A.N: Thanks for the reviews my good people. For your kind words, I present to you the second of my series

Purely on my ideas, aside from the idea of Chi-hime, which comes from Black Cat, and Banji and Touji, from Samurai deeper, anything unrelated to the Naruto Canon is my own idea. At least as far as I’m aware

Disclaimer: I don’t own Naruto

The green haired man smiled happily as he slowly walked his way underneath the forest boughs, smiling lazily at the light of the sun. It was a very good day he decided, most agreeable, so much so he decided to go on a short walk, only a few weeks or so, just to pass the time.

Since his taking the mantle of a forest protector, he’d been struck by how very hurried Humans were, so frightfully busy. He suspected that was what caused such a frightful mess with all that war, but he decided not to look into it yet, maybe in a few years, in between a nap or two. Even the delightful Naruto child, forest raised, seemed entirely too energetic. He thanked heaven they only trained together once a year, when he taught him a new technique, for the boy was so rambunctious it wore the elder man out…

Still it was a joy to see a child so full of life, and he was deeply fond of the boy, and was very proud when his hair turned green (though the Shodai had initially been surprised and a little appalled at the change in his own hair, he’d eventually agreed that it was a very fetching shade).

Being immortal had initially been a bit of a conundrum for the man, it seemed to pose a few moral issues, but they were quickly resolved, he’d be tending to the forest after all, but the real problem was what was he going to do? Well soon he had ceased to worry about such things, as it turned out time management was the key, learning from the trees he’d come to enjoy everything at a nice sedate pace, and was far happier than ever before.

Thinking of his time management, he realised it was his month to make a move on the chess game he had stored away in his mind against Gaea, that they’d started some four or five decades ago. He was currently two points up but that seemed set to change. Sitting down under a particularly old tree, remembering he’d spent an entire day there the year before delighting in a particularly interesting knot on one branch, he mused a little, before coming to his conclusion with startling rapidity. Unfortunate really, he was hoping he’d have a good think about it for a couple of days or so, but the answer had come quickly. Sending off a thought to the trees around to carry his message, he laughed as they all gave a delighted little shiver. They liked to feel useful bless them, and he indulged them from time to time.

Deciding at least he would get a good grumble out of his mind’s unusual speed for a few days he got up lethargically, and began to walk again, wondering if one of these days he should choose a direction. He enjoyed a good grumble, allowed one to make some wonderfully amusing facial expressions, delightful really, as it meant you couldn’t grumble, and so you could grumble about not grumbling, and so on and forth

He’d spent a month in such a state of grumbling happiness before, terribly good fun; he’d been meaning to do it again.

Having stood cogitating for quite some time he was startled by the sound of an eagle. Now the Shodai liked being startled while cogitating, it gave him the pleasure of starting over in his ponderings, a task which took most of his time anyway. An eagle though, an eagle was special, the pontificating could wait if an eagle was near him, that meant the little child had sent him a missive. He hadn’t expected so much excitement this week, he really should try and curb it less next week seem dull by comparison, but he was jolly excited as Naruto was to tell him of his new life, as well as send him some tea leaves he’d never tried before.

He called the bird down, which happily landed on his outstretched arm, and he admired for a few minutes while it preened it’s feathers before it impatiently held out it’s leg, demanding it’s burden be lifted. Laughing slightly at the poor beleaguered animal he graciously took the scroll from the animal’s limb, and allowed it to fly off, doubtless to hunt somewhere,. Breaking the seal of the fox on the front, he unfurled the scroll, and prepared for a good read.

“Ohayo Jii-san,” Such informality brought a chuckle of mirth to the Forest Lord’s lips, he’d never taught the boy such manners, it was probably the wolves. In fact he put down the letter to enjoy the chuckle for a few minutes further. Laughter was there to be enjoyed. “Konoha’s really cool, Sarutobi-jiji is ok, but he looked so much older now… I guess people do, but it’s quite sad not everyone’s like us eh?” The Shodai had held similar sentiments on numerous occasions, but had not voiced them in front of his young, well apprentice he supposed, so was proud the boy had come to the same idea. It was a shame that death was so necessary, he freely admitted that, but without death there would be no reason to have children, and the Shodai knew that to be the greatest joy of the all. Now every creature born to the forest was his to help raise. Father earth, some of the animals called him, and he allowed it, it was easier for them to understand than Shodai.

“I met some girls! They’re really strange but cool, all curvy and cute, and so huggable! Kind of like how Banji is cuddly, but not I guess, don’t know, but oh well!” Though the scrawl was barely readable the exuberance of the once fair-haired child shone threw and made the man smile. This truly was an exciting day, and he had something to tease the blonde about whenever the boy returned. He said he wouldn’t be gone for more than a few years. Splendid! Always nice to have something to look forward to, allows the time to pass at a pleasant rate.

