It was so dark. So dark, and the woman was screaming.

He jerked awake, mercifully.

His brother looked over at him with wide, frightened eyes. “What is it?” he asked.

“Nothing,” came the reply. “Nothing.”

“Okay.” Sam accepted this doubtfully. “Well, I just had this dream—”

“Did you,” said Dean. Revelation was for another day.

A/N: I know the chances of this are ridiculously slim to none (almost unlikely enough to make it AU, really), but when we were challenged to write something involving secrets, the plot bunny wouldn’t leave me alone. Hope you liked it.
