall off. Very groggily, he half stumbled half climbed up to the orange things that were poking out of the bird’s head. He jerked on them a little too hard, and the bird whirled around, frozen with pain as rocks whizzed by it, one clipping the tops of Mark’s hair. One final rock shot at the bird, and it screeched as it realized there was no way for it to avoid this one. Struck in the face, the force blasted Mark off and he fell as the bird staggered off in flight. He saw a girl with blond hair falling beside him before falling into the forest and being knocked out by a tree branch.
