Affection

Notes: Because there definately isn't enough Chip/Timmy love in FanFiction, and it's like... freggin' cannon. This is my second OTP in this series. :D

Timmy stares at the sleeping teenager beneath him, running a hand absentmindedly through the tangled hair. He sighs softly, wondering, after this, when again? Chip is such a busy person and sometimes Timmy wishes he wasn’t famous so he could be around more. He misses the older boy. They’d grown close and somehow, even though he was still young, Chip had learned to trust him to relieve stress (Wanda had indeed been right – talking about his problems did actually make Chip feel a little better).

Timmy rests his head on Chip’s chest, listening to the steady and calm heartbeat through the layers of clothing. Jet lag has taken Chip into a dream land and while Timmy is a little unhappy that he would sleep through part of his visit, he is glad the man was there at all. Affectionately, Timmy caresses the man’s cheek, listening as he sighs softly in his sleep.

Timmy curls up, wrapping his arms tighter around Chip’s slim waist, remembering his arrival and wondering if he was at all cold. Feeling for his hands in the dark room, Timmy finds that they are freezing, despite having been in his warm room for a while. He attempts to pull away from Chip but the strong arm around his waist tightens ever so slightly and Chip’s voice flows out of his mouth as though he’s singing once more, “Don’t go…”

“But…” Timmy trails off slightly, finding the sleepy eyes of the teen almost impossible to argue with, “You’re cold,” he protests weakly.

Chip chuckles even though he’s still half asleep and pulls the boy back closer to him. “And you were doing a damn good job of keeping me warm until you moved… Wanna stay here with me?” Timmy giggles and blushes, nodding his head and resting his head back on Chip’s chest. “Timmy… You won’t ever stop being here for me, will you?”

Timmy looks at the man’s closed eyes, surprised and the furrowed brows. He wants to know more of what Chip is thinking, but it’s out of his power. But he nods and assures the man, “Never.”

Chip sighs softly, running his hand affectionately through the growing boy’s hair. He knows that soon they will not be able to do this. He will never be allowed to hold the boy this close nor will he be able to kiss his forehead without the suspicions of a title very few would want dangling over his head.

Chip sighs again, wishing for not the first time in his life that time would freeze, that way he could watch Timmy all he wanted to. Somehow, Chip can’t quite push down the hope for a future with the boy, even though he knows in time that that kind of hope could do nothing but hurt him if things don’t work out like he wants them to.

He’s not sure what made him like this. What made him like Timmy this way, want Timmy this way. He’d never push the boy into anything he didn’t want, but somehow Chip wonders if his patience will wane. For both their sakes, he hopes not. But the painful six year difference causes such a problem and thinking of his first kiss with the boy – with anyone would be at twenty-four makes him wince.

And while tonight is the worst night of his life because after midnight he’s going to be eighteen and he’ll never be able to do this ever again, he’s going to enjoy it while he still can. He’s not going to let go of hope or of Timmy until…

Chip figures Timmy knows just a little bit how he feels from the way he acts, or otherwise he wouldn’t blush like that when he held his hand. He’s not going to underestimate Timmy because he knows at twelve that a lot of the time you can know a lot more than you let on.

But for now, until Timmy steps forward or he has to just plain wait it out, he can always settle for affectionate looks and lingering touches.
