Hello! Long time no see XD Just for my readers, I began to write my Normality chapter 18... I'll probably finish it in one week or so

Halloween is coming, and when I realised that, an idea poppede in my head! So this is for you, I hope you'll enjoy it 2449 words, and IchiRuki fluff goodness, only for you XD

Disclaimer: of course, I don't own Bleach, and I'm still french, so sorry for the errors you'll find :p don't hesitate to post any comment so that I can improve

In the house floated an atmosphere of delight, in spite of the horrible decorations everywhere. The Kurosaki seemed to be very fond of Halloween –excluding Ichigo, who had groaned something like “What? It’s yet Halloween?” with an annoyed look on his face. She had to ask him what ‘Halloween’ was, a few days ago.

Flashback…

“A stupid tradition. Not even a Japanese one, but an American one. We’re disguising ourselves, and going out, asking threat or treat in each house, and the people there give us candies.” He shrugged. “The worst thing is that I can’t escape it, since not only my family is very fond of Halloween, but my friends too. I’d rather not think about Keigo trying to look frightening in zombie attire.”

She was excited. She heard “disguise” and “candies” in the same sentence, and that alone was enough to make her drool over this ‘Halloween’ thing.

End of flashback…

Happily, she took the box that she just received by mail. It should be perfect, she thought, grinning wildly. She had passed the two previous hours discussing with Ichigo’s sisters. The twins wanted to imitate murdering dolls, or something like this –she didn’t understand all their babblings, but it was what she could grasp from their conversation. They used lots of fake blood, and even dolls-like wigs, which made Karin mutter dark curses. But Yuzu pointed out that this year, it was her turn to chose, so she really had no choice but to put on the really girly dress Yuzu bought the other day at the mall. Oh, well, I shouldn’t have any… Her eyes widened, as she opened the box.

She stormed into his room, while he was putting on his white shirt. And then, he gaped.

“Ru-Rukia, what? How?” His mind was shouting that there was a rational explanation, to why, oh why God, Rukia was standing in front of him, with fishnets stockings, a black leotard with –were that bunny ears on her head?

“I don’t understand, Ichigo,” she complained. “I wanted a rabbit costume, and they sent me that? What should I do? We’ve got a rendezvous with the others in only two hours, now I can’t change it.”

He frowned deeply, trying to hide his embarrassment. “Didn’t you see what you ordered?” he asked, surprised.

She pouted. “Not really. I was talking about the Halloween costume I wanted with your father, and he offered to order it…”

He slapped his forehead. Everything was clear now. “Anyway, you can’t go like that!” he stated. He wasn’t blushing, no. Blushing was for the weaklings. Even though, his neck felt maybe a little hot. But God, she had to change! If Keigo saw her like this, it would be the end of the world. His mind was racing, trying to find a solution.

“Then, do you have any idea? Should I stay here because I’ve got no costume?”

He took her wrist and dragged her up in his sisters’ room. “We’ll find something here, that fits you.”

“But I can’t borrow Yuzu’s dresses, they are too-”

“I know! I never said you were going to borrow one of her dresses. There, she keeps all her stuff for tailoring here. There must be something that fits…” He was really desperate, he thought darkly. Anything to cover her slender legs would be fine. Wait. Did he just think slender? Oh God. He was contaminated by his father and Keigo. That had to be that. “I can’t find anything!” Sewing… that reminded him of… quickly, he grabbed his cell phone. “Ishida? I need your help. Rukia messed up her costume, do you have any idea for her? You’re coming? Okay…” He hanged up, and looked at the petite shinigami. “He’ll be here in ten minutes. I’m going to dress up, and then we’ll see what he has in store for you.”

She nodded. “Thank you Ichigo.”

Baka. I didn’t do anything.” But when I’ll find my old man, I’ll sure kick his ass.

She heard the doorbell ring, and Ichigo walking at a fast pace in the hallway. A mere minute after, Ishida was showing up at the door. He was elegantly wearing a white outfit, which changed only a little bit from his Quincy attire. He also used some white make-up on his face, and he kind of looked like a ghost. He had with him a bag.

“I see,” he simply said. “Do not worry, Kuchiki-san. I will improve your look greatly.”

“I wonder,” muttered Ichigo, right behind him. He was all in black, except for his white shirt. He too had a white face, and some fake blood coming at the corner of his lips. “What are you playing tonight?” she inquired while Ishida was taking her measurements.

