A/N: Well, this is my third one shot, and this is about Frostfur, and when she dies. Yes, I know she's not dead yet, or at least that we know of, but all cats die eventually.

Far Away

I sat in the RiverClan camp, slightly dosing off. Speckeltail and Mudfur had joined StarClan, leaving me all alone. Speckeltail had just left me alone. I looked sorrowfully over at Speckeltail. "Good bye my mentor, my friend." I whispered, a lump settling in my throat. I had known Speckeltail for so long . . . she had been my mentor. She was there when Lionheart died. She was there when ShadowClan stole my kits. She was there when all my kits left me, to go travel to the new territory. She was the one who persuaded me that going to the new territory was a bad idea, as much as I'd miss my kits.

Lionheart. . . Everytime I heard his name, I wanted to yowl out in sorrow. He was my mate, the father of my kits, and I had loved him with my heart and soul. And then he left me, soon after Firestar had joined our clan. I never blamed Firestar for what happened, but sometimes I wondered, if it was more than coincidence. All of Firestar's old mentors ended up dying. Lionheart, Tugerstar, Bluestar. And all of his apprentices were kind of odd. Cloudtail, who didn't believe in StarClan. And Brambleclaw, son of Tigerstar, could be carrying traitor blood for all I knew. And everytime I thought of Brambleclaw, I thought of Tigerstar, and then I thought of Lionheart, making me sad, and angry at the same time.

This time, This place
Misused, Mistakes
Too long, Too late
Who was I to make you wait
Just one chance
Just one breath
Just in case there's just one left
'Cause you know,
you know, you know

I had loved Lionheart more than I had loved any cat. I could even go as far as suggesting I loved him more than my own kits. But then again, they were the only thing that kept me alive. They were my link to him. I had watched in horror when Cinderpelt was crippled, but then as if Lionheart himself had provided an answer, then Cinderpelt had become a medicine cat apprentice. Brightheart had been attacked by a pack of dogs, but then it seemed Lionheart blessed Cloudtail with the reserve to help her. Everytime something bad had happened to my kits, and they pulled through, it reminded me of him.

That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you'll be with me
and you'll never go
Stop breathing if
I don't see you anymore

And when they went away, I thought my heart was tearing in two. Not only was Lionheart dead, but my only four kits were gone. Gone with the rest of the clan. For all I knew, they could've died on the journey to the new territory. I was so busy reminiscing, that I could've sworn I was hearing things when I heard a familiar voice whisper my name.

Frostfur . . . the voice came, sounding through my ears.

I leapt to my paws. "Lionheart!" I yowled, certain I had heard his voice. I searched the clearing, hoping that I wasn't going crazy being alone, and I had really heard his voice whisper in my ear.

So far away
So far away
Been far away for far too long
So far away
So far away Been far away for far too long
But you know, you know, you know

Suddenly, my nostrils were filled with a warm, familiar, sweet scent. A starry figure was padding towards me. "Lionheart!" I yowled, my voice filled with joy. At long last, my love had returned to me. A shiver passed through me, as a thought passed through my head. Am I dying?

I wanted
I wanted you to stay
'Cause I needed
I need to hear you say
That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I forgive you
For being away for far too long
So keep breathing
'Cause I'm not leaving you anymore
Believe it
Hold on to me and, never let me go
Keep breathing
'Cause I'm not leaving you anymore
Believe it
Hold on to me and, never let me go
Keep breathing
Hold on to me and, never let me go
Keep breathing
Hold on to me and, never let me go

"Come on Frostfur. It's time for you to join us." Lionheart murmured, his soothing voice washing over my senses, making me forget that he died in the first place.

"I'm not ready . . . you've been far away for far too long." I murmured, pressing myself against him. Or at least trying to. I looked sorrowfully into his eyes.

"I won't let anything happen to you . . . but you need to come with me." Lionheart murmured, his gaze searching over my features.

"You're not far away anymore." I murmured, and closed my eyes. When I opened them again, I was swathed in starlight, and Lionheart was still at my side. My youth was reflected in his eyes, and I knew he wouldn't be far away anymore.
