Oh my God! It’s the last chapter! Thanks to everyone who review and supported me through writing this. Thanks to all of you so much.
Fatcat1138: Here’s the last update, it was a quick one too!
AureliusXsoul: You don’t need to apologize it was my fault. You see I tend to be completely oblivious to any signs pointing to it, sorry. Anyway, I’m happy that you liked the station scene because I was worried that it happened too fast. I was watching ‘Don’t Say a Word’, which is where I got the idea for this fic and I thought that Michael should die a similar way (My story isn’t much like the film at all, the only bit’s that’s similar is that a girl watches a murder and is relocated for her safety). About her being shot… that’s for me to know and for you to find out. ;)
Queen of Ravens: Thanks. Yup this is the last chap I hope you like it.
chittychittybangbang16: Okay, okay please don’t die on me!
KittyAuthor6: Really? Thanks a lot. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! We don’t have that over here.
Disney Villain: I definitely wouldn’t want Michael for a boyfriend or even a friend for that matter. Sometimes I wonder what Rachel saw in him.
Kool-Wolf: Thanks. I never get any alerts either and sometimes I get them a couple months late by the hundred!
deadinside72: Thanks, it means a lot to me. I’m glad you like this story. It’s isn’t my fault I’ve always been depressed and had low self esteem so I always put myself down. I’m slowly getting better though. :)
You people are the best!
This chap might be a bit confusing since it switches to Gar’s POV for a while.
8. Don’t Let Go.
(Garfield’s POV)
I watched in horror as Lilith’s amethyst eyes widened in shock and she clutched her stomach. She fell forward and I caught her, carefully I lowered her to the floor and pried her hands off her wound. It was deep and bleeding freely so I took off my shirt and pressed it hard against her. She gasped out in pain and clenched her teeth and fists.
“It’s gonna be okay Lilith.” I whispered and gently placed both of her hands back on her stomach. “You need to apply pressure to it, okay?” She nodded.
I looked up and saw the ticket inspector that I’d dodged but looking like he was about to faint.
I got out my cell phone and tossed it at him “Dude, don’t just stand there! Dial 911!”
Other people had come to see what all the commotion was about and a few came to help me. Although I was thankful for the help, I didn’t think that the attention was helping Lilith’s condition so I told them to give her some space.
I looked down at her; her face was turning paler and she looked exhausted. I could’ve stopped this from happening; it should be me in her situation.
“They’ll be here in ten minutes.” The inspector handed me back his phone.
Lilith groaned from the pain and I knew it was only a matter of time before she passed out. If they couldn’t get here then we’d have to go to them to make up time.
As gently as I could, I picked her up bridal style and ran as fast as I could out of the station. Everyone was watching us curiously and they all moved out of my way.
Once we were out of the station, I realized that I couldn’t go any further or we’d miss the ambulance completely. I cautiously lowered her to the floor and sat down beside her. I could see that my shirt was completely soaked in blood. I looked over at her face, her skin was almost white now and her eyes had lost their shine.
I wrapped my arms around her and she rested her head on my shoulder. I could feel my eyes burning but no tears would fall.
“Lilith, can you promise me one more thing?” I whispered.
“Yes?” She croaked out.
“Please, don’t let go.”
I could hear a siren. The ambulance! It was gradually getting louder as it neared us. Soon enough I saw it skidding around the corner and stopping in front of us. I felt the weight increase on my shoulder and I realized that she’d passed out from pain and exhaustion.
X(Rachel’s POV)
I could hear a regular beeping noise coming from something on my left. It was so annoying and interrupting my sleep. I swear, whatever Kori had bought to do that was going to suffer a very painful death.
Slowly, I managed to open my eyes but only to have to shut them again because of the brightness of the room she was in. Eventually I got my eyes to stay open and I looked around.
The room I was in was large a completely white, there were machines everywhere that were attached to wires that led to…me. My eyes widened when I realized just how many little probes were stuck to me. One by one I pulled them off each making a horrible sucking noise as they were pulled free.
As I reached for one on my stomach I saw a scar sown together with stitches just to the left. I felt a sudden déjà vu and all of the earlier events came back to me, leaving me feeling like someone had just punched me in the forehead.
I pulled back the covers and saw that I was dressed only in a hospital gown. Gradually, I stood up and tried walking. My legs felt like jelly and my scar was still sore but otherwise I was able to walk. As I headed for the exit I saw seven other people in beds around the ward. When I got to the door I saw a sign that read ‘Intensive Care’.
Was I really hurt that badly? I lifted my arm to grab the door, but the door was already opening on the other side. A familiar green haired boy stepped out. He looked so different, so depressed.
“Garfield?”
He looked up at me and our eyes met, I saw the emotion change in them, it had everything from confusion to happiness.
“Lilith!” He suddenly hugged me tightly. I was taken aback to say the least and my face turned a light shade of pink (damn hormones!).
“I-we were so worried about you. After the doctor said how faint your heartbeat was we didn’t think that you’d make it.” He said into my shoulder. I patted him on the back gently.
He pulled away and I decided to say something that had been prodding me in the back of my mind. “How long have I been here?”
“Let’s see…” He began counting the days on his fingers “About three weeks.”
Holy shit! No wonder they were worried about me, they could’ve pulled the plug on me by now.