“Vampire. Keigo wanted us to play vampires, and since I couldn’t say no without having him bothering me for at least a month, it was less annoying to agree.”

She then noticed the fake fangs, and half-laughed. “Aren’t you a fine dandy vampire,” she grinned.

He gritted his teeth, and threw her a murderous look.

“I’ll do something for that too, it could be much better,” agreed Ishida, a mocking smirk on his lips. “For now…” he took a piece of dark purple fabric, and began to sew at an incredible speed. “Unfortunately, I can’t sew all the skirt… so we’ll have to make it up for this,” he explained.

One hour later, she was wearing a purple skirt, so big that it was laying around on the ground. There was a high-cut in the dress that showed nearly all her left thigh. She had, in the same time, got rid of the pompom at the bottom of the leotard, which was imitating a bunny tail.

Ishida hitched up his glasses in a precise motion. “It’s good, but now… we’ve got to make up the fact that it’s only half-sewed.” And, without any warning, he ripped the skirt in several places, up until her knees. He then added lots of black velvet ribbons with metallic beads and thin chains, to both the leotard and the skirt. “Isn’t that better?”

She inspected herself in the mirror. It had kind of a gothic look, as she reminded some mangas she read before. Perfect for Halloween. “Wow! It’s great! Thanks a lot Ishida,” she replied, smiling. “Now, all that is missing is the make-up.”

However, Ishida was handing other ribbons and chains to Ichigo. “Take that, Kurosaki, and put them on your costume.”

Ichigo looked stunned for a second. “You want me to put some freakin’ ribbons with beads? NO FREAKIN’ WAY!” he shouted.

“Why? It looks good! Besides, these are metallic beads, and the look would be different with those on your costume!” she instantly replied, taking a ribbon from Ishida and putting it on his jacket.

“Hey? What are you doing Rukia? HEY?” He was jigging, trying desperately to escape her.

“Look, it does look good,” she stated as a matter-of-fact, showing his reflection in the mirror.

“Jeez, you want me to put these on?” he asked, half-defeated. She nodded. He sighed and took what Ishida was giving him. “Alright,” he groaned, looking more pissed off than anything else.

“Good. Not that I’m not having fun here, but I must help Inoue-san now. See you, and don’t be late,” he said, beginning to walk away.

“Thank you Ishida!” she exclaimed, waving him goodbye.

She hadn’t let him any choice. Why must I always lose with her? She was now getting the make-up, and he suddenly wondered if she knew how to use it. “Want me to help?” he grumbled.

She shot him a death glare. “Do you imply that I don’t know how to use it?” she haughtily asked.

“I was just lending a hand, that’s all!” he shot back, stung. He went back to his room, feeling annoyed and bugged at the same time.

Ten minutes later, she entered in his room as well. He looked at her, and then laughed so much that he nearly fell off his bed. “THAT’S NOT FUNNY!” she cried.

She didn’t know how to use it, and some parts of her face looked like she had cemented it with some grey/white thing, while in other parts she didn’t put any. She also used too much fake blood, to mask her mistakes, which gave her a clown-like face. He regained –with lots of difficulties- his composure, and sat correctly on his bed. “So,” he said, “want me to help you?”

She bowed her head down. “Yeah,” she mumbled.

He grinned victoriously. “We’re going to wash your face first.”

Ten minutes later, to his great relief, he was finishing her make-up. Her face was way too close from his, and he would never do that again. It was way too much embarrassing, but he didn’t realise it before he really began to help her. And then it was too late to go back on his word.

“I didn’t know you knew something as girly as putting some make-up, Ichigo,” she mocked gently.

“Nothing like this, really,” he replied, annoyed. “I had to help my sisters for their first Halloween without my mother, that’s mainly how I learnt.”

“I see. Thank you,” she simply said.

That took him aback, as he was waiting for more digs. “You’re welcome.” She put the fake fangs they had found in his sisters’ room, and they were ready. “We’ve got to hurry”, he suddenly realised, “or we’ll be late!” He vaguely saw his sisters who were coming back in the kitchen, keeping their treasure in safety.

They hurriedly went outside, when Rukia spotted a group of children asking a neighbour “Treat or threat!” Then she looked up at him. “We’re not going to do the treat or threat? I wanted to try…” she inquired.

