A New Friend

Author’s note: Hello, this is JainaSkylar! Here is my Code Lyoko story starring my character, Audrey. This takes place during Season Two so don’t correct me if everything doesn’t go according to the last episode or Seasons Three and Four when they come out, okay:D If you are currently reading IIL, I am putting that story on hold and going to write this story first, so, don’t get your hope up that I’m going to update soon:D So, without further ado, Chapter One! Enjoy!

Audrey stood in her old room, looking around one last time. She had shoulder-length light brown hair and soft brown eyes. She wore a light pink spaghetti strap shirt that hung loosely from her body and Capri jeans with pink sandals. She was moving, yet again. She was only fourteen and yet she had lived in five countries. In order, she had lived in the United States, England, Germany, Russia, and Mexico. Now she was moving all across the ocean to France. Her dad was an architect who had buildings of his design popping up in different countries and they had to go and supervise the building. Mexico had been her home for the past four years. She had made several friends and hated to lose them. She was now fourteen and had been asked out by several boys in Mexico, but she never did go out with any of them. Sure, she had crushes on them, but she never went beyond that; she had learned the hard way that you can lose someone in an instant and you can’t do anything about it. If it was this hard for her to lose her friends, how much harder would it be for her to lose a boyfriend? Suddenly, she felt a soft body rubbing up against her leg and a purring. She looked down at her cat, named Carmelita for her light brown color.

She picked up her cat and held her close. Carmelita looked Audrey in the eye and mewed softly. Audrey slightly laughed and nuzzled Carmelita’s nose. “Let’s go.” Audrey said. She left her room for the last time.

The plane ride to France took about fifteen hours. Audrey was dead tired because in Mexico, it was about three in the morning; Audrey had never stayed up past midnight and she had already been up since two yesterday. When they arrived at the airport and had gotten their bags, Audrey’s father led the way to the rental car. They packed their bags in the trunk and the back of the car where Audrey wasn’t sitting. Carmelita’s cat carrier lay on Audrey’s lap while Audrey slept, even though it was 11 o’clock in France then.

The next thing Audrey remembered was waking up in a room that wasn’t her room. Then she remembered what had happened that morning. She jumped out of bed and startled Carmelita who was sleeping beside her. Audrey ran to the window and flung open the curtains. It was now 5 o’clock in France and the sun was starting to get low in the horizon. Audrey, still in her pajamas, ran into where the kitchen was in her new house. Audrey’s mom was there. “Audrey, sweetie, what is it?”

Audrey looked around at the French-style architecture in the room. She looked again at her mom. “I don’t know.”

Her mom walked over to her. “This is going to take some getting used to. But fortunately, you have two months to get over the jetlag, and then you’re going back to school. You’re father and I have been talking and, well,” she paused as she walked back over to her seat. “How would you like to go to a private school while we’re here in France?”

Audrey could hardly believe her ears. She had always wanted to go to a private school. Not to get away from her parents or anything, but, Audrey like challenges. And the courses at private schools were more advanced. “A-A private school?” Audrey asked. Her mom nodded, excitement shining in her eyes.

“You’d be living at the school, in a dorm, but you can still come and live here over the weekends.” She handed Audrey a brochure for the school. Audrey took it willingly and started looking over it. She stopped suddenly. She looked at her mom and asked,

“What about Carmelita? Can she go with me? I don’t wanna go if she can’t come with me.”

Her mom looked down for a moment as she said, “School policy is that there are no pets allowed on-campus…” she looked up suddenly, very cheerful, “But we talked to the principal about how much she means to you, and he said it was okay!” she blurted out.

Audrey looked at her mom in wonder. Suddenly, as all the new sank in, she jumped up and down and squealed in delight. Her mom jumped up, too, and they practically ran to Audrey’s room to start planning.
