Challenge Fic

This fanfic was written for the Haruka and Michiru fanfic
authors' mailing list. It's the A-Z challenge.

"Aha!"
"But that's not a word, koi."
"Come on, Michiru!"
"Don't be difficult, Haruka. 'Endo' is not in the
Scrabble dictionary," she countered, pointing to the
appropriate page.
"Fine, I'll take my letters back."
"Good, now it's my turn."
"How many points do you get for that one?"
"I don't know yet. Just a second."
Kaioh Michiru sat in her living room playing Scrabble
with her lover and best friend Tenoh Haruka. Loving
someone doesn't always guarantee that you will enjoy
the same things as your partner. Maybe that was why
the argument started in the first place.
"No, I really don't like this game!"
"Oh, I see. Please feel free to quit playing at any
time."
"Quit getting angry with me every time I don't like
something you like!"
"Remember when we built that model of your race car
together?"
"See, I knew you'd bring that up. That's it I'm going
for a drive!"
Until she saw the tears in her lover's eyes, Haruka
had thought she could make it. Verdant green eyes
widened as she rushed to apologize to her love.
"Want to go upstairs and do something else?" Haruka
asked hopefully.
"'Xylem' on a double letter score, that's 19 points
to me," Michiru said making a note on the score paper.
"You're still playing...let's see," Haruka sighed.
"'Zipper', with a triple letter... that's thirty...with a
double word is seventy eight points for me, so I win!"
she yelled scooping up her astonished aqua haired
prize and racing upstairs.

Authors Notes:
Endo is biker's slang and Haruka would probably be
used to using it:

endo
n. the maneuver of flying unexpectedly over the
handlebars, thus being forcibly ejected from the bike.
Short for "end over end". "I hit that rock and went
endo like nobody's business." See "superman". In BMX
riding, "endo" used to be a synonym for front wheelie.

Zipper
To see a broken zipper in your dream, signifies your
frustration in not being able to resolve a situation
or problem. Seeing a zipper in your dream may also
have sexual connotations and innuendos.
