Hey guys! Sorry that I was gone for so long. My computer, as always, likes to screw with me. So I hope that chapter 4 will make up for the lateness.

A Second Chance at Life: Son of a Bitch

As Kagome, Shippo, and Sesshomaru made their way back to the castle, Kagome pondered on how he found out about her escape. Coming up with nothing, she decided to ask him.

"Hey Sesshomaru?" He kept walking not answering her. First time.

"Sesshomaru?" Silence. Second time.

"Hey stop ignoring me you idiotic son of a bitch!" Third times the charm.

The next thing she knew there was a hand around her throat.

" Never speak me like that again. You are like dirt, and you are below me. Don't ever think that I won't kill you. The only reason you are still alive is because of Rin."

He let her go and she fell to the ground. Her hands rubbed her sore throat and Shippo came up and hugged her. Shippo then turned and looked at Sesshomaru with a furious look in his eyes.

" How dare you hurt her! And you call yourself a man! A real man would never put his hands on a woman! You're not a man! You're just a spoiled child that wants to kill everyone when he doesn't get his way! Its no wonder everyone hates you so much!"

Sesshomaru's eyes widened considerably as he heard Shippo's words.

' How dare that little brat tell this Sesshomaru what he is!'

With that he grabbed Shippo's throat and held his little body in the air. Shippo struggled wildly as he tried to get some air into his little lungs.

Kagome watched in horror as Sesshomaru held her kit in the air, restricting his lungs from obtaining precious air. She yelled for Sesshomaru to stop, but she watched as her son's struggles started to slow down. His eyes started to close and it looked like he was merely dozing off, but she knew that if his eyes closed, he would be in a permanent sleep. Before Shippo passed out, he called out "Mama..."

Then his eyes closed.

Sesshomaru's eyes were red as he was still furious at Shippo's comments. He knew that the child was still alive. He had merely passed out. But the angry female behind him thought different. By that time, he would finally experience a miko from the future's wrath.

With Kagome

Kagome watched in horror as her son's eyes closed. She heard what he called her and at that point, something in her snapped. Her eyes turned a purplish-blue and they alternated between those two colors occassionally, and her aura flared a misty ocean blue color. She soon found herself in darkness, floating around in the depths of her mind.

Outside her mind however, her body began to react on its own. Her rage directed at Sesshomaru for hurting her kit, and at herself for being weak and not being able to help him. Her hair floated around like there was wind blowing through it. Her senses became sharper and she could smell her son's fear. She could also hear his heartbeat and she was overjoyed that he was alive. But Sesshomaru would suffer her wrath. She moved towards him, rage in her eyes ath his actions, in her hands formed a sphere of purification energy.

With Sesshomaru

He watched as Kagome came toward him menacingly, with a sphere of purification energy. She had a look of pure rage on her face. He could tell that she was furious at him for harming her kit. He took a defensive stance and got ready to use Tokijin if he needed it. Then the situation changed as she started changing. Her hair took on purplish blue streaks, but her hair stayed its raven color. She grew claws and fangs and her strength increased exponentially. Her abs became tighter and her curves became more curvacious. Despite the situation he was in Sesshomaru couldn't help but stare at the beautiful creature before him. His beast whined at the fact that it could never have that creature. Because of what his master did, he had no chance of being mated to the woman in front of him. It howled with anger and regret. She then suddenly fell unconcious, the new features staying as she lay unmoving on the forest floor.

With Kagome (in her mind)

" What, where am I?" Kagome floated alone in the inky darkness of her mind. She had on a white kimono with no designs on it. She kept calling out into the darkness, but no one answered. She grew sad. She couldn't help her kit, and now he was dead. At that thought, a voice called out to her.

"Kagome." It said. It sounded like a woman's voice, and each time it called her name, it became louder, until the sound of the voice stopped in front of her.

An orb appeared in front of her and took the form of a woman. She remembered the image of the woman in front of from long ago in Sango's village. There was no doubt in her mind that the woman standing in front of her was Midoriko.

"Kagome, I have called you here because you must fulfill your purpose. You are the one who will save this land from Naraku."

" How can I save the world from Naraku, I couldn't even save my kit from Sesshomaru! And now he's dead. I'm useless. I couldn't save an innocent child so how can save the world!?" Kagome cried out as tears formed in her eyes.

