Yes! I’m finally back with another chapter! Sorry for the long delay I’ve been somewhat lazy and mainly working on other stories that have caught my eye for a while now. But now I’m back with another chapter that I hope you will approve of.

Chapter 7: The Bait

Koga raced down the dirt road towards Kagome’s farm following the miko’s scent along with her “savior’s” scent.

Something about this whole situation doesn’t seem right. Mainly that guy had something weird about him. He’s no human that’s for sure!’ He lowered his head in a soft growl, ‘Just by judging by that guy’s punch and how he leaped away so fast just proves there’s something up with that guy!
“But what pisses me off that most…” Koga told himself loudly as his growl became harsher, “That guy smells of dog!” His blood began to boil, “And there is no way I am losing Kagome to that mutt smelling bastard!”

But besides all that…’ Koga thought to himself, ‘His scent is the same smell that I picked up at Kagome’s farm.

“How far are we from your castle?” Kagome asked her hanyou friend as she rode as his back as he leaped through the forest to reach his castle.

“We shouldn’t be that far.” Inuyasha informed her while keeping his eyes on the path that he was taking, “Probably only a mile to go.”

“Good.” The young miko sighed in relief before groaning as she leaned her head forward and laid it on Inuyasha’s shoulder.

Inuyasha’s eyes went wide when he felt her head on his shoulder. He glanced at her as his cheeks turned light pink, ‘How can this girl be warming up to me so fast? I swear I think there is something seriously wrong with this girl!

“I don’t know how much more my stomach can take not having food in it’s system.” Kagome continued with a slight groan.

Inuyasha grunted feeling guilty for her suffering and turned his eyes away from her, “Sorry.” He said softly catching her attention, “That you had to wait this long in order to eat.”

“Oh no it’s okay. You don’t have to apologize for something you couldn’t help.” The young priestess reassured the cursed hanyou as she picked up her head from the hanyou’s shoulder, “I wasn’t going to force you to go outside just to get some food.”

“But still you’re my responsibility I’m suppose to be taking care of you.” Inuyasha began narrowing his eyes feeling angry with himself, “I’ve gone outside many times before and yet I couldn’t go out this one time to get you anything!”
“Well you were injured.” Kagome reminded him softly.

“Like that should have stopped me!” Inuyasha snorted angrily. He had no idea why he was getting so angry all of a sudden or even where all of this anger was coming from. Was it because he was still angry with himself for letting himself get turned into a vampire? Was he angry with himself because he was making Kagome suffer? He didn’t know but whatever it was it was getting him really upset.

“Heck even me being a vampire doesn’t stop me from going outside in the daylight! But yet I couldn’t this one stinking time!” Inuyasha continued to rant scolding himself for making Kagome go hungry for this long.

“No no it’s okay my lord.” Kagome spoke up staring at the side of his face, “I didn’t mind waiting.” She sighed as she tilted her head as she looked at him as her heart sunk when she saw his angry yet sad eyes. Kagome then gently combed her fingers through his hair as a way to comfort the hanyou.

Inuyasha jerked at the sudden touch and immediately felt his stomach grow butterflies.

His ears perked up when he heard his female friend sigh softly and felt his heart pound as she leaned the side of her head against his as she still continued to comb through his hair.

“I wasn’t going to force you to leave your castle when you were injured since that would have made your injuries worse. Besides that just wouldn’t be right.” Kagome continued softly in reassurance.

Inuyasha’s eyes went wide before narrowing them as he began to growl then immediately slide to a stop causing Kagome to stop what she was doing. She was about to ask him what was wrong when he suddenly dropped her on the dirt.

“Ah!” She yelped out before wincing in pain as she begun rubbing her now sore bottom, “Owwww.” She looked up at him, “What was that for?”
“Just what the hell is wrong with you?” She heard Inuyasha growl out.

“Huh?” Kagome replied, “What-”

Inuyasha glared at her, “Why the hell are you getting all touchie feelie with me? You should be against touching me!”

“Now why would I do that?” The young miko asked with a soft sigh before standing up meeting his gaze.

“Look at me!” Inuyasha ordered her loudly as he raised his arms up motioning her to look at him, “Take one good look at me Kagome! I’m a vampire an ugly vampire! The thing that you humans fear more than anything!”

“So what?” Kagome replied as she shrugged while arching a brow, “Vampires aren’t the only ones we fear ya know. We also fear demons, witches and demons.”
“Yeah and I’m two of them mixed together!” Inuyasha reminded her loudly as he dropped his arms, “So how can you even stand touching me just knowing that?”

“Simple you’re nice and when you’re nice I’m nice back.” Kagome explained as she waved her hand towards him before crossing her arms, “And not all demons and vampires are bad. Heck you and your father are living or were living proof about that.”

Inuyasha stared at her with awe shocked of what he was hearing.

The young priestess sighed softly, “Your father was a great lord who was kind and friendly to everybody and he was a demon a full demon at that and you’re his son. Even though you are a vampire you have proven to me that you are a great person just like your father.”

The young lord stared at her with shocked eyes as more butterflies filled his stomach.

“And you know the old saying like father like son.” Kagome continued her small lecture.

Inuyasha just stared at her with wide eyes before grunting as he narrowed them, “And how do I know you are really telling me the truth. Since for all I know you could be lying to me considering a few days ago you punched me and wanted nothing to do with me!”

“Argh! Not this again!” Kagome replied letting out a frustrated sigh while rolling her eyes before looking back at him while placing her hands on her hips, “I already went through this with you Lord Inuyasha! I only said that because I thought you were the one that either attacked my home or helped them or I thought even if you weren’t that you were just like those vampires! But you proved me wrong.”

