Male Yale Party, at the pool house after Dean Break's up with Rory.
"So Rory, now that there are no longer a boyfriend you can finally pick me!" Finn says flopping down on the couch next to her.
"Thanks for the offer Finn but you're just not my type."
"What about me then, Ace?" Logan asks smirking.
"Sorry Logan but you're like another Tristan or something."
"Tristan?" Logan asks.
"Tristan DuGrey."
"You know Tristan DuGrey?" Finn asks surprised.
"Yeah I went to Chilton with him, god he was like the biggest ass ever, kept calling me Mary."
Finn and Logan share a look before they both kneel in front of Rory.
"Guys what are you doing?" Colin asks he has been inside the house to get some more champagne.
"We are acknowledging our deep respect for the girl who won my dear cousins heart Colin," Logan says as he and Finn stand back up.
"Rory just told us that she is; 'the most beautiful and innocent girl you could imagine, but with a fire burning on the inside'," Finn says in a dreamy voice.
"No way, you're Tristan's Mary?" Colin asks shocked and in disbelieve.
"First of all I'm not Tristan's anything, and second of all how the hell do you know Tristan?"
"He's Logan's cousin," Colin says sitting down between Finn and Rory. "Now Rory tell me, have you chosen yet? I mean with that farmer boy out of the picture you must chose a new boyfriend, I myself am willing."
"Actually Colin, I have chosen, I chose…"
"Rory are you out here?" Richards's voice can be heard from the house.
"Oh bloody hell!" Finn shrieks starting to gather the empty bottles of various types of alcohol.
"Just a minute grandpa!" Rory tries to get up but instantly flops back down, "I feel dizzy," she says leaning her head on Colin's shoulder.
"I think you might have had a tad too much to drink Ace," Logan says with his smirk firmly in place, "I think you might need a ride home with us."
"Yeah," Rory says putting her hand on her forehead.
"Rory, I'm coming over!" Richards's voice can be heard yet again. All the boys start to quickly clean p the pool house except for Logan and Colin who are trying to get Rory to stand.
"Rory are you okay?" Colin asks just as Rory passes out into his arms, "Logan you've been with her all night, how much has she had to drink?"
"I don't know a bottle of champagne I think."
"Logan does she look like much of a drinker to you?" Colin asks angrily while gently laying Rory down on the couch. Logan shakes his head no. "We need to get her grandfather."
All the boys stop what they are doing to look at Colin, "Mate, how much have YOU had to drink?" Finn asks.
"Guys I'm serious, she needs to lie down and sleep and we need to get her into a bed, we need to tell Richard."
The guys look at each other before Logan sighs deeply, "I'll go get him."
Colin offeres his friend a forced but thankful smile and starts to lay Rory down on the couch with a pillow under her head, "Rory?" Colin asks stroking a strand of loose hair away from her face.
"What!" they hear Richard yell from the outside before he bursts through the door, "Rory!" he says kneeling down next to Colin.
"We're sorry sir, we didn't think she had had that much to drink," Colin says his eyes drifting away from Rory for only a second to speak with the older man.
"How much has she had?" Richard asksd standing up.
"Logan says she's had at least a bottle of champagne, more if you count what she's had before Dean broke up with her," Colin answers not leaving Rory's side.
"Logan, I'm highly disappointed in you, I thought my granddaughter would be safe in your presence, obviously I was wrong. Young men, the party is over."
All the guys hurry out of the pool house and to their respected rides except Colin, Logan and Finn.
"Well?" Richard asks looking at them, Finn and Logan are standing nervously trying to get Colin's attention so they can leave but Colin is focused on Rory.
"Hmm…Oh sorry sir," Colin says embarrassed.
Finn smirks, Logan glares and Richard smiles at him, "That's all right, you seem to care quite a lot for Rory…I'm sorry I don't recall your name at the moment," Richard says as Colin stands up still keeping half an eye on Rory.
"Colin McRae sir, I actually wasn't ushered an invite, I just tagged along with Mr Morgan and Mr. Huntzberger."
"McRae…that sounds awfully familiar. Tell me are you by any chance related to Marcus McRae?"
"Yes he's my grandfather, but I didn't know you knew him," Colin says his eyes darting to Rory between every word.
"Oh yes, back when my daughter was a child we socialized quiet a lot with Strobe and Francine Hayden, if I remember correctly they are your godparents?"
"Yes they are."
An awkward silence spread amongst them before Rory starts to move, "Grandpa? What happened? Where am I?"
Colin sits down and takes Rory's hand, "Shh reporter girl relax. You had a little too much to drink so you passed out. Oh and you're in your grandparents pool house," he explains softly all the time stroking her hand gently.
"Rory you never told us who it would be, I bet you're just dying for some Australian love!"
"Sorry to disappoint you Finny, but you were right about the dying thing though, my head is killing me."
"Rory go back to sleep, I'll go clear out the house so you can go lay in your own bed. Colin I trust you to keep an eye on her while I'm gone?"
"Don't worry Mr. Gilmore, he'll keep both his eyes on her, three if he had," Finn said in his normal cheery tone.
Colin glared at him but quickly shifted his glance back to Rory, "Go back to sleep Rory, I'm here if you need me."
"Thanks Colin…By the way…I choose you."
