Everyone has their own little world...

Don't they?

Where they always shine,

where they always win…

Where no matter what happens,

they stand on the high end.

A world so much sweeter

than bitter reality.

My paradise is a deck of cards

and a beloved pair of dice.

I always win.

I never lose.

You know that feeling don’t you?

That thought of no one

being better than you.

Always at the top of your game

That spark of accomplishment

when declared the winner…

It’s magnificent, isn’t it?

So many days I feel this way.

Never having to look reality in the face.

But every once in awhile…

there comes a day…

When I don’t want to play.

But then I taste the bitter-sweet irony,

the so-called precious reality…

I need to play…

I’m already as incomplete as it is…

I can’t afford to lose,

I can’t afford to leave,

I need gambling…

It’s what saves me.

It’s what reminds me that once

I wasn’t a Nobody...

And yet…

Some days I love to play,

some days I can’t play,

And other days I remember…

There’s no risk of being the loser,

I always win…

The thrill is gone…

The thrill and excitement is gone…

All because Nobodies can’t have fun…

Fun?

Maybe if I were the loser,

I’d finally have some fun…