Kagome grunted softly as she tilted her head keeping her stare on Inuyasha’s eyes, “You have proven that you’re nothing like those vampires that attacked my home or the vampires that people have always told us about. You are completely different considering of what you did for me.” She then narrowed her eyes, “And I mean what I say.”
Inuyasha just stared at her with wide eyes as her eyes softened giving him a pleading look, “So please just trust me like how I trust you.”
“Trust?” Inuyasha gabbed out as he jerked his head back completely taking back by what she said, “You…” He looked her straight in the eyes as his eyes and face softened, “You really…trust me?”
Kagome nodded as she said softly, “Yeah I do.” ‘I know it sounds strange, especially when I barely even know him but…’ She focused on his eyes before smiling softly, ‘My gut is telling me to trust him and…I’m deciding to trust him since my mother had always taught me to trust what I feel and my mother has never been wrong about anything.

Inuyasha’s eyes just went wide as his heart pound so loudly that he couldn’t even hear himself think, ‘She…she trusts me?’ He swallowed hard attempting to calm down his nervous nerves.

He then grunted before turning around making Kagome stare at his back and then bent down.

“Lord Inuyasha?” Kagome said in slight confusion.

Inuyasha glanced over his shoulder at her, “Let’s keep going. I don’t want to be out here as long as I have too.”
Kagome stared at him trying to figure out just what is happening, ‘Did he believe me? Sounds like he did. I hope he did because I don’t want to keep reminding him of what I said. Since I really am telling him the truth.

“Are you just going to stand there or are you going to get on?” Inuyasha spoke up loudly sounding annoyed snapping the miko out of her thoughts.

Kagome flinched slightly before focusing back on him before nodding, “Okay.”

The wolf demon came to a stop once he had finally arrived at Kagome’s farm. He began sniffing around following the scent of Kagome and the scent of the dog.

“Yep they were here alright.” Koga pointed out the obvious to himself as he slowly walked along the property, “Their scent is very strong here.”

But I don’t get it.’ The young wolf demon thought to himself as his gaze turned to the pile of rumble that use to be where her house stood, ‘Why did they come here? Especially if Kagome came back…from wherever she was.

He narrowed his eyes as he remembered talking with Kagome before someone flew down and him getting punched in the face by the guy that the young miko had called her savior. ‘Was that guy really her savior? He could have kidnapped her but didn’t tell me. Or…he could be the kidnapper and Kagome could have just been trying to get away from him!

“Ah no.” Koga quickly answered denying his own theory while shaking his head. He stared down at the ground, “Or else why would he let her talk to me. If he was trying to capture her again he should have killed me once he saw me.”
His head then jerked as something clicked in his head, “Unless…” The wolf demon said suddenly as he began walking away from the rumble. He stopped in front of another pile of rumble that use to be where the barn stood.

He snapped his fingers, “He decided to be a smart kidnapper and made it seem like he wasn’t doing her any harm and then forced her to make it sound like he was her savior. Then he forced her to tell me off to make me go away while he took her away yet again!”

Koga frowned before turning to glance around the lot, “But…then why would they come back here?” He growled as he looked over towards the forest, “To show her what he did!”

“Yeah that’s it! Kagome must have ran away from his hideout but he caught her and came to recapture her. Then once he saw me told her to make me leave to he could take her and then brought her here to show her what he did. Probably saying that if he could do destroy this place imagine what he could do to this whole village!” The wolf demon narrowed his eyes, “Yeah that would be the type of thing to keep Kagome from doing anything.”
Once he had his explanation figured out he went racing towards the forest, “I must save Kagome! Before this guy could do who knows what to her!”

Mogya was snoring away on one of the panels on one of the walls waiting for his lord and the young miko to return with food.

The door suddenly started to creek open making the old flea jerk in alarm. He quickly opened his eyes before rolling over slightly staring down at the castle doors.

He sighed in relief when Inuyasha and Kagome came into the castle.

“Oh!” He exclaimed as he jumped off of the panel and onto Inuyasha’s nose.

“Mm.” Inuyasha hummed in a slight grunt as the old flea sucked on his nose.

He smiled up at his master, “You’re finally back!”
“Heh we weren’t gone that long you stupid flea.” Inuyasha snorted blankly.

“But it was so boring and lonely being here by myself!” Mogya complained in a slight whine.

The hanyou prince rolled his eyes, “Oh stop being such a big baby Mogya.”
Mogya snorted angrily as he glared up at his lord.

“Well…” Kagome suddenly spoke up catching the two demons attention to her as she fiddled with the handle of her bag, “I’m going to cook myself something to eat.” She walked up next to Inuyasha before smiling, “You should go and get yourself your blood while the sun is still down.”

The dog hanyou snorted as he gave her a blank annoyed stare, “What are you, my mother?”

“Well I just thought I should remind you before you start arguing with Lord Mogya.” Kagome answered him before tilting head as she continued to smile up at him, “Besides I’m just trying to take care of you like how you are trying to take care of me.”
Inuyasha gabbed as he jerked his head back in surprise as his cheeks turned light pink. He then snorted as he narrowed his eyes slightly as he began to argue loudly, “I don’t need anyone to take care of me! I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself!”
The young miko chuckled at his remark before gently slapping him on his cheek causing him to jerk slightly, “Of course you do. Everybody needs somebody to take care of them.” Inuyasha’s eyes were wide at her response and her action. But his heart really began pounding when she start to caress his cheek slightly and stared up at him with a smile that he swore had a hint of love in it.

But…’ He lowered his gaze as his eyes softened a bit as he looked at the young woman oddly, ‘That can’t be.

Kagome smiled lovingly at him with her head tilted slightly, “Even a tough hanyou like you needs somebody to take care of them.”

