A/N: Gahhh sorry 'bout the delay H.O And I don't even have a good excuse! -cries- It's a little short, but blame it on my writer's block. I'm not sure how to continue with this, but I do have an idea. And if everything goes according to that, well, this story is gonna be damn long.

Thanks to Crystaline-Crimson, Aoi-chan, Mika, twighlightangel61090, Mystery 100, Keba-kun, Thera90 and Ren-sensei for reviewing ! You guys are the best ;;.;;

Sell My Heart for Stones: Hold My Hand
--

If Haru had yesterday said his day had been very close to perfect, he couldn't find a word to describe the next day. He smiled to himself widely as he walked towards the main house, his hands stuffed into his pockets as he hummed happily. The day had started nicely, then there had been a little spat with Kyo but eventually they were in speaking terms again. He had made a bet with Yuki one day -- if he would be able to stick with Kyo a whole day, without getting beaten up -- and he even won it! He only had to tell it to the rat. Heh... But back to Kyo. The cat surely was confused about his behaviour, but well, he had confused himself too. Acting all hyper like that... Hell, he felt like a lovesick schoolgirl... and acted like one.

Oh man, he was so in love...

- the same morning -

"Haruuuuu, come on, we're gonna be late!" Momiji pounded on the ox's door, clutching his schoolbag against his chest. Haru sure had taken his sweet time that morning, and they were seriously going to be late from school. "Haru! Open the door!" And finally, the door opened, revealing a widely smiling Haru who stepped out of the room energetically. Momiji blinked a couple of times, and then peeked into the room. "What have you done to Haru? Where is he?"

"Oh, I'm not sure, I guess he's still sleeping!" Haru chirped and took the rabbit's arm. "Let us go to school, to learn and educate ourselves!"

Momiji stared at the ox in horror, his eyes wide and mouth open. "What's... gotten into you? You're never like that! You're not Haru!"

Haru stopped walking suddenly, causing the rabbit to bump into his back. He sighed deeply. "I just happened to have a very nice dream and..."

Momiji sweatdropped. "One wet dream and you're hyper like that? Cree-eeeepy..."

"OH! And it wasn't just a random dream! You know, I was at this place near Shigure's--"

"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT!" Momiji covered his ears with his hands tightly, running past the ox and out of the house. "Lalalala I'm not listening!"

Haru smiled. He had a feeling that the day would go rather nicely... He stuffed his hands into his pockets and followed after Momiji.

- at the school -

"Ah, Haru and Momiji-kun!" Tohru smiled and waved to the two.

"...What the hell's wrong with Haru?" Kyo grumbled as the ox and the rabbit approached them, the former greeting them all cheerfully.

Momiji sweatdropped. "Trust me. You don't want to know..."

Haru sighed dreamily. "This day is going to be wonderful, indeed," he glanced to Yuki briefly and grinned, then turned to smile to Kyo who frowned in return.

"What the hell are you talking about?"

"Oh, nothing!"

Kyo looked at him sceptically, but decided to shrug it off as the bell rang. He began to walk towards the building with the others, and Haru soon caught up with him. "...What do you want?" He asked grumpily. He was sure it was going to rain soon...

"Who said I wanted something?"

"Then fuck off."

"Nope, I want to be with you!" The ox said stubbornly.

"Oh, well then I was right. You actually did want something. But no, we have different classes, in case you didn't remember. I'm a year older than you," Kyo rolled his eyes and pushed past a few students to get away from the hyper ox.

"I know, but I still want to be with you," Haru held onto the older boy's arm, smiling as Kyo scowled at him. Nothing could ruin his day. They got a few odd glances to their direction, Haru holding Kyo's arm and all, but he ignored them as he prattled on about nothing in particular to the cat, who simply wanted to be left alone. "Oh! How was it with Ayame?" Haru then asked. "He's really a nice guy, but I think--"

"Haru!" Kyo yelled and wrenched his arm free. "Would you please shut up, your voice is annoying! Go talk to someone who actually wants to listen to you!" He snorted and walked away.

Haru stopped dead in his tracks. Had Kyo just yelled at him? Not an uncommon thing, really, but considering how much they had spent time together in the past few days... He watched the cat walk further from him with sad eyes. Yes, he had. And not only that, but he obviously didn't want to be with him... But! Time to make his plan to work! Yuki was so going to owe him...

Kyo stopped walking after realizing the ox wasn't clinging onto him anymore. Well, a big part must have been due to the fact that he had wrenched his arm out of the ox's grasp, but still. Haru could be very stubborn. He turned to look behind him, seeing Haru quite many steps behind, staring off into nothing. He sighed and walked back to the ox. "What are you waiting for?" He demanded, watching Haru firmly. "Huh? What the hell's your problem?"

Haru gave a slight shrug. "You... you're mad at me..." He whispered. "I... Didn't want to make you mad..."

Kyo frowned. "What?"

"You snapped at me."

"Yeah, so?" The cat snorted, rolling his eyes skywards. This guy was being a baby. Haru turned away from him, looking down to his shoes. "Haru...?" Kyo asked in confusion.

"Don't you... like me anymore?" The ox whispered, so quietly that Kyo had to lean towards him to hear the words.

"Uh... H-Haru... What... Are you talking about...?"

The ox shrugged again.

