-Simple Rain-

The sound of pounding rain outside the window caused me to stir, my bare feet silent on the soft carpet of the house we now shared. I had another nightmare, and for once my lover hadn't woken up, I couldn't bring myself to disturb the man. He hadn't had a good night's sleep in as long as I had. One of us deserved to be conscious tomorrow.

I absolutely loved the rain, it made everything seem calm, the city that never sleeps was finally allowing itself to slumber, and maybe, just maybe, if he could hold me in his arms right now, I could, too.