“C’mon, everyone will be so happy to see you.” He grabbed me by the hand and led me to our friends, who were all as shocked as Garfield was at first.
“Friend! You have awoken!” Kori virtually flew at me and hugged me so tight that I thought that my spine would snap into two. Karen also ran up but she gave a much gentler hug.
Victor and Richard had to separate them from me. “Thanks” I managed to wheeze out, Kori had squeezed every last drop of air out of my lungs.
“Shouldn’t you be resting?” Richard asked, “Dr. Monetti hasn’t given you the all clear yet.”
“Yes friend! You must not become unwell again.” I groaned as Kori dragged me back to my bed. I sat up against the headboard. Everyone’s eyes were locked onto me.
“What?”
“Well we were wondering,” Victor paused “What the hell was going on? You can’t tell us nothing has happened because something has.”
I groaned and turned away in the hospital bed. “I’m too tired.”
“Lilith.” Garfield said sternly. “You promised you wouldn’t lie to me.”
I sighed, he was right (for once) and I did owe him my life. It’s over now anyway so I guess it doesn’t matter. They’re safe so surely I could tell them, couldn’t I?
“Ok, you might want to sit down this may take a while. It all started when my father came home from work one night, angrier than usual…”
I began telling them the story of why I was here and this time every bit of it was true. I told them about my family, the murder, Michael and my escape plan up until I got shot. I did leave out some bits though, like when Michael tried to hack me to pieces. I shuddered; some things are best kept to yourself. When I had finished their faces were priceless. It was like a mixture of shock, disbelief and completely dumbfounded.
“I told you that you wouldn’t believe me.”
“No we believe you.” Even Richard’s facial expression could be seen through his mirrored sunglasses.
“We just can’t believe that we let that happen to you.” Garfield finished; he was sitting next to my bed with his head in his hands. I placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
“It’s not your fault, you didn’t know.” He smiled up at me and my heart skipped a few beats. I felt like thumping it, seriously what’s the point in having one if it doesn’t even work properly?
“Hello? Lilith Nila?” A girl with black hair and red streaks came in. She was wearing blue scrubs with a clipboard in her hand and she spoke with a royal British accent.
“You’re awake? Oh okay then. I’m Toni and I’m here to give you a check up.” She walked over to me and did a few tests, writing down notes every now and then.
“Okay, you’re gonna have to take it easy for a while but apart from that you’re free to go.” She smiled and walked out of the room, muttering something about a patient with third degree burns.
“What about clothes?” I asked I didn’t exactly feel comfortable about going outside in a hospital gown.
“Do not fear friend for I have brought you some items of clothing.”
“She means she emptied your wardrobe for you.” Karen rolled her eyes as Kori held up five bags full of clothing.
“Uh…thanks. Could you guys leave while I change?” They all filed out as I picked the best things to wear and changed.
I picked up the rest of the bags and threw the horrible gown on the bed. When I left the ward I realized that only Gar was waiting there.
“Where are the others?”
“They went to go get the car.”
“All of them?”
“Yeah, that’s what I thought. But I wanted to talk to you anyway.” He sighed before carrying on. “Lilith-”
“Rachel” I corrected, I wasn’t gonna live a lie anymore.
“Yeah.” He laughed “It’s gonna take a while for me to get used to that. Anyway, I’m sorry for being such a jerk lately, I didn’t realize what you’d already been through and I thought you were hiding something. I’m sorry.”
“Gar, for the last time it’s not your fault. You didn’t know and to be perfectly honest I really didn’t mind.”
“You didn’t?”
“No, it was…nice not to be ignored.”
I looked into his eyes, something I thought I would never be able to do again. I saw the hurt look leave his eyes and they sparkled with happiness again. He stepped a little closer to me and stared down into my eyes. For a minute or so we just stood there in the corridor, both unable to move. And then he moved his face closer to mine and I tilted my head slightly. I knew what I had gotten myself into, but frankly I don’t care of the consequences anymore. I closed my eyes at the last moment possible.
He closed the gap between us and our lips met. I swear my heart stopped working there and then, but I didn’t care. His lips were so soft and the kiss was gentle and almost shy. I pulled away and looked into his emerald eyes again. I wrapped my arms around him and buried my head in his chest.
“Let’s go home.” I whispered
XAs me, Kori and Karen arrived home I noticed a small envelope addressed to me on the floor. I picked it up and dashed into my room. Once inside I locked the door and ripped open the letter.
As I scanned through it my eyes watered more and more until tears escaped and dropped onto the paper, causing the ink to blot.
It was a letter from the court of justice. My father had been executed yesterday by the electric chair. What’s worse is that I’m the reason that happened to him. I was his executioner.
I killed my own father.
XThe end
Well that’s all folks! I hope you enjoyed the last chapter of my story! Ugh, the fluff was crap. I’m crap at writing fluff and I don’t really like to either. But I thought it fitted nicely and it can’t be a Drama/Romance story without some sort of fluff.
I hate sappy endings though so I decided to add a little on the end. :P
Please review! I know some people aren’t cause I have about 900 hits for this and 42 reviews. I can’t believe how many people DID review though.
I’m still thinking about a blooper reel, should I or shouldn’t I?
See ya soon
