"Sorrow."

"What about it?"

"Does it... Hurt?"

Zelos turned to look at Presea. She had plopped down next to him during dinner, which meant she had something specific that she could only get from him. Otherwise, she'd be by Genis. "What do you mean?" he inquired, his eyebrows scrunching together.

"Does sorrow… sting? Is it hurtful to the body?" She asked, "Many people who are depressed, they say they are aching."

Zelos blinked, "Errr... Does Sorrow hurt... Hmmm... Well it depends!" the redhead chimed.

"On what grounds?" Presea asked. Man, she was filled with curiosity!

"Well... It depends on what you're bummed out about, for one thing! If your all gloomy and grey cause your girlfriend dumped ya, yeah you're gonna feel sorta... Lazy! If a close family member dies all your muscles feel limp and numb and you're always tired. It just depends on the person most of the time, too."

"What if-" he cut her off by sticking one of their few rolls into her mouth.

"Gotta eat up my little rose bud! Especially if you intend on carrying that bigass axe of your's around. Great Martel! Sometimes I wonder who in their right mind would give somebody as little as my hunny an axe bigger than me!" He gave a hearty laugh at her side, patting her shoulder as she sat there silently.

"Zelos... Do you hurt?" Presea asked after a long moment.

"Huh?"

"You always seem so sad. Whenever you aren't being perverted you are being very... pessimistic."

"Pessimistic, huh? Big word." Zelos teased with a light smile. "Ya know what they say. Every dark cloud has a silver lining!"

Presea blinked in surprise, that wasn't very pessimistic, but then she realize Zelos wasn't finished.

"But lightening kills hundreds of people each yeah who are trying to find it!" Zelos grinned and laughed like he had just told a cute little corny joke.

"Do you hurt?" Presea repeated.

"Damn, I thought we were done with that stupid question." Zelos mumbled while looking away from Presea. He looked back, "Hmmm… Do I hurt? Well, I suppose with the duties as chosen you can't help but feel a bit sad here and there."

"Colette is not sad..."

"Yeah well, certain people handle things in certain ways."

"But you do not handle it... You ignore it."

Zelos broke eye contact again, "I handle it."

"No you don't."

"Yes I do."

"You just told me you are sad."

"Damn it, your making this very... difficult!" Zelos exclaimed, turning and glaring at the small girl. Presea looked hurt.

"That... Pained me."

Zelos's eyes got wide in realization, "Uh... I'm gonna take a walk." He got up and walked off.

Presea watched him leave and she frowned. One day she'd figure out how to help him. She'd just have to make sure to talk to him more. He seemed better after talking to people. It reassured him that they cared.

At least, she hoped it did.

These emotions were so very confusing.