The hanyou prince’s eyes went wide at her words as his cheeks turned more pink. The young miko sighed softly as she stared up at the dog prince with a small smile before deciding to walk pass him towards the kitchen.

Mogya turned his attention from the female to his master before hopping onto Kagome’s shoulder, ‘I think it’s best if Lord Inuyasha is by himself.’ He looked over his shoulder to look at his lord, ‘Since those words look like they hit him hard and I don’t think it would be a good idea to hang around him at this point.

Inuyasha just stood there in daze trying to figure out just what happened, ‘What…’ He lowered his gaze to look down at the floor, ‘What just…’ He began to growl in annoyance as he roughly ruffled his hair in frustration, ‘ARGH! What the hell is going on?’ He sighed as he lowered his head as he said softly, “I’m so confused. I…” He picked up his head slightly to stare at the door, “I need to get out of here!” He opened the castle door before leaping out, “I need to think.”

“So what are you planning on making Lady Kagome?” Mogya asked the young miko as they arrived in the castle kitchen.

Kagome sighed as she walked over towards the cabinets, “Probably stew.” She glanced at the flea, “Since that is my specialty.”
“Ohhh that does sound rather good my lady.” The old flea complemented the young priestess with a warm smile.

She smiled, “Glad it sounds good to you, since I might make extra so you and Lord Inuyasha can have some.”

“Oh that is so kind of you Lady Kagome.” Mogya praised the young girl happily, “It really is quite the honor for you to think of us like that.”
“Well like I told Lord Inuyasha.” Kagome started to say as she rummaged through the cabinets filled with plates and pots. “Everybody needs somebody to take care of them.” She moved her gaze from the cabinet to the old flea perched on her shoulder, “Even you guys.”
Mogya smiled warmly at the girl, “You really are such a kind hearted soul.”
Kagome hummed pleasantly as she smiled happy at receiving the complement, “What would you expected from Kikyo’s daughter?”
Mogya chuckled lightly, “Yes now I know for sure that you two are related.” The old flea tilted his head, ‘She really is the one. The one that Lord Inuyasha needs, not just to break the spell but…the one he could rebuild his life with. Even if he doesn’t realize it now I’m sure he’ll realize it soon.

Kagome took out a big pot from the cabinet and grimaced when she took a look inside, “Eww…cobwebs.”
“Well we haven’t used half these dishes for over two years now.” Mogya defended himself and his lord before moving his head from the pot up to Kagome, “So I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these dishes are dirty.”
The young miko sighed at his response still staring down at the pot, “Well…” She placed her hand on her hip, “Looks like I’m going to have to clean before I even begin cooking.”
“Oh don’t do that.” Mogya said quickly catching the miko’s eyes, “Just clean the dishes you will be using. Don’t go waiting to eat anymore than you have already.”
Kagome stared him before sighing, “Yeah that would be a wise thing to do.” She moved her gaze back towards the cabinets and began taking out the dishes she would be using.

Once she had gathered up the dishes she would be using she brought them over towards the sink and began putting in some water preparing to wash them.

A thought suddenly popped into the young miko’s mind, “Say Lord Mogya?”

“Mm?” The old flea hummed as he looked over at her, “Yes?”
Kagome glanced at him, “Lord Inuyasha’s a vampire right?”

“Yes.”

She arched a brow, “So then why does he go out in the daytime? Don’t vampires usually avoid going out during the day?”

“Oh that’s all thanks to cape.” Mogya answered her like it was a matter of fact.

“Cape?” Kagome repeated raising a brow before her mind clicked, “Oh you mean that cape he’s always wearing when he goes out?”
“Yep that’s the cape.” The old flea replied as he nodded his head. He then crossed his arms continuing to stare up at the young miko, “You see Lady Kagome Lord Inuyasha had that specifically made for him and his vampireness.”

“Specifically made?” The young miko repeated.

“Yes as you are somewhat aware Lord Inuyasha isn’t the type of person who can never really sit still, at least nowadays, he’s always on the go. So when he got turned into a vampire I took him to pay a visit to an old friend of my late lord’s who was a magical tailor.” Mogya began to explain to the young miko. “And that tailor specifically made his cape so he could go out in the daytime and not get burned like most vampires do.”
“So that cape has some type of magic to keep him from burning?” Kagome asked the old flea assuming that was the case.

Mogya cringed his nose at bit, “Well sort of.” He uncringed his nose, “It’s made of a magical material actually. So you’re half right.”
Kagome arched a brow, “So then why does he wear it when he goes out at night?”

“Oh sometimes when he goes out during the night he tends to stay out until the sun rises. So he wears it when he goes out at night just to be on the safe side of things.” The demon flea explained to the priestess.

“Hmm.” Kagome hummed taking in what the old flea had told her before looking down at her dishes.

Leaves made a whoosh sound when a big rush of wind flew passed them making them rub against each other. Inuyasha leaped from tree to tree thinking about what had happened between him and Kagome this night.

Your father was a great lord who was kind and friendly to everybody and he was a demon a full demon at that and you’re his son. Even though you are a vampire you have proven to me that you are a great person just like your father.”

So please just trust me like how I trust you.”
“Besides I’m just trying to take care of you like how you are trying to take care of me.”
“Everybody needs somebody to take care of them. Even a tough hanyou like you needs somebody to take care of them.”

“ARGH!” Inuyasha roared out in frustration as he immediately came to a stop in one of the tree branches with his hands on the sides of his head with his face facing the ground, “Why can’t I get her words out of my head?”
He sighed and opened his eyes to stare at the ground below him, “She’s only been with me for six seven days now and…she’s really getting to me.” ‘And how she’s doing it is beyond me.

