Hehe… I’ve got writer’s block for The Rose, so I’m writing another songfic. It’s Miracle by Cascada. Storm x Tawny oneshot.

I stared at the sheet of rushing water that covered the entrance to the Cave of Rushing Water. Squirrelflight, Brambleclaw, and the others were out—all except for Stormfur. I felt anger pour over me. I had always liked Stormfur; liked him a lot. He had liked me too, I could tell, but since Brook had come along, he barely looked at me.

Gingerly, I got out of my down-padded nest and walked over to the entrance to the cave. For a little while I just looked at the moonlit water pouring down into the pool, until I heard a voice behind me.

“Hello, Tawnypelt,” Stormfur greeted. I glanced at him, but did not speak. “Is your shoulder better?” he asked.

Tersely, I replied, “Yes.” I couldn’t help but add, “Where’s Brook?”

“She had to go hunting,” Stormfur meowed.

“Why didn’t you go with her? You almost never leave her side,” I snapped. Stormfur looked hurt, and didn’t speak for a while after that.

Finally, he asked, “Tawnypelt? Is- is something wrong?”

I adopted a sarcastic tone. “No, nothing’s wrong at all.” I stalked back to my den, eyes narrowed.

Stormfur followed me. “Look, Tawnypelt, I just want to know why Brook bothers you so much.” I looked back and saw in his eyes that he wasn’t lying. However, I was too fired up to tell him the truth; that I lo— no! I shook my head to clear it of these thoughts. I was a ShadowClan warrior! I couldn’t have anything to do with him! He didn’t want me anyway!

Outside, rain was falling from clouds that had formed, and lightning streaked everywhere. I looked upward and just stayed that way for a while. I was getting soaked, but I didn’t care anymore. I just didn’t care. I ignored the cats rushing past me and stared at the clouds in utter misery.

Stormfur padded up behind me and murmured, “I love Brook, but I won’t forget you, ever. No come inside, you’re going to freeze out here.” He pressed against me and gently guided me into the Cave of Rushing Water.

I stared at him for a long time, and somehow, his words filled me with a strange sense of peace.

Did you like it? It was hard for me to capture their characters. I had this idea in my head ever since I heard the song, and it fits this pairing really well in my opinion. Anyway, review!