“I got you some tea it’s really nice, they use to chakra to change the soil or something, sounded weird but can’t argue with results ne? The tin’s got some random summoning seals on it, so I can add more tea my end and you’d get it your end, or at least, that’s how it’s supposed to work…” The Forest lord beamed happily, such a thoughtful boy, always thinking of others. And it sounded like he was having fun, which was simply splendid. A boy needs human friends, he’d decided, and it was high time he had them. Plus it meant he’d a have a few years of stories to tell, which always brightened up a dreary day.

“Anyway I got to go, but I promise I’ll write each week. Say Hi to the wolves for me, Banji says he’s doing great too. From Naruto” The Shodai was very happy indeed, he had something to look forward to each week… He honestly felt a little spoiled. He folded away the scroll and collected the tea, before deciding to walk on a bit. A few hours passed, and he decided to hum.

Yes, it had been an exciting day.

The sun was rising in the east when Hinata finally awoke. Bleary, she squinted as the rays hit her eyes, and she rubbed them fervently, dispelling the hazy cloud of sleep. And saw where she’d slept: completely naked; on a couch; on top of a shirtless Naruto, her towel lying discarded some distance away. It was oddly, she struggled to find the right word, liberating in a way, to go from her multiple layers around her close family, even in summer, to walking around candidly nude with an almost complete stranger, even going so far as to spend the night sleeping together. Such an extreme change, well it was refreshing.

She supposed she should feel dirty, or tainted, or ashamed for besmirching the Hyuuga name, but she didn’t. She felt happier than ever before and with that thought wriggled deeper into his embrace, revelling in the feel of his smooth skin rubbing against hers, and took in his scent. It was the forest, quintessentially so, and like Hanabi had said it was wonderfully soporific. As she dozed she idly thought of just how she’d come to be in a situation.

The dryer, it seemed, was new, and hadn’t worked exactly as her friend wanted it to, apparently he’d never seen one before, so he’d had to set it up again, and once they were confident it was actually drying the clothes, they’d sat down to watch the television, something he was fascinated with, her dropping her towel again in the process, and eventually giving up on it altogether. He’d taken off his shirt at one point or another, and she had made a point to shift closer and closer to him, cherishing the look of mixed lust and discomfort in his eyes. It felt nice to be attractive, she thought. Anyway that must have been when they’d fallen asleep.

She felt his body stir underneath, and she felt that heavenly friction once more, before returning to the realm of dreams.

Naruto on the other hand, was very much awake, and had been hoping the girl would return to sleep, as he wasn’t quite sure why she was acting the way she was, and it was affecting him… strangely. Waiting a moment, still savoring the feel of her supple flesh against his own, hardened muscle, he allowed her to fall deeper into sleep, before taking her arm, and rolling her upwards, so he could slide out. Unfortunately, or fortunately as the puberty-induced side of his brain kept telling him, this caused her to lie on her back, giving him an achingly beautiful view.

Thinking quickly, in the hope of finding time to cool down, he saw a bag with a collection of blankets and sheets that a rough-looking chuunin had delivered the day before, and taking a thin white covering he laid it down upon the sleeping cutie, who stirred a little, before subconsciously pulling it tight over her. This posed a bit of a problem, as thin white sheets are famously translucent, so still little was left to the imagination; but at least it helped. Had he used anything else he’d be in danger of waking the girl, an exceptionally rude thing to do.

He was surprised when she didn’t even murmur when his brother’s loose interpretation of knocking sounded at the main door, the rhythmic pounding sounded like he was trying to take the thing off its hinges. Sending a mental command of “Stop it,” he gained a little peace, before lifting the bar to the main door and letting the beast in.

“What was that noise for?” The question was almost rhetorical, he had a fair idea of the animal’s idea of fun.

“Had to make sure you’d answer,” wolves, as a rule, cannot pull off an innocent expression, and this particular creature was no exception.

“You could have just used telepathy!”

“Now where’s the fun in that?” Bloody beast, the boy knew he was only doing it for fun. But at least it did have the added advantage of testing the strength of a door. If it withstood a two-ton beast of colossal strength hurling itself at it, then the beam was strong enough to withstand any shinobi.

He noticed the blood on the huge teeth and asked the inevitable question “Good hunting?”

“Yup, first it weren’t two great, only catching rabbit, bite-size things they are…”

“Lovely”

“But then I took down a stag, wonderful chase, under the moonlight. Spry thing it was, I ran it down after ten miles…”

The lupine grin grew wider as his eyes took on a nostalgic state, walking towards the kitchen. His eyes glazed as he slumped down, curled in a corner, but Naruto soon felt like interjecting into his little fantasy. “And you couldn’t bring home a leg, venison is good meat.”

I know, I was the one eating it.”

