MEMORIES

Chapter 1

"Cloud...take the ship to the Northern Cave. The time for flying is now past. Our battlefield is now beneath the earth...The gate to tomorrow is not the light of heaven, but the darkness of the depths of the earth...." Vincent shouted to their leader as they came to the bridge of the Highwind. Just a few minutes later, the ship landed at the northern cave. Then the fight started. It was a long hard fight, every attack was harder than the last. Vincent almost fell to his knees when it was done. Then the ship they had come on fell, they boarded, Cid grabbed a switch and the ship took flight once again.....after that......what was after that? 'How...who...when?!?!?!'

His eyes flew open. His heart was beating so fast it was about to burst. After a short time it slowed to normal. Looking around he saw only darkness and a few shadows lurking around the room. Then there was a noise-a door perhaps, and then Light surrounded the room. It was so bright he shut his eyes. Who was there, was it a friend or....someone from ShinRa.........or was shinRa co. their friend? He was a Turk after all. After a few seconds he opened his eyes and looked around, he knew this place.....or did he.......was it a lab....no it was a medical office, was he at a city? He went down the list. 'Tifa and Cloud are from Nibelheim this isn't Nibelheim at all. Red XIII came from Cosmo Canyon, Cid was from Rocket Town, and Yuffie from Wutai, none of those. Barret for from Midgar right? But it was destroyed, and then there was Cait Sith who was realy IN Midgar. So where am I?'

His train of thought was interrupted by a voice, he looked over and focused
on it. "I said how are you feeling?"

"I'm fine." He didn't even realize the pain. 'What happened? Did the ship blow up, is that why I'm here?' he was interrupted again.

"Can you say your name for me?"

"Vincent...Valentine."

"Do you know where you are?"

Vincent looked around once more. "No......" Then he looked to the girl who was standing there, he remembered her from someplace but.....

"I have to give you some medicine ok?" With out an answer she started to shove the needle into his arm. "This should stop the pain for now." She set it back on the table and pushed her hair out of her eyes. "Do you think you can stand?"

He nodded in reply, he tried to stand with out holding on to anything but fell. "Ok maybe you should just stay here for now I'll be back later." She helped him back on to the bed then left.

Vincent closed his eyes then started to think to himself. 'Who is she, have I ever met her before? Why would a doctor where a black suit......... More importantly who....who am I???? Vincent was or is my name I know that. And my friends what are their names...Tifa.....Cloud.......Red..XIII..........Cid..............and that girl Yuff..i....e and then B.....ar.........................who?!?!?!..........Tifa........Cloud....who are they, are they the enemy?
No I don't even know.......what were those names again??????...........Ti...f...............no my
friends are..... ...........the Turks......Reno.....Reeve...Tseng.........'

~~out side the med lab~~

The young red haired man looked up from the news paper that he wasn't really reading. "So what'd he say?"

"Don't talk to loud!" The girl scolded. "He's hurt and needs rest Reno."

Reno was now standing. "You know what I think Elena?"

Elena started to walk to the door. "You have the right to your opinions, I just don't want to hear them right now ok."

Reno continued on talking as she walked away. "I think you just want a new shoulder to cry on, isn't that right? I mean since Tsang isn't here and he's a nice replac-"

Elena walked back to him and slaped hi in the face him. "You have no right to talk about Tsang....." She walked back to the door and left.

"OK fine I see how it is. Lets just get this over with and go home, or what s left of it."

Vincent had the same dream again but this time it went a little further.......The ship was flying once again. Meteor was about to crash down on the earth then holy came but did nothing then the life stream came and 'what no I need to know what happened please.'

"Damn!" Vincent sat up and looked around his room and then to the clock. "3:26 am, Damn what's wrong with me. And who the hell is Cloud?....." He turned on the light. "Where the hell am I...." He looked around and started to remember, I'm a Turk have been for years, but what's up with those dreams.....well it doesn't matter now does it. He turned off the light and went back to bed.

~~In the Highwind~~

"Hey Red you ok?"

The lion like animal stood up. "Yes Yuffie I'm fine, lets get the others."

Yuffie stood up and walked to Barret who was sitting by one of the walls. "You ok?"

"Yep."

Yuffie looked over by Cloud who was sitting by Tifa. Then she walked to Cid, instead of seeing if he was ok she sarcastically commented. "Nice landing Cid, really good job you almost killed all of us!" She ended her remark but patting him on the back.

Cid looked at her with a disgusting look then to the others. "Hey we're missing someone."

Yuffie looked around. "Um...who?!?!?!"

Cid got to his feet then smacked Yuffie in the back of her head, "Vincent you dumb Fuck!!"

"Oh....oh yeah right"

Cloud looked around the ship. "Hey on the floor over there are those tracks of mud?"

The rest looked over. "Yep, those are foot prints and they lead right to where Vincent was standing." Barret pointed out.

There was a short pause that Yuffie broke. "So how did Vincent get mud on his feet well in here and walk backwards out the door???"

Cid smacked Yuffie in the back of the head again but this time didn't try to explain that some one else walked in to the ship with mud on there shoes.
