Strike Me Crimson

Strike me crimson with soft lullabies

Of misplaced youth and stricken dreams

And I will grace your arms with white

Silk soft ablaze with fiery schemes.

Your lies and promises, cold and cruel,

Is sweet salvation to this boring dame.

A return in interest from my lips sling

Sweet whispers of thy crafty name…

So pluck me, strike me so,

With lullabies ringing through my head

I'm fallen; a rose cut off from the earth

As you leisurely string stars on my bed

And I will promise you my love

Though words will fly unspoken

Relieve me of stark reality

Save me from being broken

For I am child

I am woman

Nothing constant can refrain

The sacred vestige of a child

That slowly grows mundane.

So strike me crimson with your touch

So gentle and unfeeling

Provide in me a lasting crutch

So I won't keep on kneeling

Split my heart before in haste

I give my all away in vain

Break the child that I might live

For nothing constant can remain.

And I will whisper silently

Your name -

Your name…

Your name
