Ultra-Violet Moon
Chapter 1: Break-Ups, Break-Ins and Making New Friends
"I hate you Tony Rydinger! Get out of my face! I never want to see you ever again!" screamed a very loud, very angry Violet Parr. Now Violet Parr was never one to lose her temper. She was always the quiet reserved student who hardly ever said anything, yet was a genius when it came to school work. Yet today everyone, even the teachers, found out to never cross Miss Parr…..Ever!
After storming off from her now ex-boyfriend she slumped onto the steps of Fieldbrook High, and cried. How did she ever like that creep?
"I can't believe he would do something like that in public and at school! He knew I would probably see him. Probably did it just to spite me." Violet grumbled. Some boyfriend he was. Making out with that cheerleader on the very first day of freshman year.
"Damn him!" she fumed. She was so mad she almost didn't feel her cell phone go off. Feeling it in her pocket she pulled it out and flipped it open.
"Vi?" Her mother's voice asked at the other end.
"Yeah mom, I'm here." She mumbled.
"Look honey I know it's your first day of high school but there's been a break in at Tyndales Jewelry which is near your school. Could you go check it out? Dash is still to young to skip school and your father's busy in New York and I have Jack- Jack…"
"Yeah mom it's okay, I got it. I'll be there in a few." She then flipped the phone closed. She loved her mother dearly but sometimes she could ramble like no other. Deciding not to waste any more time she rushed off to Tyndales.
Now for those of you who don't know the Parr family very well, let me elaborate. On the outside the Parr's appear to be your normal everyday family but when you finally dig deep enough you see they are actually the Incredibles. They are a family of superheroes who fight super villains and keep the country and yes sometimes even the world safe. Supers were recently accepted back into society thanks to the Incredibles and their many heroics and that opened the door to many other Supers returns. But now back to the story at hand.
By the time Violet reached Tyndales she had donned her super suit. The police were already there but Violet could tell that they needed help. She was greeted by a friendly detective who asked her to take a look around. Violet nodded and proceeded to snoop around. The thief was already gone but Violet did find a few strands of grayish blue hair that resembled dog fur on the floor and even on the broken glass of a display.
When she couldn't find anything else she excused herself and walked back to her school.
However, before she was too close to school she ducked in a hidey hole and changed back into her street clothes. Before she had left the crime scene many police thanked her and called her "Inviso-girl". Oh how she hated that name! But the reporters couldn't come up with anything better so they stuck with that. If she could pick the name herself she would be called "Ultra-Violet" but no one really ever listened to her anyway. Well no one accept her family that is.
By the time Violet got back to school it was almost time for school to be out so she waited by the bus stop for her bus to come by. When the 2:30 bell rang about 300 students stormed out of the high school eager to go home. About half of those students had their own cars and were racing to see who would be first out of the parking lot.
Violet just shook her head as she saw people scrambling to leave.
"And that's why I take the bus." Came an unfamiliar masculine voice from beside her. Startled Violet turned to see who spoke. A tall very good looking guy was standing beside her with a green shirt that said "Kiss Me I'm Irish" written on it. He wore semi baggy blue jeans with a blue flame belt and black and blue Vans. He smiled at her and she blushed and looked away.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." He spoke again this time his Gaelic accent very noticeable. He reached his hand and waited for her.
"My name's Conri."
"Conri? Like Sean Connery?" Violet asked.
"No, He's Scottish, I'm Irish."
'I couldn't tell' Violet thought sarcastically.
Violet eyed his hand a second then looked at his face again. He had a charming smile and medium length coal black hair. She took his hand and shook it.
"Violet. Violet Parr." She smiled.
"Oh Conri there you are!" Came a very mad sounding female voice in the same thick accent he had.
Conri winced and whispered to Violet.
"That's my sister Gael. She's pretty annoying."
Violet tried not to but couldn't help but chuckle.
"Oh don't believe a word my brother says. He just likes to badger pretty girls and make me look bad in front of others." Gael teased
By now Violet was really giggling.
"Can't you leave me alone for two minutes?" Conri flushed.
"Now where would the fun in that be mate?" answered a very Australian voice.
"Oy Vey! Not you too Dameon. Go away! I'm trying to have a decent conversation with Miss Violet here." Conri growled.
"Puh, yeah right! Like you could hold a decent conversation." Gael snorted.
Violet watched the interaction between them all but when the buss arrived she felt it was best to interrupt them.
"Uh, excuse me but I think we need to get on board." Violet called.
The three of them ceased their bickering and followed her on board. She headed toward the back where Kari was seated reading her Latin homework. The buses stopped at different points on the school grounds before taking the students home. It was easier for kids who had classes on one side of the school to get to the buses anyway without having to run across campus.
When Violet approached Kari looked up from her Latin book and glanced behind Violet.
"Umm, Vi? Who are your friends?" Kari asked.
Violet blushed a little then composed herself.
"This is Conri and Gael. They're brother and sister and this is…."
"Dameon. And it's a pleasure to meet you miss." Dameon finished taking Kari's hand and softly kissing it.
Kari blushed about three different shades of red and mumbled something inaudibly, but it sounded close to,
"Pleasure to meet you too."
She then looked up and moved over to make room for the others. Dameon sat beside her and Gael on the other side of him. Violet and Conri sat in the seat just in front of them. On the way back home they all began talking about everything that had happened that day. They did find out that they were all freshmen and liked most of the same stuff.
Violets neighborhood was the first stop for the five of them so before she left of course Kari had to bring up Tony.
"So are you guys over with?" she asked after Violet told them what happened earlier that day.
"They better damn well be! You'd be stupid to still want him after that." Gael stated harshly. You could defiantly tell Gael was Irish. She had that fighting spirit.
"Yeah we are over with. I guess I should have seen this coming. I mean look at me. Who wants to actually be scene with this." She gestured to her self.
For a while Violet tried to do the whole preppy look but she realized it just wasn't her. She wasn't a cheerleader. She liked punk rock, videogames, skating, and was really book-wormy. She wore baggy clothes most of the time still and went back to wearing her hair down and in her face again. Well accept when she was on missions. It got to be in the way too much then. She just wanted to be unique not just another copy of fashion.
Thinking about how she had tried to change for him made her angry at herself, but a hand resting on top of hers made her look up.
"I would." Conri smiled
Violet smiled understandingly up at him and squeezed his hand,
"Thanks, but really all I really need right now are some awesome friends."
Conri smiled a real cheesy but sincere smile,
"What did you think we were here for? Accented décor? "
Violet laughed as the bus stopped near her house.
"Oops I gotta go! See you guys tomorrow." Violet called as she got off the bus. She turned and watched the bus pull away. Finally she started for her house.
'Maybe high school won't be so bad after all.' Violet thought.
When she got home, Helen Parr was in the kitchen making dinner.
"Hi honey. How was your first day of high school?"
Violet smiled as she helped her mother set the table,
"Oh uneventful really….Oh and mom…..If Tony calls tell him we're through."
Wow really long. This is just the first chapter. I'm sorry if my sentences are sketchy its almost 2 in the morning here. And I'm tired. I hope you like this first Installment of Ultra-Violet Moon. The title will make more sense the further the story goes. Hope you enjoy. This is my second Incredibles fanfic. The first one was a songfic I wrote shortly after the movie came out in theaters. I went to see Disney on Ice and it inspired me to write this fanfic. By the way I'm not a big Tony fan but I don't actually see him doing this to poor Violet. It's just the way it ended up coming out like.
Well good night
