Failure is not an option.
For people like Jim and Alex, they are more then just words, they are a lifestyle. They've heard them all their lives. Never fail at school, never fail at your job, never fail to take one step further.
Too bad their parents forgot to mention how hard it is to fail in love.
Jim likes to think he knows what it is, whereas Alex has no idea.
Little do they know, because to them, love equals sex equals eachother.
They failed so many times over the last 7 years. All the fights ending in slamming doors and harsh words and rough meaningless sex against the kitchen counter. They'd always be sorry, and they'd always fail again.
When she died, he realised just how much he loved failing with her. How he missed baiting her, coaxing her. He realised how wrong it was.
Since she came back, he feels like whatever it is they call love has only become stronger, hungrier, rougher. Robert is never an issue, neither is Jessica. Failing other people doesn't concern them when it comes to love.
Sometimes, when he watches her in the courtroom, or working in her office, he thinks about how she's got everybody fooled. Never fail in court, never fail as a boss and a prosecutor.
It's hard to fail at loving someone when you can't appreciate it for what it is.