Kagome then gently combed her fingers through his hair as a way to comfort the hanyou. His heart pound as she leaned the side of her head against his as she still continued to comb through his hair.

The young miko chuckled at his remark before gently slapping him on his cheek

But his heart really began pounding when she start to caress his cheek slightly and stared up at him with a smile that he swore had a hint of love in it.

“Damn it!” The hanyou prince cursed out loudly as he pounded his fist onto the tree trunk, “Why?” He groaned as he leaned his forehead on the trunk of the tree, “Why can’t I get her out of my head?”

He groaned sounding more like a soft whine, “I am so confused.”

The hanyou’s ears perked up when he heard the bushes under him brush up against each other.

“Mm?” He hummed as he turned his head to look down at the bushes taking his mind off of his conflicting thoughts just as a rabbit hopped out of the bushes.

“Heh.” The dog hanyou grunted before crouching down on his branch, “Just what I need to take out my frustrations.”

Sango sighed as she laid wide awake in her bed staring up at the ceiling.

You are needed here to help protect this village since now that my mother has passed away.”

Lord Miroku and Koga can’t protect this town without you Sango.”

So it would only be wise if you stayed here with them.”

She groaned in frustration as she sat up and rubbed her eyes, “I can’t sleep.” She grumbled as she slowly moved herself out of bed and walked over towards the window to stare out into the village.

Every time I think about what she said the more I keep feeling that…that she was lying.

“Well that was a complete waste of time.” The young hanyou said to himself loudly with his eyes narrowed in disappointment before throwing the dead rabbit to the side. He wiped his mouth, “That fur ball barely had any blood in it.” He began walking, ‘Well that rabbit was a pretty small one so I guess that could explain that small amount of blood.

“Did you find him?” A loud hiss was heard from a clearing that he was just about to pass. His ears perked up at the sudden voice and looked towards the clearing and gabbed and quickly jumped back behind the tree that he was just about to pass as he spotted two demons and a vampire gathered up in the clearing.

What the hell?’ Inuyasha thought in slight concern as he glanced over at them, ‘What the hell are they doing out here? Hell why are they even together? Usually demons and vampires in these parts despise each other.

“No, I went back to the farm where he had staked out and couldn’t find any trace of him.” One of the demons told his comrades as he approached them.

They’re looking for somebody?’ Inuyasha observed thinking that was the case, ‘One of their comrades I take it?

The only vampire in the group growled, “Argh! I knew he couldn’t pull it off! He was always the weak one in our clan.”

Inuyasha snorted looking at the three with a blank stare, ‘Or a minion who sounds like they have little faith in.

“I can see that considering he couldn’t take down one girl!” The second demon pointed out rashly to his long fanged companion in annoyance.

A girl?’ Inuyasha repeated as he arched a brow staring at the three oddly, ‘They were originally after a girl?

“But how do we even know that the girl even came back?” The first demon brought up, “He could have just been attacked by something else or he could have just ran off.”
“Argh who cares!” The vampire hissed out angrily, “All that matters is us finding that girl before Onigumo kills us!”
Inuyasha’s head jerked as his eyes shot wide open, ‘Onigumo?’ He narrowed his eyes, ‘I hit the jackpot this time!

“I just don’t get it! Why does Onigumo need that stupid miko anyway?” The first demon asked them loudly, “It just doesn’t make any sense!”
Miko?’ The hanyou repeated his statement while raising a brow.

Since one is a demon slayer and the other is a monk and I’m a priestess so I think we can manage.”
“Priestess? You’re a priestess?”

My mother…was Priestess Kikyo.”

Heheheheh you thought you could escape me, little miko?”

He gasped as his eyes went wide, ‘Kagome?’ He glanced at the two demons and the vampire, ‘They’re after Kagome? What the hell would Onigumo want with Kagome?

“What makes you think that we would know?” The second demon asked his demon friend rudely.

“Maybe he has some special plan to kill her?” The vampire suggested with a slight shrug.

Inuyasha growled once he heard that, ‘No! No one is going near her!’ He cracked his knuckles as he glanced a glare at the three. He motioned to step out of his hiding spot, ‘They’re going to have to get through me if they want her!

“What miko?” A loud shout was heard causing the hanyou to stop in his tracks as the two demons and the vampire turned their attention towards the voice.

Crap I know that voice.’ Inuyasha thought to himself as he grunted in annoyance, ‘Not to mention I can never forget that scent.

He looked over towards the woods just as Koga emerged from the trees.

The hanyou vampire growled, ‘Koga! What the hell is he doing here?

Koga glared at the three, “What miko are you looking for?”
The first demon growled as he hissed glaring at the wolf, “What makes you think we’ll tell you?”

The wolf demon held out his fist, “I swear if you hurt her in anyway I will personally send you to hell!”

“Heh well ain’t this an interesting surprise.” Onigumo said to himself as he observed his black crystal ball. Watching the scene between his three idiotic minions and the wolf demon along with the hanyou prince.

He tilted his head as he shifted his body in his dark red huge arm chair.

“It was interesting enough that Inuyasha had shown up there but to have a wolf demon show up? No that is even more of a surprise.’
“Master?” He heard a woman’s voice speak catching his attention.

He smiled as a pale beautiful vampireress emerged from the darkness revealing her blood red eyes.

“Oh Sera.” The evil vampire acknowledged her presence with a nod.

“Have those idiots found Kikyo’s offspring yet?” She asked him softly in slight irritation. She crossed her arms, “Considering those three are like taking forever to return.”

