It was Valentine's Day at Duel Academy, and Jaden Yuki was busy trying to get his hair to look just right.

'Maybe Chazz likes the gothic look or the gay look…or neither of them…' Jaden thought as he examined the bag of hair-dye products he bought.

Suddenly, the door of his room flung open and Alexis Rhodes ran in. She quickly shut the door and locked it.

"Phew!" Alexis slumped down onto the floor and wiped her brow.

"Uh…hi, Alexis. What are you doing in here?" asked the bewildered Slifer Red student.

Alexis stood up and replied, "Sorry for suddenly barging in on you, Jaden, but Mindy and Jasmine won't leave me alone! Every goddamn Valentine's Day, those two try to seduce me into being their girlfriend!"

Jaden just nodded like he understood. Luckily for Alexis, Jaden understands problems with same-gender love, considered that he is gay himself.

"What do they do, exactly?" Jaden asked.

"What don't they do!" Alexis shouted, "They use drugs, alcohol, hypnosis, flirting, random kisses on the lips, panty shots, rubbing-"

"Do you…like it?"

A sly grin formed on Jaden's face as he watched Alexis's cheeks redden.

"W-Well…I dunno…maybe?" Alexis tried to not make eye contact with Jaden.

Suddenly, Jaden did something that not even he expected. He bent forward slightly and kissed Alexis on the lips.

When they separated, Jaden asked, "So…did that make you feel any different?"

Alexis just stood there for a few moments, her fingers moving across her lips. Alexis looked up at Jaden and muttered, "No…I didn't feel anything…"

"Then that could mean two things," Jaden explained, "Either you like another boy or…"

"Or what?"

"…you could be a lesbian."

Alexis collapsed onto her knees and clutched her head with one hand. "No…it can't be…" Alexis clenched her fists hard and Jaden's eyes widened when he saw blood start to drip from the gloves.

Jaden lifted Alexis up, pulled her into a hug, and whispered, "Hey. Don't be too hard on yourself. Besides, you could be in love with another boy instead of me, anyway…"

Alexis pressed her face into Jaden's comforting shoulder and cried.

Later…

Mindy and Jasmine were sulking by the beach, tossing rocks into the ocean. They hadn't seen Alexis all day, and they were hoping to ask her to come with them to the Valentine's Day Ball.

"I wonder if the others are having fun?" Mindy said out of the blue.

Jasmine tossed another rock into the ocean and replied, "They're probably dancing right now."

"Why don't you come and see?"

Mindy and Jasmine looked up and saw Jaden, Alexis, and Chazz walking down the rock path towards them.

Mindy was about to run up and greet Alexis, but Jasmine jumped in the way and shouted, "What the hell are you guys doing here? No one wants us anyway!"

Alexis walked up from behind Jaden and said, "That's not true! I'm sorry that I hurt both of your feelings, I truly am. If you come with me to the dance…could you forgive me?"

Jasmine looked at Mindy and then back to Alexis.

"I'll go, Alexis!" Mindy shouted. Mindy ran past Jasmine and gave Alexis a small kiss on the lips. Jasmine just shrugged and followed suit…
