A/N: Merlin, I was bored, sue me. I’ve decided to make this sort of a collection of one-shots with various themes/pairings. This one happened to be Snape/James after being struck with inspiration.

Disclaimer: I never have owned Harry Potter and I never will. Property of J.K Rowling. This disclaimer stands for all one-shots featured.

“Hello Snivelly.”

Snape whirled around but all that faced him was a dark corridor. He knew that voice…

“Ah, what’s that matter, Snape? Scared?”

“Show yourself Potter!” yelled Snape, reaching for his wand.

James Potter smirked as he stepped out from his spot in the shadows. A dark smirk was gracing his pale features, round spectacles at the end of his nose. Raven locks spilled into his eyes, several sticking up in a very unruly fashion. James’ jade eyes flashed dangerously as he advanced on Snape.

Severus Snape backed away a few paces, moonlight shining upon his greasy raven locks. A hooked nose stood from his pale ominous face. Black eyes bore into James’ flashing dangerously.

“You going to hex me, Snivellus?” James cackled. “Don’t make me laugh.” The words were from his lips before Snape could do anything. “Petrificus Totalus!”

The lanky form of the Slytherin was bound as he hit the marble floor beneath him. His wand went clattering to the floor, rolling to the opposite wall and James towered over him, grinning in triumph.

Snape glared at the Potter boy above him, before his eyes became fearful.

James noticed this change in emotion and perked his ears.

Thump, thump, thump… “Where is they, my pretty? Show’ em to me.”

“Filch!” James cursed before giving one last look at Snape and diving into a broom cupboard.

Snape’s eyes froze on the corridor’s end. He wanted to move, make a break for it, but the charm still held him bound to the ground. The slytherin panicked.

“Someone’s out of bed…someones out here, my pretty. C’mon show Filch where they’re at…” The reply was a small yowl as red eyes shone through the darkness of the corridor.

James watched as Snape’s black orbs betrayed his feelings. He was scared…hurt…fuming. James tried to smile, failing miserably. Why wasn’t he happy? Snape was getting what he deserved. Snivellus was getting what he deserved. But as James continued to watch reality finally seemed to kick in and the weight of guilt forced its way into his mind.

Thump, thump, thump…closer the caretaker came…thump, thump, thump…a bit closer…

James growled and slipped from his hiding place. He spied Snape and hastily picked up the Slytherin’s wand, pocketing it. He then looked towards the one he had grown to hate and loathe through the 5 years they had been together. Pushing the thought from his mind, James grabbed a hold of Snape’s body, dragging him to the safe confines of the broom closet. There he hauled him in, shutting the door with a quick tap of his wand.

He could hear Filch now…just at the end of the corridor.

“Someone’s been here…a student.” sneered Filch. “But where’ve they gone?” James knew a giddy smile was plastered on the caretakers face and the mere thought made him retch.

Snape still stood motionless, pushed against the Gryffindor. He could feel James’ breath on his neck. He could smell the other boy’s scent, comprising of strawberries and vanilla. He could feel James’ arms held securely around his waist and heat rose into the Slytherin’s cheeks.

James looked down at the boy he held close. He could see the small droplets of grease that clinged to Snape’s raven hair. He could smell the boy’s fading shampoo (however regularly used) of cinnamon and pumpkin spice. A small smile crept across the Seeker’s lips which he quickly stopped, mentally smacking himself. This is Snivellus, you wench! You hate him! You loathe him.

The sound of Filch’s voice pulled him from his mental battle.

“I hears it, Mrs. Tibby, I hears someone…breathing.

James cursed, brushing his hand across Snape’s mouth. “Ssh…” he whispered, his mouth mere centimeters from Snape’s ear.

Snape’s eye twitched and a blush crept across his ashen cheeks. Why was James so close to him?

James pulled Snape closer to him, as he saw the outline of Filch’s shoes appear outside the door. While James’ hand lay on Snape’s mouth, the other held his wand, tightly.

Mrs. Tibby yowled scratching at the door of the broom cupboard. Snape’s eyes widened in fear, the effects of the spell wearing off. He began to squirm in James’ grasp.

James didn’t know what to do, and before he knew it, his mouth was pressed against Snape’s trying to muffle his soft protests.

The Slytherin balled his fist, beating at the Gryffindor’s chest. James caught the fist in his hand pressing it to Snape’s side as he worked the Invisibility cloak around them.

The door creaked open and the smell of Filch’s stale breath filled the cupboard. The graying caretaker pushed his head into the confined space, his beady eyes darting from box to box. “Where are ya!” he said, his voice taunting. “Come out; come out where ever you are…”

Snape murmured something incoherent before finally giving into James and becoming still.

The caretaker narrowed his eyes and a growl of frustration escaped his lips. He slammed the door shut making Snivellus jump. James caught him in his arms before he hit the ground, his eyes narrowed at the Slytherin as they heard the caretaker pad away, muttering under his breath.

Mrs. Tibby reluctantly followed, throwing reproachful glances at the door before rounding the corner and out of sight.

“Why can’t you stay still?” hissed James his glare boring into Snape’s eyes. Snape looked up at him and cringed slightly, a frustrated blush dusting his cheeks.

“I’m sorry.” He whispered, not meeting the Seekers’ eyes. Why wasn’t James letting go?

James’ eyes softened and he pressed a small hesitant kiss to the other boy’s forehead before setting him on the ground, outside the broom cupboard.

He himself walked out, thrusting the wand at Snape before turning and walking away, leaving a very confused Severus in his wake.

(A/N: Yes I know….crappy ending…I am pressed for endings ideas and time. Homework. Anyways, please tell me if you like it. Constructive crit. is deeply appreciated as well as a simple review. Review please?)
