Cloud snapped out of his silent reverie. He slowly exhaled a sigh, and stood up from his space in the flowers. He had pressed them down, and they now had taken on his body shape. He smiled at the irony of it. "Look, I'm with Aerith." He quietly bent down and plucked one of the flowers. "If you can hear me, Aerith..." He sighed. "Of course you can't." He began to walk towards the church's exit, but thought better of it. "Or...Perhaps you can." He took a deep breath, and began.
"Aerith. I know that...Well...You know I'm not the best at saying how I feel. But...I think I ought to tell you...That you are very important to me."
He twirled the flower in between his fingers.
"So...If you can hear me...I want to tell you...That...Well...I..."
A sudden sound from behind caused him to swivel around.
"Cloud."
He stared in shock.
And the flower girl smiled that little, knowing smile. She giggled.
"Death is not an end..."
She walked closer towards him.
"But a new beginning."
Then, she placed her hands behind her back, leaned in, grinned, and said...
"I love you too, Cloud!"