Midoriko held Kagome like a mother would and rubbed her back to soothe her.

" Dear Kagome, I will unleash the untapped power you possess so that you can persue your destiny in saving the world. We must hurry, at this minute your powers are being unleashed and the anger you hold towards the demon lord will cause your body to protect yourself against him.''

As Kagome began to transform in her mind, her enhanced hearing picked up the sound of her kit's heartbeat. She became overjoyed and continued to transform. Not long after, she looked just like her body on the outside.

"Kagome, your body is about to attack Sesshomaru! You need him in order to save the world! Niether of you can do defeat Naraku alone. You need to work together with him."

" But-"

" No buts Kagome, you need to work with him. It's the only way. I must leave now Kagome. I will return later on but for now you must rest.''

With that Midoriko disappeared and Kagome fell unconcious.

With Sesshomaru

Sesshomaru picked up Kagome's body and proceeded on to his castle. He picked up the kit as well, if only to not anger her anymore than she already is. He was grateful that she was unconcious at the moment, for he knew that she would attempt to kill him for what he did her kit. He didn't blame her. If anyone did anything to hurt Rin, he would do things that would make the strongest man cry and beg for forgiveness. When he got to the castle, Rin was in the entrance hall with tears in her eyes at Kagome's disappearance.

" Rin." Sesshomaru called out to her softly. She looked up and saw Kagome in his arms. Although she looked a bit different, she was glad that she was back. She couldn't read yet, so she didn't know what the note that Kagome had left said. So she looked all around the castle and couldn't find her, so she told Sesshomaru. She cried thinking that Kagome had abandoned her.

" Sesshomaru-sama, why did Oka-san run away? Does she not like Rin anymore?" Rin looked at Sesshomaru with innocent tear-filled eyes.

He knew that he couldn't answer her. The reason Kagome left was because he had attacked her. If Rin found out that he attacked her, she would hate him. He didn't want the only person that mattered in his life to hate him. She was the light of his life. Her bright smiles would always brighten his day, and he would miss the flowers that she would bring for him. The flowers she brought for him would always soothe his frazzled nerves when something had come up to anger him or just when he was bored. He needed Rin in his life. He would go crazy without her laughter and smiles. That was precisely the reason why he couldn't tell her why Kagome left.

" Of course she likes you Rin, In fact, I can tell that she loves you very much. Maybe she had gotten scared." He blurted out the last part without thinking. He had to come up with a lie in order to calm Rin down.

" Why was she scared?"

Sesshomaru was worried at this point. He wanted nothing but to protect Rin from the evil of this world and she didn't need to know what had occured.

' Wait...protect.' He looked toward the fox kit in his arms and thought up a good lie.

" She wanted to get her fox kit. She was scared that he might get hurt without her so she ran away to go look for him.''

Sesshomaru was proud of himself. He made up a good sustainable lie and Rin bought it. He was lucky.

" Rin, its time for bed, I don't want you to be tired in the morning."

" Okay."

Rin went to skip away towards her room, but then she turned back and jumped on Sesshomaru. The weight of the three people was nothing to him. Rin hugged him and whispered in his ear.

" Good night, daddy." She gave him a swift kiss on the cheek and she skipped off to her room.

Sesshomaru smiled at his daughter, the love for her glimmering in his eyes.

She would only call him daddy in private because of all of demons in the castle. He loved being a parent to her. She was the sweetest thing and she always had respect for others. When he had spare time, he would accompany her in the garden and she would always pick flowers for him.

He quickly cleared his face of all emotion and hurried to put Kagome and her kit in her room.

' Rin has made me soft.'

After he put his two " passengers" in the room, he quickly headed to Rin's room, where he found her awake in bed. He picked up her favorite story book and read her her favorite story, The Hidden Beauty of the Fox. She fell asleep after the story was finished, and he tucked her in and kissed her on the forehead. He went to the door, and before he went out smiled at his child and how he would always protect her.

That was a good chapter! Do you think that Sesshomaru is too out of character in this one? Let me know, cuz I for one like the fact that he's being a good father to Rin. Here's a clue: Kagome will see him taking care of Rin and her feelings will change for him. How does that sound? Well I'm out. Oh, and give me some Ideas on what some of Kagome's powers should be.
