A/N: I'm back again with the one-shot for tonight's episode. This is an alternate view on the (House/Cameron) Seen at the end of 'Informed Consent' in a 'You' point of view from Cameron's perspective.
Was It Right?
XXXXXXXXxxxxxxxxx
You sit alone where you think no one will find you. You're an atheist after all, who would come to look for you in a chapel. Safe, you figure that is what you are here.
Seeing him like that mad eyou think of your husband. You watched him suffer, watched his pain. Was it right then to watch him while he slept knowing you could never involve yourself in his wishes. Couldn't grant his wish.
Now this man, this doctor. You wonder why you decided to end his suffering. Was it right now? To do this to someone you didn't even know? Was it right?
You feel a solitary tear trail down your cheek. A pressure on your shoulder. Warmth that feels strange but comforting. You look down, the crumpled cuff, House. At that you feel the gentle motions as he caresses your shoulder. And his words echo in your mind.
"I'm proud of you."
You want to ask him if it was right, but you know he'd never answer. Never tell. So when he lifts his hand you grasp it as tears flow freely.
At that point you knew he was uneasy, but you didn't want to be alone.
Thump - thump-thump - thump.
"I am proud." He repeats.
You look at him and scoot over, he sits. It's not like him, but you can't help but lean into him as he pulls you close. Repeating inside that you don't want to be alone.
He's not sorry he's here, you're not sorry that your tears are staining his grey suit-jacket.
In silence he cradles you, and you ask yourself that question once again.