Onigumo grunted, “Those fools haven’t found her yet.” He narrowed his eyes slightly, “Which proves them to be completely useless.” He then smirked, “But…” He looked back at his black crystal ball, “Our old friend Inuyasha has arrived at the scene.”

“Heh and here I thought that stupid hanyou dog died.” Sera grunted out.

Her master glanced over at her, “Why don’t you use your abilities to see if the miko’s aura is around him?”
Sera jerked her head back surprised by his request, “Do you honestly think the miko is with the prince?”
“Well there’s only one way to find out for sure.” Onigumo answered her.

Sera sighed before obeying her master’s wishes and hovered her hand over the black ball and closed her eyes and began to concentrate.

Onigumo watched Inuyasha as a purple aura began to emerge slowly from the hanyou’s body.

He grunted as he smiled in satisfaction, “Just as I thought.”
“So he does have her I take it?” He heard his woman minion ask him.

The vampire glanced up at her with his never-ending smirk, “Why yes. It does mean that.”

“So then what do you suggest we do?”
“Well considering our dear prince is out of the castle and the young miko is not with him…” He turned his gaze smiling back at the crystal ball, “Meaning that the miko is had his castle.”

Sera smirked, “Are you suggesting we sneak her out?”

Onigumo smiled evilly at her, “Yes that’s exactly what I’m saying. Though…” He glanced over towards his chamber door, “We’ll have someone who can easily make her come out.”

“I can see you try!” The first demon roared out as he charged towards Koga with the other demon and the vampire following his lead.

Koga just grunted as he watched the three and just as they approached him in an attempt to strike him he suddenly jumped up and leaped over them, but not forgetting to kick the first demon in the head knocking him forwards.

The vampire and the other demon gasped before growling as they turned their attention towards the wolf demon as he landed gracefully behind them.

He glared at him, “And that was just me going easy on you.”

Inuyasha snorted, ‘Heh that’s going easy on them? I highly doubt it.’ As he continued to watch the wolf demon fight off the demons and the vampire the more his blood began to boil.

He began to growl, ‘You know…for some odd reason I feel the need to pummel him.’ He then narrowed his eyes, ‘And I will.I will not let him ruin my chance to find Onigumo!

Inuyasha made the notion to step out from his hiding place and charge towards Koga, ‘This time I will get him for sure!

But if he sees you then he’ll assume you were the one that captured me or that you are here to kill me.”

He immediately stopped in his tracks as Kagome’s voice rang in his head. ‘Kagome.’ He then grunted narrowing his eyes slightly before turning around making his back face the clearing. ‘Looks like you get lucky again wolf. But next time you won’t be so lucky.

As he finished his thought he quickly leaped off taking the path towards his castle.

At that moment Koga’s head jerked as he caught a whiff of Inuyasha’s scent. ‘What?’ He thought to himself shocked as he looked over towards the trees that Inuyasha had been hiding behind. ‘I can smell…the scent of a dog.’ He then narrowed his eyes before growling as he leaped off after the scent causing the two demons and the vampire to ram into one another.

He sped off following the scent growling angrily. ‘This scent also carries of Kagome! It’s faint but it’s definitely there! Which means I’m getting closer to where she is!

His eyes flickered when he spotted something speeding ahead of him almost as fast as him. He growled when he caught the scent coming from him. ‘Found him!

With just one huge leap he flew pass Inuyasha and landed a few feet in front of him causing the hanyou to gasp in surprise and then slide to a complete stop.

Inuyasha stared at the wolf demon with wide eyes.

Koga grunted as he snarled out, “Finally found you.”

Inuyasha grunted in distaste, ‘Oh shit.

“There!” Kagome exclaimed happily as she smiled down at the pot filled with her famous stew. “It’s finally finished!”
“Ohhhhh.” Mogya said in awe slightly drooling at the delicious smell of the stew. He sniffed pleasantly, “That smells absolutely pleasant Lady Kagome!”
Kagome glanced down at her flea friend and winked at him. “Well stew is my specialty.” She took out a bowl and poured some of the stew into it and then sat down. She giggled happily. “Finally I can eat!”
Mogya laughed at the young miko’s excitement. “Well I hope you enjoy your long awaited meal Lady Kagome.”

“Duh of course I will!” Kagome told the old flea grinning happily at him as she started to eat her meal. Just then an image of Inuyasha appeared in her mind making her smile slowly fad.

Well, well if it isn’t Lord Inuyasha that stupid dog prince that the vampire Onigumo curse.”
“Listen! It’s not your fault and personally I didn’t really want to be found!”

I didn’t want anyone to find me while I’m looking like a stupid fucking vampire! That would make them want to kill me!”

Kagome slowly began to chew as those memories came into her mind and once she swallowed her food, “Lord Mogya?”

“Mm?” Mogya hummed turning his attention up at the young woman after hearing his name being softly called out. “Yes? What is it Lady Kagome?”

She looked down at the flea demon. “Is Lord Inuyasha…really cursed?”

A figure suddenly appeared at the front of the castle hiding in the shadows of the trees.

He smirked. “Yes…she’s here alright. I can feel her.” He glanced over his shoulders to stare into the forest, “Now it’s time to put you to good use.”

“C-Cursed?” Mogya stuttered reciting the last word. He looked up at her with wide eyes. “You’re asking if Lord Inuyasha is cursed?” ‘Oh man! How did she figure it out already?

Kagome nodded. “I heard that badger demon mention to him about his curse that this…Onigumo guy cursed.” She lowered her gaze staring at him in question. “So is what he said true? Is Lord Inuyasha cursed?” ‘Then that would make sense to maybe why Lord Inuyasha is a vampire. Since I’ve heard from Sango that some people can put curses on someone to change them into vampires. Considering she had encountered a view on her exterminations.