Kyo sighed, rubbing his temples. "Look, Haru, I'm gonna be late from class..." He looked to the sulking ox, rolled his eyes once again and took him by his hand. "Oh fine, come on already!"

"B-But..."

"I'm not mad at you okay? Just stop that damn pouting," he growled, dragging the now widely smiling Haru after him down the corridor. "There. That's your class. Don't get lost." He turned to go to the direction of his classroom, but Haru's voice stopped him again.

"Kyo."

"What now?"

"Thanks," Haru smiled, looked around in the corridor and pecked the cat's cheek quickly before going into the classroom.

Kyo was shocked. He stared after the ox with wide eyes for a while before a slight blush crept onto his cheeks. Shaking his head he went to find his own class. The day had sure begun weirdly...

- lunch break -

"Uh... Hi... Kyo..."

"Hm."

Haru swallowed, clutching his lunch box in his hands. It was a warm day so he wanted to eat outside, like the majority of the students. The only problem was that nobody wanted to eat with him... The freak. "Can I sit?"

"Sure."

He smiled faintly as he sat down next to the cat. Noticing Kyo had nothing to eat, Haru offered his lunch to him. Kyo merely stared at him. "Aren't you hungry, Kyo?"

The cat frowned deeply. "Excuse me?"

"I-I just asked if you were hungry..."

"Not that you moron," Kyo rolled his eyes. "What did you just call me?"

Haru blinked. "Uh... Kyo?"

"Yeah. Exactly," the cat stole a bite from Haru's lunch, munching on it as he lay down onto the grass. "No kitten this time, eh?"

"O-oh... that..." The ox looked down to his hands. "I was thinking that... you were mad at me, so I didn't want to irritate you even more..."

Kyo lifted his eyebrow. "Why are you here then?"

"I-I'm sorry, I can go away if you--"

"NO! I didn't mean it that way, you stupid cow!" Kyo sat back up to glare at him. "Really, look at yourself! What's wrong with you, you sound like Ritsu! Stop it okay? And don't call me by my name, it's freaky," he rolled his eyes and stole another rice ball from Haru.

"Umm..." Haru bit his lip. Yeah, so maybe he was being a little out of character, but he just wanted Kyo to like him... Oh, fine, so he wanted to win the bet he and Yuki had made, but that was just a bonus. "Are you... going straight home today?" He asked, finally starting to eat his lunch. Why was he feeling so nervous? It was ridiculous... It was just Kyo, right? Right...

"Nope, I've got detention."

"Again?"

"Yeah. The teachers hate me, but it's not like I liked them. So I guess the feeling's mutual," Kyo shrugged and turned to look at Haru. "Why'd you ask?"

Haru smiled a little. He was glad he could talk to Kyo like this, just idle chit-chat. Not always fighting... "Actually..." He was prepared for Kyo's reaction. "I've got detention, too."

The cat sat up in a flash. "What?! What did you do?"

"I just proved to your biology teacher that his theory was wrong. Nothing big..." He gave a slight shrug and lay down next to Kyo, his lunch box already empty, the food eaten by two starving schoolboys...

Kyo blinked. "Oh really..." He then shrugged and stood up. "The class is starting soon," he began to walk and turned to look at Haru over his shoulder. "You gonna come or not?"

"U-um, yeah!" Haru jumped up from the ground and caught up with him. He spotted Yuki further away, caught Kyo's arm and made a face at him. The rat merely rolled his eyes.

- after detention -

Haru bounced out of the class to catch up with Kyo. Who could have thought detention would actually be fun? "Kyooo wait for me!" He huffed as he once again took a hold of the cat's arm, only to be shrugged off. "Tch, fine, be that way!"

"Be what way, stupid cow?"

"I thought we already agreed that you'll stop calling me that," Haru frowned. "Why are you sulking?"

"Sulking? I'm not! Oh yeah, maybe I'll quit calling you a stupid cow and call you an ass-kisser instead."

"Oh! Is it because I was actually able to make a conversation with the teacher?" Haru asked, tilting his head to a side. "Besides, she is nice. Oh come on, Kitten, stop sulking."

Kyo turned to glare at him murderously. "If you ever call me that in public again...!"

Haru smiled. "Sorry..." He walked past Kyo and added: "Kitten."

"You're annoying," Kyo sneered, but continued to walk with the ox anyway. He had been acting all weird around him lately, and it made him feel sick. Sure, quite much everyone knew about Haru's 'crush' on him, but seriously. Haru acted like he actually cared. What a load of crap...

"Can I hold your hand?" Whoa, now where did that come from? Haru blushed a little when Kyo turned to look at him in great confusion. "U-Uh, well, you know, there's no one around and I thought that maybe... Um, well, no, I actually wasn't thinking," he bit his lip and turned away to hide the deepening of the red colour on his cheeks. Yes, he seriously hadn't been thinking when he had asked that...

Kyo merely stared at the ox for a while, a slight frown on his face. Haru had actually blushed? He shook his head and offered his hand to him. Haru turned to look at him and he shrugged.

Haru smiled and took Kyo's hand as they continued to walk together. He was so happy at the moment. Hell, he actually felt like kissing Kyo, but he held himself from doing that. He couldn't scare the cat away now when he had managed to get closer to him... He turned to smile to Kyo but the cat merely rolled his eyes.

Oh yes... He was so damn happy.
