Chapter Eight

A/N. WOW. I didn't realize it had taken me over 5 months to update this. And for that I apologize. I just forgot where the story was going, and I wanted to wait until it came back to me. (Sorry about all those weird squiggles, Vista is really weird.)

Feeling more herself around him than she normally would have, she took his hand in hers, and let him lead her to his place. She felt kind of giddy. She almost wanted to feel bad. But this felt so right. She tried reasoning with herself, that it's not like she was going to be cheating on anyone. Her heart started thudding in her chest. She had never ever felt like this for a boy before. No┘ Mamoru definitely wasn't a boy. She glanced up at him out of the corner of her eyes, wondering how he would feel about her if he knew she was Sailor Moon. It did seem kind of unfair that she knew his secret, yet he didn't know hers.

Mamoru was thinking along the same lines. He knew it wasn't exactly right. And maybe that's why he wanted it. He couldn't tell if he wanted it because it was traditionally wrong, or if he wanted it because he wanted this girl. His heart started pounding. They were nearing the edge of the park, and Usagi stopped him. He knew it, she was having second thoughts about this, he knew it was a bad idea, what was he thinking?!

"Mamo-Chan?" She asked quietly. Not sure of how to announce that she knew his secret, and that she had a secret to tell him too. Mamoru just sighed, feeling that he knew she was going to blow him off at any second.
"Yeah... I know this was a bad idea... I'm sorry." All his words just came rushing out and he couldn't stop himself. Usagi just looked at him. She kind of wanted to laugh, in a sick twisted way, the way one does when they're rejected.
"Um... That's not what I was going to say." She started, looking down at her feet. "I um..." She had lost all courage to speak at this point. And her eyes started watering up with tears. "I gotta go!" She said, turning on her heel and running towards home. She felt miserable. He thought she was a bad idea. Her thoughts were racing with rejection fresh on her mind. She felt totally depleted. She had felt so good that afternoon, felt that maybe she had a chance. But he was just toying with her. As she was running down the street towards her house, her scout communicator started going off. 'Ugh, what now?' She thought to herself as she slowed to a stop and dug it out of her purse.
"Hurry up! There's been an attack at the park!" Ami shouted at her, as you could see a fireball fly by in the background.
"The park? But I was JUST there!" Usagi sighed exasperatedly. "I'm on my way..." She said, dodging into an alleyway and transforming.

Meanwhile...

'Where did she go?' Mamoru thought to himself, 'She was JUST here!' He heard a female voice to his left, and he ducked into an alleyway and hid. He heard the voice louder than before "I'm on my way..." And he saw Usagi duck past him into the alleyway. What he saw next, blew his fragile little mind.

"Silver Moon Power, MAKE UP!" He saw Usagi cry, raising a closed fist in the air. A pale white light started to form around her, glowing brighter with each step, her clothes were stripped away in a bright flash of white, and in mere seconds she stood as Sailor Moon, and not klutzy Usagi.
And that's when it hit him. The girl he'd been talking to on the internet... The reason why he had such a strong attraction to Usagi. But... could she also be the woman in his dreams? He then felt a sudden twang of a headache. DUH! Of course! Sailor Moon needed him! He transformed as well, and dashed off after her.