Mogya sighed softly as he lowered his head with his eyes closed. “You are correct Lady Kagome.” He reopened his eyes and met her gaze. “Lord Inuyasha is indeed cursed.”
Kagome gasped as she felt her heart turn sickly. ‘I knew it!’ “So is that curse the reason for him being a vampire?”
The old flea’s head jerked back surprised by her sudden conclusion. “Why yes it is.” He tilted his head looking up at her questionably. “How did you know?”
“It really wasn’t that hard to figure out.” Kagome answered him honestly. “All the portraits show that he wasn’t a vampire to begin with and going by what I’ve heard about the people in this castle none of them were vampires either.” She tilted her head. “And he surely doesn’t really act like the vampires I’ve seen and heard about.”
Mogya smiled amazed by this young woman. “You continue to amaze me Lady Kagome.”
Kagome gave him a small smile before it turned into a frown as she opened her mouth to ask some more questions.

KNOCK-KNOCK

Mogya and Kagome jerked their heads over towards the kitchen doors as they heard the loud knocks coming from the castle doors.

The young priestess arched a brow before turning her gaze down at her flea friend. “Are you and Lord Inuyasha expecting anybody this evening?”

“No. We haven’t talked to barely anybody since my lord was cursed two years ago.”

“Then,” She turned her head back towards the kitchen doors, “Could Lord Inuyasha be back?”
“But he never knocks considering this is his castle after all. So there’s no need for him to knock.” Mogya reminded her.

Kagome took in what the old flea said before she took a stand and walked over towards the doors.

“Lady Kagome?” Mogya called out to her before jumping off of the table and hopped onto her shoulder catching her glance. “You aren’t planning on answering the door are you?”
“No of course not.” Kagome told him honestly offended that he would assume that. “But I will look out one of the windows to see who it is.”
“Ohh I see.” Mogya responded in relief. “Then go keep going since I’m curious as well.” He gave her a stern look. “But promise me that you won’t go outside no matter who it is!”
Kagome sighed. “Well it would all depend on who the person even is.”
Mogya groaned in distaste of Kagome’s words but knew they were true. Kagome walked over towards a curtain in a den that faced the front of the castle. There standing on the borderline of the forest was a young boy. Kagome gasped as she recognized the boy, it was Souta!

S-Souta?’ She thought wildly in her mind as her heart went sowing. ‘He’s really alive?

“A boy?” She heard Mogya speak up questionably. He arched a brow, “Now what would a boy be doing all the way out here?”

He was suddenly blown off as Kagome raced towards the front door.

“Huh? Lady Kagome?” He called out to her before hopping after her. He whined out. “Come back here!”
The young miko ignored the flea’s calls and slide in front of the castle doors. She grunted as she pulled one of the doors opened to reveal the outside world and stood in the doorway as she met the figure of her younger brother whom met her gaze sadly.

“Souta.” She said his name softly in shock feeling her soul sigh in relief at the sight of her younger brother. ‘Thank God! You’re still alive!

Souta grunted as he stared up at his older sister guiltily. ‘Kagome.’ He glanced over towards the trees as the blood eyes eyed him down.

Kagome smiled in great relief. “Oh Souta.”

His sister’s voice brought his attention back over towards her, watching, as she slowly began walking over towards him.

He gabbed. ‘No! Don’t! Go back!

“I’m so glad that you made it out okay.” She continued as she approached her brother. “I’m so relieved.”
Mogya watched her as he stood in front of the castle doors. “So that’s Souta I take it? Lady Kagome’s younger brother?” ‘But how did he get all the way out here?

Souta’s heart grew heavy as he watched his only sister get closer and closer to him.

Kagome raised her hand. “I’ve been so worried. I was afraid that you had been killed too along with mom and dad.”
Mom and dad are dead?’ Souta thought as his eyes went wide. That was it! He just couldn’t take it anymore.

“No Kagome! Go back!” He shouted out at her causing her to jerk back in surprise by his sudden shout. He looked at her with pleading eyes, “Go back inside the castle Kagome!”
“What?” Kagome replied confused by his words. But then gasped when something flew down in front of her and jabbed her hard in the stomach knocking the wind right out of her and slide down on the ground.

“Ah! Lady Kagome?” Mogya shouted out in panic.

“Sister!” Souta cried out motioning to run towards her when someone grabbed him by the shoulders preventing him from going near her.

Kagome wheezed a couple of her coughs as she tried to gain back the wind in her gut.

“Finally found you…miko.” She heard a man’s voice speak to her.

She weakly raised her head but gasped sharply. “You!”
There stood Onigumo with her little brother held in his arm with a knife held at his throat.

Onigumo smirked. “Oh I am so flattered to know that you actually remembered me young miko.”
She growled as she narrowed her eyes as went off with an angrily shout. “Let go of my brother!”
“Oh I don’t think I will.” Onigumo told her bluntly as he lifted the young boy off of his feet making him dangle his feet as he glanced at him. He smirked at her. “Though I might if you surrender and come with me.”
“What?” Kagome roared out angrily as she brutally stood up. “There’s no way in hell I’m surrendering to the likes of you!” She motioned towards the vampire. “I’d rather burn in hell than surrender to you!” Her hands began to glow purple ready to purify the vampire.

Onigumo grunted. “Foolish.”
Just as Kagome was about to make her move a vampire and a demon snuck up behind her and grabbed her by her arms and pulled her back. Kagome yelped out in surprise before glaring up at them as she kicked her leg behind the demon and tripped him making him fall flat on his back. Then once her arm was freed she used that hand to smack the vampire right across his jaw line making him jerk away from causing him to let go of her.

“Damn wench!” One of the demons growled out to her.

