What Happened to Binns

Slowly…

Ever so slowly…

Professor Binns packed his things up from his last class and went down to dinner in the Great Hall. He was very tired, and didn't feel up to much at the moment.

Binns was the second oldest person in Hogwarts school, with the first being Dumbledore himself. Binns sat down in his chair at the staff table, and, not really paying any attention to what he was eating, at his dinner and went back up to his office.

Slowly…

Ever so slowly…

He got into his pajamas and nightcap and lay down on his bed. He would correct the student's homework tomorrow morning. He fell asleep.

The next morning, he got out of bed and changed with his eyes sill closed. He was still extremely tired. Suddenly, he stumbled on something. Looking down, he saw a pale, very dead face, looking back up at him. Binns choked back a sob. He was looking into the dead face of himself.

Examining his new ghost body, Binns started flying, floating, and swooping through the air and through walls. He did flips, and caused chaos in his office/bedroom. He skipped breakfast, seeing as he was now a ghost and had no need for breakfast.

His first class that day was a mixed class of Gryffindor and Slytherin first years. Binns couldn't wait to see all of their pale little faces when they saw the new him. Staying in his office, he waited until he was sure that all of the students had congregated in the classroom below, and then drifted through the wall, placing himself at his desk.

His entire class screamed and fainted.

You would think they would get used to seeing ghosts by now.
