Kisses

When she first saw him again, after so many years it brought back the memory of the first time she recognized his taste.

She had seen this moment, of course, with her millennium item, but she hadn't known, realized the feelings that would go with it. Because the future was not all her millennium item had shown her. She had seen flashes, glimpses, images of the past, of her past, in the ancient times.

And while it terrified her, it excited her in the same time, because in that ancient life she had known and seen and done so many things she wasn't sure she would be ever able to do in this life time. And that had been something her millennium item hadn’t shown her, because there were certain things that both of her lives had in common.

The obvious ones were of course, her loyalty to the pharaoh, her sense of duty and of course, her millennium item.

The less obvious one was the knowledge of his taste.

She had always known what his kisses tasted like.

Back in Ancient Times when they shared furtive glances and snuck secret kisses behind pillars. When she felt his hard chest, concealed with Egyptian cotton, press against hers and in turn press her against the hard surface behind her. And she knew, knew what his kisses tasted like.

When they stood together, side by side, members of the pharaoh's Sacred Court, chosen by the millennium items themselves, she knew what his kisses tasted like. When he was self assured and cocky, confident, slightly and deliciously arrogant she knew the taste of his kisses.

In this life it had been something her millennium item had to show her, triggered by the memory of this blue eyed man.

It was the same yet slightly different in this time, this life, the knowledge was there before the experience.

In this time, the kisses were just as aggressive as they had always been yet different, filled with an unspoken need to be loved and love in return. In this time, he kissed her until she was lying on his desk and he was climbing on top off her, smirking and drawing her in.

In this time he kissed her gently as he slipped a ring on her finger and she was swept off her feet by this blue eyed man. In this time he kissed her palm in reassurance as she gave birth to his child, their child.

And while she may have had things and done things and seen things in that ancient life that she would never experience in this life, she would have things and do things and see things in this life that never happened in the ancient past.

But in between, in the search of that knowledge she had always known the taste of his kisses.

Whether she was Isis or Ishizu, whether he was Seth or Seto, she had always known the taste of his kisses.

They tasted like the sea, like freedom, like the ever changing tides.