Kagome ignored the angry shout and continued to advance to Onigumo.

Onigumo quickly brought his knife closer to Souta’s neck causing Kagome to stop right in her tracks.

“One false move and your darling little brother is history.” He warned her in an angry snarl.

Kagome growled. “Let him go now!”
“It’s your choice miko. Either you surrender and the boy lives or not surrender and the boy dies. Which would you rather have.”

“Oh no Lady Kagome!” Mogya gabbed out in panic. ‘Onigumo is after Kagome? But…but why? Is he still out for revenge?
She grunted angrily. “You’re a coward. You hear me! You are a freaking coward!”
“Heh though I see it way differently than you do.” Onigumo snorted out to her before edging more of his knife near Souta’s neck. “Now choose, your own life or the life of you brother’s.”
“No! Don’t!” Souta shouted out to his sister.

“Shut up!” Onigumo ordered the boy loudly as he jerked him causing him to shut his mouth. He glared over at Kagome. “Choose now miko!”
Kagome grunted as she changed her gaze from the vampire to her younger brother who scarcely shook his head mentally pleading her to not give in.

She hesitated for a moment or so before sighing softly as she lowered her arms and head in defeat.

Onigumo grunted in satisfaction as Souta gasped as he yelled out. “No Kagome! Don’t surrender to them!”
The vampire leader scrawled at the boy before tossing into the arms of a demon motioning him to keep quiet. He smiled at the young miko satisfied with her answer. “Excellent choice miko.”
“Oh no!” Mogya cried out with wide eyes as he watched two demons appear at her side and dragged her along with them with Souta being carried in the demon’s arms.

“No Lady Kagome!” Mogya shouted out in panic before hopping towards the woods. “I must find Lord Inuyasha immediately!”

Koga and Inuyasha had a glare down as they stood just a few feet away from each other.

“At last I have found you.” Koga snarled at the hanyou.

Inuyasha grunted. ‘Dammit! This wasn’t what I was planning at all!

“Did you honestly think you could hide from me you bastard?” The wolf demon shouted at the hanyou.

The hanyou prince snorted as he mumbled. “Heh look who’s talking.”
Koga began cracking his knuckles. “Now tell me where you have taken Kagome right now before I rip you apart!”
Inuyasha growled. “Like you can even try you mangy wolf.”
“Oh so you do talk.” Koga snarled angrily. He narrowed his eyes. “So then tell me…” He charged towards him, “Where the hell is Kagome?”
Inuyasha jumped right out of the way just as Koga made the attempt to swing his fist at him. He growled as he shouted. “Like I’d tell you!” ‘He won’t touch her! I won’t let him touch her! I won’t even let him go anywhere near her!

The wolf demon growled showing his fangs. “You tell me or YOU’RE DEAD!” He charged towards him to attack him once again.

Inuyasha just snorted as he once again dodged the wolf’s fist and just as he landed on the ground the two demons and the vampire barged into their battle stomping towards the wolf angrily.

“You think we would let you ignore us after what you just did?” The first demon shouted at him.

“Well think again!”
Koga grunted. “That much in a hurry to die are you?”

Inuyasha glanced from Koga to the demons and the vampire. ‘This is my chance if I want to get back to the castle before the sun comes up.’ Once he had finished his thoughts he leaped away from the battle.

“Hey!” Koga shouted noticing that the hanyou was retreating. “Come back here you coward!”
“You’re a waste of time!” Inuyasha shouted out to him.

Koga growled. “You’ll regret running away from me!”
Inuyasha grunted. ‘Hey I’m only doing leaving you because I don’t want you finding Kagome.’ His head jerked once he had realized what he had just thought. ‘What the hell? Where did that come from?

“Lord Inuyasha!” He heard someone call out in his name in desperation.

“Mm?” He hummed as his attention went to his nose as something hopped onto it. He grunted as he came to a stop on one of the branches and squashed it. Once he heard the grunt he looked into his hand to find Mogya. “Mogya?” He then eyed him. “And what may I ask are you doing out here?”
“Oh ho Lord Inuyasha Lady Kagome’s in serious danger!” Mogya cried to him in desperation as he hopped up and down in his master’s hand.

Inuyasha narrowed his eyes angrily. “Was she running off again?”
“No! She wasn’t planning on running!” Mogya began to explain. “She was tricked!”
“Tricked?” Inuyasha repeated arching a brow. “How?”
“Her younger brother showed up at the castle!”

“Her brother?” He repeated as his head jerked back shocked to hear that.

“Yes! But her brother being there was a trap to lure Lady Kagome out of the castle!” Mogya shouted up at his lord.

Inuyasha growled as he closed his hand making a fist squeezing Mogya. “Who?” He demanded loudly ignoring the flea’s painful grunts. He narrowed his eyes at the flea. “Who tricked Kagome? Who forced her to come out of the castle?”
“Onigumo!” Mogya cried out painfully with fear in his voice.

Inuyasha jerked as his eyes went wide feeling his heart suddenly sink at the mention of that name and Kagome. ‘O-Onigumo!’ He then growled as he tossed Mogya before racing further into the woods. “Kagome!”

“Huh?” Kagome said suddenly as she turned her head to look into the forest. ‘That’s funny.’ She tilted her head. ‘I thought I heard my name being called out.

“Keep moving bitch!” The demon growled out at her as he jerked her forward causing her to yelp in surprise.

She glared up at him.

“Now don’t go making any hasty moves priestess.” She heard Onigumo speak causing her to scrawl as she glared over at him. He smirked back at her. “Since if you do I will have your dear brother pummeled to death by the demon that’s holding him.”
Kagome just glared at him, which caused him to laugh as he turned away from her. ‘Damn him! Damn him to hell!