He half-laughed. “We’re –supposedly- seventeen, it’s a little bit too old for that. Keigo and Mizuiro wanted to take us somewhere, however they didn’t tell me where. I suppose I should be a little bit worried about that…”

However, they stopped at the first corner of the street. There was a spirit, of a young boy, who seemed to be crying. “Hey, what’s the matter?” he asked, even before thinking of sending him in Soul Society.

“I… wanted to… do the treat or threat trick once…” cried the soul.

His eyes meet Rukia’s. “If I allow you to come with me, and do it once, will you agree to be sent in the after-life world?” he inquired gently.

“But… they won’t see me!” protested the child.

“I’ve got an idea,” he replied. “Don’t worry, you’ll be seen. When she’ll open the door, ask it, okay?” The child nodded, his tears dissipating.

They walked back with him to his house, where he rang the bell. Karin opened it, quite surprised. “You forgot som… oh,” she said, seeing the ghost between them.

“Treat or threat!” the soul exclaimed.

Karin looked at him, puzzled, and then grinned. “Here,” she said, giving him a candy.

The child’s eyes shone, as a big grin invaded his face. “Thanks!” he exclaimed.

“Now’s the time for you to go where you belong,” stated Rukia, as they were in the nearest park they could find. “Ichigo,” she added softly.

“Yeah, I know,” he replied, taking out the shinigami badge Ukitake gave him. Once in his shinigami form, he smiled gently at the kid in front of him. “Don’t be afraid, and see you later, alright?” The child nodded, and he performed the soul burial perfectly, like he was used to.

“Why are you so soft tonight?” enquired Rukia, a brow perfectly arched.

“You know,” he said, returning to his body, “the Halloween night is the one when the spirits come back to Earth. More than a party, it was, ages ago, thought as a night when you had to be gentle to those spirits. Even if I know it is not true, isn’t it good to do what we can, for once, to please them?”

“So,” she replied, flippantly pointing something behind with her thumb, “you’re saying you want to help everyone there?”

Horrified, he suddenly realised that there were ten spirits floating around, big grins on their faces. “WHAT THE HELL?”

“Your fault,” stated Rukia. “Now, you ought to help them.”

“Crap,” he muttered darkly.

A few hours later, they were back. They finally never met up with the others –to Keigo’s disappointment, who tried to persuade them during ten minutes at the phone. Instead, they passed the whole night helping here and there every spirit who had a favour to ask, before performing soul burials. She was dead tired, and so was Ichigo.

“I’m off to bed,” she mumbled, satisfied at the idea of sleeping.

“Wait up!” Ichigo exclaimed, on the lowest voice possible.

It was late, and everybody was yet sleeping, she realised. “I’ll be silent, yeah, good-”

“Not that. You must take off the make-up first,” he pointed out, rolling his eyes up.

“Oh. Yeah.”

They didn’t have the strength to fight anymore over who would be the first to go to the bathroom, so they just ended up sharing it. It was a very weird feeling, almost as if…

“Are you angry?” she heard him ask.

She looked up at him, quite puzzled. “No, why should I?”

“Because finally, we didn’t meet up with the others. We hadn’t had a normal Halloween.”

“Yeah, but it was fun. Finding a love letter, conveying the last messages to the beloved, persuading a little girl that she had to live on, even without her father…” she was still thinking deeply, recalling all the wishes they granted. She never thought she could actually grant any wish, as a shinigami, but tonight proved her how wrong she was. “I think it was a really good night, overall. We can meet our friends all the time, but we can do that only tonight, can’t we?”

She saw him grin in a flash. He then had a weird look in his eyes, and, suddenly, he was closer and closer –until his lips met hers, his arms embracing her. UH? She wanted to punch him. How dared he? She wanted to scream. But she didn’t have any strength left. And when he deepened the kiss, she felt her cheeks burning. Maybe, just maybe, she didn’t want to scream and punch him so much. “Why?” she asked quizzically when he broke the kiss.

He turned his head, looking away –somehow ashamed? Confused? “Isn’t that obvious?” he asked back. Was that a blush on his cheeks?

She half-laughed. “Then it’s okay, I guess,” she replied, grinning. He didn’t say anything, but looked relieved.
A/N: I hesitated a long time before putting that kiss. I usually dislike kisses in the IchiRuki fics, but! Given the latest chapters in Bleach, and seeing how eager Ichigo is, I must say... that helps a lot to put some funky stuff like this. I hope you enjoyed, don't hesitate to review
