Authors note: If there is anyone who would like to proof this story for me, let me know. I don’t have anyone to do it and I’m notorious for mixing up letters (for example form and from). Anyhow, if you’re reading my Labyrinth story, don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten, just a really bad case of writer’s block, it’s almost finished anyhow… Hope you enjoy!

Prologue

Captain Jack Sparrow stood steering the Black Pearl with his normal drunken swagger. His eyes gazed out into the darkness unseeing. His mind was not exactly there at the moment. He heard Mr. Cotton’s parrot sing out “Land Ho, Land Ho!” He grinned and shook himself out of his thoughts. Sparrow took a swig of rum from the bottle in the hand that wasn’t steering his Pearl. He’d show that little girl he meant business. No one made a fool of Captain Jack Sparrow and got away with it. Mr. Gibbs came up to stand beside him.

“Comin’ up hard on Port Royale Cap’n.”

“We’ll be hittin’ shore hard n’ fast, tell ‘em to be ready. Ye stay here n’ make sure the men have the Pearl ready when we arrive savvy mate?”

“Aye, Cap’n.”

They anchored a ways offshore and Sparrow took the few men he’d chosen in a rowboat to shore. From there he led the men through the shadows and back alleyways close to a house. He stuck his head inside the blacksmith’s shop next door and was relieved to see no one but the lazy donkey, who was bedded down for the night.

The six men crept next door and snuck around the back of the house. Sparrow fumbled around for a moment for the key he’d been given to said house. When the key went into the lock it wouldn’t move. The bloody whelp had changed the lock. He had a damned good idea who had convinced him to change it too. His eyes narrowed and he flounced his hands around for a moment before placing a boot against the door. He drew back and kicked, though trying to be as quiet as possible. They looked around for a moment and saw no movement before piling into the house, all the while deadly silent.

It took the men no time to make their way upstairs and they split into two groups. Three of Sparrow’s men went into the first bedroom, a nice, large suite. The couple lying asleep in bed was awakened to the sounds of pistols being cocked. They both sat up and reached for their respective bedside tables.

“I wouldn’ be doin’ that if I were you mates…” came a gruff voice from the dark.

The two withdrew their hands and one of the pirates stepped over to the lady. He smiled and his left eye rolled horribly as he started tying her up. She arched an eyebrow and snapped, almost hissing at him.

“Ragetti, what in the bloody hell do you think you are doing to me? Where is Jack? I know he’s behind all of this.”

He smiled apologetically as he spoke quietly to her.

“I’m ‘orribly sorry Miss Eliz… I mean Mrs. Turner, ye see, Jack needed to have a word wit’...”

He trailed off as he finished tying her he looked over to see his partner Pintel had finished tying the other Turner up. He quickly gagged her and backed away. Pintel had tied Will up and gagged him just as Ragetti had done Elizabeth. Will was too groggy from being woken up to speak, his mind still trying to wrap around what was happening.

Meanwhile in the room down the hall…

Una slept peacefully, a slight smirk playing on her lips as she dreamt of a rather infamous pirate captain and how she has bested him at his own game. She grimaced as her dream turned dark, she whined in her sleep as he found her and grabbed her as she was out for a walk.

It took her a moment to realize she was no longer asleep and a scream stuck in her throat. She was in someone’s arms like she had been in the dream. Then she heard a voice she really had hoped she might never again…

“Well ‘ello luv.”

She froze in his arms and he chuckled darkly she could feel his warm breath against her ear and she shivered against him. He smirked into the darkness of her room before speaking again.

“Mmm… I thought so. I wanted te come n’ tell ye something.” He paused and she whimpered ever so slightly. “No one makes a fool of Captain Jack Sparrow and gets away with it… Savvy luv?”

Her world went dark as he hit her in the back of the head. He didn’t want her hurt terribly, just enough to make her head ache when she woke, not to mention quiet her all the way to the docks. He slung her over his shoulder and carried her out into the hallway.

Sparrow stopped in the doorway of Will and Elizabeth’s room.

“Will, Lizzie, nice te see ye again. Sorry te run but I just need te pick up my parcel here. We’ll be on our way now.”

He nodded to his men and smiled dazzlingly to Lizzie, who shot daggers at him with her look. He was pretty sure he heard dome very unladylike things come from her gagged mouth as well. The men disappeared out of the house and the six men and one unconscious young woman made their way to the rowboat and eventually back to the Pearl before anyone else in Port Royal had any inkling as to what had happened…

I love getting reviews from people. Feel free to leave me a little note. I promise it won’t be long before the next chapter is up, probably by 10/07/06 if not by tonight. Fair warning: My husband spends a lot of time in the hospital, so don’t think I’ve forgotten about this, more than likely if I’m gone for any length of time I will come back and post several chapters back to back.

Thanks, DS