Ungrateful sod…” The string of cerebral curses was cut short by the entrance of the former sleeping beauty, wrapped in the cloth he’d laid on her, and her obvious anxiety at waking alone. Looking at the two, the disquiet passed to confusion as she saw the boy glaring at his partner.

Is she of the little one’s pack?” At his brother’s affirmation he dipped his head a little to the girl, speaking a greeting in the human tongue, which turned into a sound half-way between a purr and a guffaw as she stiffly returned the bow, cheeks red from utter shock. “You’re pretty formal for a girl barely wearing anything at all.” The blush strengthened, before sensitivity and alarm send the girl into a dead faint.

A diving Naruto caught the girl before she hit the floor, and turning he threw another glower at his snickering brother, before carrying her back to the sofa. Once more in the kitchen, he sent another curse at the oversized pup, sending the wolf into further fits of laughter.

Hinata was finding it to be an irritatingly familiar routine. Her eyelids flutter blearily, she takes in her surroundings, realise she was on the couch alone and get a little panicky. The wolf had embarrassed her so much; she went red thinking about it, that she’d fainted in front of Naruto-kun. Realising she didn’t have a headache, unlike her usual black-outs, he must have caught her. The thought of Naruto’s hands touching her body like that were exhilarating, she took in a gasp of air as her imagination began to canter, but reined herself in. She needed to find the boy. Finally getting dressed, she went to find the boy

Breakfast was a welcome addition to the table as she sat down, and the cloth she wore was equal to the task of staying together, unlike the towel of the previous night. The meal was not quite the heavenly dish she’d had for dinner, but the plate of bread and cheese suited her well, a healthy combination for a training day. Once she was done, having run her tongue along her lips for stray crumbs, she stood again, walking to the table opposite where the enigmatic green-haired boy was bent over, seemingly in deep concentration.

“What are you doing?” He looked startled, apparently he hadn’t heard her movement, so focused was he, but he settled down soon enough.

“Keys.” She repeated the word with the tiny inflection of a question, for they appeared to be seals on paper. “They are for passing the security seals I’m going to set up.” She nodded her assent, and saw that he’d stopped at five. He answered the silent question quickly, “Me, that great lummox,” she laughed at the comical face of disgust as he gestured to the slumbering giant, “Jii-san, you and Chi-hime.” Hinata thought it quite and honour that he was ready to give her the key to his house with only a day’s acquaintance, and watched, awed, at the technique he began performing.

It involved gathering chakra to his hands, which shone a blue far darker than she’d ever seen before, and when he held it over the paper she saw the ink lift off perfectly. Such control of his chakra was amazing, not a single drop spilled, and with his empty right hand he shrugged up a sleeve, and the chakra went to indigo, and forcing the seal onto his forearm, it bound there, and disappeared. The arm started violently twisting.

At first she was terrified for him, but him own calm demeanor kept her from hysteria. So she managed, albeit hesitantly, to ask why.

“Chakra reacts to three things, will, nerves, and muscle. On another person, or another part of the body the reverse is true. You can, with chakra, affect their will, sensations, and muscle control.” She suddenly had a rather lurid sort of idea at the word sensations, but quashed it completely.

When the spasms acquiesced, he gathered his chakra again, ripping the seal from its mount, and whistled to the wolf to come over. The ears pricked first, then the tail rose, and feet retreated from his face to reveal the hidden eyes. The wolf snarled at the disturbance, bearing still bloody fangs, before sighing and lumbered its way on straight limbs to the human-girl and his brother. He never consider his brother human, he was raised a child of the forest and would stay that way, however long he was with the human tribes.

Naruto held the seal to the belligerent animal’s ear, and saw the successful transfer as it sunk into the fur and skin beneath. The wolf’s ears flattened and he whimpered a little, pawing at the strange thing, but a reassuring thought from the green-haired boy kept him quiet. He curled up back in the corner, ears still flat on his head, and tried sleep once more.

Hinata waited patiently as removing the next key, he placed it on her arms and let it attach itself naturally. She was terrified by the feeling of her arm starting to twitch, she couldn’t control it, but as always he had the answer. He gave her a tender hug, not letting go until the spasms had stopped. She held him there a moment later, delighting in his scent, before deciding it was time to let go.

Glancing at a nearby clock, she was shocked to see she had but an hour until training, and though her father knew where she was he’d be most displeased if she was late. Sticking her courage, she reached up and gave the young man she’d befriended a chaste kiss on the lips, before wishing him goodbye.

He followed her to the door, where she gave him another hug, and run off, turning only as she was about to leave his sight, to see him waving at her. She waved, before turning back, a silly grin on her pale features

Smiling as if she’d lived for the very first time..

A.N: Well that’s it the latter half Is modified from what I had for months the former I just wrote. Updates? No idea…
