Sailor Moon X
Prologue: So Close
You’re in my arms
And all the world is calm
“We did it!” she cried, throwing her arms around his neck.
“No,” he pulled back so he could stare into her bright, sapphire eyes, “You did it. You saved everything.”
She smiled and hugged him tightly.
The music playing on for only two
So close together
He scanned the large crowd that had gathered. Where was she?
“Seiya,” Yaten whispered, nudging him, “Come on. Snap out of it.”
His eyes finally locked on to hers. With a smile, he started to sing.
And when I’m with you
So close to feeling alive
“You know, everything in the universe has a shinning star.”
“Really?” she looked up at the stars in awe.
“Yeah.” He looked at her, then back up at the black sky that was lit solely by thousands of bright, twinkling stars.
A life goes by
Romantic dreams must die
So I bid mine goodbye and never knew
“Mamoru.”
The man looked in his direction.
“Take good care of her.”
The short haired man nodded, slightly confused as the other turned and walked back over to his family.
So close was waiting, waiting here with you
“I’ll never forget you, Odango,” he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. “Never.”
And now forever I know
All that I wanted to hold you
So close
The room went pitch black. Frightened screams erupted from the dancers. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close to him, protecting her.
“Don’t worry,” he whispered in her ear.
So close to reaching that famous happy ending
“Mamo-chan!” she sobbed into her lover’s chest, “I was s-so scared!”
“Fighter?”
“Hm?” She tore her eyes away from the happy, reunited couple.
Almost believing this was not pretend
“Oy, Odango!” He slung his bag over his shoulder just as she turned around to face him with a questioning look. “Do you have a boyfriend?”
She fidgeted a little, avoiding looking at his face, “Yes….oversea….”
“Good,” he smirked, “Then I have a chance after all.”
And now you’re beside me and look how far we’ve come
“Do you really have to go?” she pouted.
“Yes. We’re going to rebuild Kinmoku now that Chaos has been defeated.”
So far
We are
So far
“I’ll never forget you either, Seiya! You’ve been a great friend!”
He noticed how tightly she was clinging to her prince’s arm. He resisted the urge to cringe as his heart heaved.
How could I face the faceless days
If I should lose you now?
“Goodbye, Odango.”
“Goodbye, Seiya!”
We’re so close
To reaching that famous happy ending
And almost believing this was not pretend
Let’s go on dreaming for we know we are
So close
So close
“Goodbye, Seiya.”
And still so far.

AN: This is the third time I’ve rewritten the introduction. The first time was mostly a “what’s going on with the senshi now” sort of thing. The second time was a tie in with Kinmoku and the Moon Kingdom, mostly for my original second arc involving the Starlights more than the other senshi.
I have to say, I really prefer this intro to the others. The song is from the Enchanted soundtrack, and it’s called So Close by John McLaughlin.
I’ll give you a warning now, if you don’t like the UsagiXSeiya pairing, you’d be smart to leave now. The back button is awfully convenient in predicaments such as these.
I’m a very big UsagiXSeiya fangirl, and most of my pairings aren’t anything close to canon. However, you will find lots of HarukaXMichiru and MakotoXMotoki (PGSM anyone?) in this fic.
I update monthly, sometimes not for a few months, but when I do it’s normally a forty page long chapter in Word. The wait is normally worth it. Or at least that’s what I’m told.
The rest of the chapters won’t be songfics. Don’t worry too much. xD
I love feedback, both positive and negative, though I will rarely respond due to time restraints. I’m not trying to ignore you; I don’t even check my email on a regular basis. I normally only check it once a month, so I never know if I actually have reviews or not.
I suppose I’ll end this awfully long author’s note now, but I thought I should let you in on what’s going on with the fic. In anyone needs to contact me, my yahoo instant messenger email is on my profile. I’m always online. No joke.
