Nancy's Strange Day

The soft sound of the wind rustling the leaves of the oak trees and the trickle of the stream was very pleasant to the ears of a young girl who sat among them.
The girl was around the age of 20 or so, sitting on a rock by the stream among the large and shady oaks which shielded her from the hot sun.
She was wearing a blue dress to match her beautiful blue eyes, which were always full of adventure and mystery.
Her hair was strawberry blond, her face was bright and beautiful, so that it seemed to glow like the sun, or at least, that's how it looked to the young man with her.
The young man wore a green plaid shirt and jeans, he eyes were handsome and kind.

The two were camping in the woods of upper Alabama and they were happy to be together, alone and away from the everyday lifestyle.
A deer came out of nowhere to drink from the stream, but then it was gone, like lightning, it ran through the forest!

Daddy, came a voice from behind, "what're you doing?" it asked.

"Oh, nothing much son," the young man replied.

What you doing daddy, came another voice but this time it came from a girl.

"Oh, just watching the birds," the young man replied.

The boy was about the age of two or three and he had soft brown eyes that were calm yet curious.

The girl was also about the age of two or three, but her eyes were blue like her mother's
and they were big and wide with curiosity.

But daddy, you said you was doing nothing, said the little boy, whose name by the way was Nick.

Yeah, Daddy, you sayed you were doing nothing, said the little girl, her name was Nellie

"Well yes, I did but…" "What daddy?" "I meant… well you see I'm doing nothing while I watch the birds," said the young man.

"They've done it to you again Ned," the young girl laughed.

"Yes, Nancy, I guess they have," replied Ned.

"They do seem smarter then I thought, but what should I expect, after all they take after you in brains, Nancy," Ned said.

"Oh phewy," cried Nancy.

So there they sat the four of them; husband, wife, son and daughter, doing nothing while watching the birds.

Then Nancy heard a beeping sound which grew louder and louder until suddenly there was a shout "move it!" Nancy was sitting in traffic in her blue convertible.
As Nancy guiltily drove on she realized what had happened.
She had been sitting in traffic waiting for a wreck to be cleared up when she had floated away on a daydream and had not noticed what was going on around her, or that the wreck had been cleared up.

"How silly," thought Nancy as she drove on, "I guess I won't do that again, but it would have been fun!"

When Nancy got home that evening Ned was there.

"Great camping trip we had wasn't it, Nancy," said Ned.

"Huh! What camping trip? What? this isn't my house!" Cried Nancy

"Yes it is dear," said Ned, a little puzzled.

"Hi mommy," said two little voices.

Nancy went into the kitchen of the house and on the table there was a letter addressed to: Mrs. Nancy Nickerson.

"What!" thought Nancy, "Well how do you like that, I'm married with two kids and a new house and I'm the last one to hear about it!"

"Nancy! Oh, Nancy! Time for breakfast dear."

Nancy woke up in her own bed at the Drew house; Hannah had been calling her down to breakfast.

"So it was all a dream," thought Nancy, she sighed in spite of herself.

"So it was all a dream," she thought again.

Or was it?

Well, there is! I hope you liked it, and leaving me a reveiw wouldn't hurt, would it? It would be greatly appreciated!
