Notes: Thanks to Stormy-neesan for loving SM and being there for sessions of brainstorming!

I believe in nothing. Once, I believed in her, but that was in a time long ago, and a place that doesn't exist anywhere except in the dreams of children.

I love him now, but I do not trust him. If Beryl demanded it, he would kill me. Perhaps he would not be without regret, but I would still be dead. Comforting thought.

I remember her. The feel of the short hair against my chin as I tucked her to me, the scent of her delicate perfume, her slim body encased in her elegant, yet indestructible, uniform of her duty. Her eyes were so beautiful- I loved those soft blue eyes.

Why did I betray her? I wish I knew. Perhaps then I could understand myself, and who I have become better. We were so happy together- my fellow Kings and I were each beloved by a planetary princess, and we couldn't want for more. Stunning Venus, temperamental Mars, strong Jupiter, shy Mercury- they were ours to love. They were- but now when I see them, I feel nothing but the deepest hate. A hate so intense it threatens to devour and consume me, driving me even more insane then I already am.

Beryl must have really screwed with my mind- I recognize that, but I don't care. Looking into those innocent blue eyes fills me with rage. How can she not know me, the one whom she swore was her soul mate?

She will die, and I pray it will be by my hand. I want to see her die. I want to watch the light dim in her eyes as she realizes that there will be no tomorrow for her.

I watched her die once before, though- how come she didn't stay dead? How many times must I kill her before she accepts it?
