Just another short songfic, really. I like short songfics…
---
Making
my way downtown
Walking fast
Faces passed
And I'm home
bound
The girl stared dejectedly at the ground as she shuffled along. She was alone in this new city, and she was about to give up on her search.
Staring
blankly ahead
Just making my way
Making my way
Through
the crowd
People blurred in her vision. It had begun to rain. How fitting.
And
I need you
And I miss you
And now I wonder...
Closing her eyes, which had started to glaze over, she took a deep breath and kept moving.
If
I could fall
Into the sky
Do you think time
Would pass me
by
'Cause you know I'd walk
A thousand miles
If I could
Just see you
Tonight
She had wished that she could see him, just one more time. The dead could be spoken too, but those that left of there own free will might never be seen again.
It's
always times like these
When I think of you
And I wonder
If
you ever
Think of me
It was hard to tell whether this would even have a point, this little expedition of hers. Maybe she had sunk to the bottom of his memory, replaced by more current thoughts.
'Cause
everything's so wrong
And I don't belong
Living in your
Precious memories
It was probably hopeless, but she clung to the last scrap of hope she had as though her life depended on it. Come to think of it, it probably did.
'Cause
I need you
And I miss you
And now I wonder...
The rain poured down, but she found shelter in an dark alleyway. Hazel eyes watched rain fall on the cold, grey, lifeless street, and the cold people walking along, not caring about anything.
If
I could fall
Into the sky
Do you think time
Would pass me
by
'Cause you know I'd walk
A thousand miles
If I could
Just see you
Tonight
Hersaddened gaze turned to the clouds above, and she wished she could be up there, twirling in the sky, forgetting him. Forgetting everything.
And
I, I
Don't want to let you know
I, I
Drown in your memory
I, I
Don't want to let this go
I, I
Don't...
Tears rolled down her cheeks; she didn’t notice them for the rain.
Making
my way downtown
Walking fast
Faces passed
And I'm home
bound
Dully, she started walking again. She would head home now. It wouldn’t take too long, and if it did, she’d just…
Staring
blankly ahead
Just making my way
Making my way
Through
the crowd
She ignored the legions of humans around her, pushing through them.
And
I still need you
And I still miss you
And now I wonder...
Then, amongst is all, she thought she saw something brighter than the rest. Hope filled her, and she started walking towards it.
If
I could fall
Into the sky
Do you think time
Would pass us
by
Could it be?
'Cause
you know I'd walk
A thousand miles
If I could
Just see
you...
There; near the port! The girl danced quickly through sodden streets in an effort to get there and see him.
If
I could fall
Into the sky
Do you think time
Would pass me
by
'Cause you know I'd walk
A thousand miles
If I could
Just see you
The boy with the tousled black hair and the red cap was boarding a boat, which was starting to leave. The girl had come too late.
If
I could
Just hold you
After all that time…he was leaving again?
Tonight
She sank to her knees, sobbing uncontrollably. Overhead, the rain finally started to clear.
A chill wind passed. Ash Ketchum looked back over to the dock.
Just in time to see a red and white bird disappearing into the clouds.