Inuyasha landed on one of the branches that was near the group, he looked down and gasped when he saw a boy struggling against the demon that was holding him whom was right next to Onigumo. ‘Onigumo!’ He thought with wide eyes before glancing over towards the demon and the boy. ‘Then that boy must be Souta, Kagome’s little brother.’ His eyes went wide as he turned his head. ‘Kagome?

He gabbed in relief when he saw Kagome unharmed but growled when he noticed the two demons that were holding her arms. ‘They dare touch her!’ He glanced over at Souta. ‘And I’m guessing she hasn’t made any moves on them because of Souta.

He narrowed his eyes as he turned his gaze back to Kagome with determination. ‘Looks like its time for me to ruin things for them.

I have to do something!’ Kagome told herself with determination as she glanced a glare over at the back of Onigumo’s head. ‘I have to figure out a way to get Souta and me out of this mess. But…how? What can I do with Souta in the hands of that demon?

Her eyes went wide as she felt a sudden breeze come from the back of her. ‘What?’ She thought softly as she glanced to the side only to watch an arm emerged from the chest of the demon.

She gasped sharply her eyes wide as she witnessed the sight. The arm then pulled out of the chest and just as the other demon was about to shout something out the clawed head quickly went and clawed the demon’s head off.

“Are you alright?” She heard that person say smoothly in her ear sending pleasant shivers down her spine but it couldn’t keep her from gasping sharply in surprise as she whipped around only to have Inuyasha wrap an arm around her and clasped his hand on her mouth, afraid she would scream.

“Don’t scream.” He told her in a soft whisper with firmness in his voice.

Kagome smiled against his hand. ‘Lord Inuyasha!

Inuyasha felt the smile on his hand and couldn’t help but return the smile.

“Well well if it ain’t my old friend Prince Inuyasha.”

Kagome and Inuyasha jerked as they looked ahead of them to find Onigumo slightly turned to them staring at them.

“Prince Inuyasha?” Souta repeated as he stared at the man wearing the black cape that was holding his sister.

Inuyasha growled as he let go of Kagome before pulling off his cape and placed it on Kagome. She gasped at the sudden action. “Lord Inuyasha?”

He glanced at her. “Wear it. It will protect you.”
“But shouldn’t you be wearing this?” Kagome asked. “It is almost sun rise isn’t it?”
“Heh I’m sure I can handle a few minutes of the sun.” Inuyasha snorted as he took a few steps in front of her. His head suddenly jerked before looking back at her. “Hey how did you know if I need it or not?”

“Lord Mogya told me about this cape.” Kagome answered him softly. “Since I did ask him about it.”
Inuyasha grunted at her answer before shaking his head as he glared back at Onigumo. “It’s been a while Onigumo.” He gripped the handle of his sword. “And now…” He unsheathed his sword as he shouted, “I will make you pay for what you have done!”
Onigumo grunted in annoyance before looking over towards the horizon to indeed see the sun just beginning to rise. “As much as I would love to stay here and finish you off once and for all.” He stared at Inuyasha. “But I’m afraid our time has been cut short.”
“Running away are you?” Inuyasha snarled hatefully.

“For now yes.” Onigumo admitted. He smirked. “But don’t worry we will meet up again soon.” He looked down at Kagome. “Especially when you have that miko in your care.”
Kagome glared at him as Inuyasha growled and moved in front of her as he snarled out loudly. “If you even think about touching her I will rip you to pieces!”
“Heh that is if you can even try and touch me.” Onigumo challenged the young prince.

“No chance in hell will I miss you!” Inuyasha roared out as he charged towards Onigumo ready to slice him with his sword.

Onigumo just continued to smile as he slowly began to fad. Kagome gasped. ‘He’s disappearing?’ Her eyes caught sight of Souta, which caused her heart to sink, and raced over towards him. “Souta!”
Onigumo took notice of Kagome and snorted as he narrowed his eyes as a purple smog soon emerged from his body.

Inuyasha gasped and quickly raced towards Kagome. “Look out!” Kagome looked over at him and gasped in surprise when Inuyasha jumped in front of her wrapping both his arms around her using himself as a shield when Onigumo’s miasma blasted from his body spreading all over the small area.

The hanyou vampire grunted as he kept Kagome’s face in his chest to prevent her from taking in the poison gas.

Once the gas had dissipated Inuyasha let go of Kagome and they both looked to where Onigumo once stood with the demon and found them gone.

“No.” Kagome said softly as her heart began to shatter again. Inuyasha turned his attention down at her and groaned, as his heart grew heavy when he saw tears forming in the miko’s eyes.

Kagome instinctively clenched onto Inuyasha’s shirt and buried her face in it. “Souta…Souta!”

Inuyasha jerked in slight surprise at Kagome’s sudden actions but his tenseness soon faded once she began crying out her younger brother’s name. He then wrapped his arms around her and embraced her as a way to comfort her.

“Don’t worry Kagome. I’ll make sure he pays deeply for this.” Inuyasha assured her confidently with his eyes narrowed with determination as he tightened his hold on the girl. ‘I swear to you Onigumo won’t get away with anything this time! I’ll make sure he pays big time!

END OF CHAPTER

-Phew- Finally! I’m done with this chapter! Took me practically two weeks to figure this whole chapter out and of what I wanted to do with it. Again I’m sorry for the extremely late update. I’m trying to update as fast as I can when the chapters appear in my mind. Which sometimes doesn’t happen as fast as it usually does. I’m not sure what’s going to happen in the next chapter. But I’ll make sure to get some Miroku and Sango action in the next one. So please stay tuned for the next chapter!
