Don’t yell at meee! I know I have plenty to update, but I really thought that this was a coolio idea! Oh dear cucumber I just said coolio...
Anyway, this is my first Gravitation fic, so I would greatly appreciate it if you would be a little easier on me! Also, if it’s not too much trouble, could you review and tell me what you did or didn’t like about the chapter or story? Then I can make it better for everyone:P
And, here we go!
“Yuuuuuuuuuukiiiiiii...” swooned Shuichi as he rubbed against his lover’s side, “You do know what day it is in two days right?”
Yuki barely paid attention to the young musician and gave the best answer he could think of “The apocalypse?”
Shuichi laughed and gave Yuki’s side a little hit. “No silly! It’s April 16th! It’s my birthday!”
The novelist glanced up at his cute little boyfriend and stared in confusion. How the hell was he supposed to know that? Shuichi had never told him about his birthday.
At least, not that he could remember, though that wasn’t the most reliable source when it came to Bad Luck’s lead singer. He gave his head a scratch and ruffled his hair a bit.
“So?” said Yuki. The only thing that he had expected to happen on April 16th was that he had a deadline. That’s why right now, he was sitting in front of his laptop, a cigarette in mouth, trying to get as much pf the manuscript done as he could.
Shuichi began to punch his lover as big rivers of tears began to flow down his face, “YUKIIII! WHY ARE YOU SO MEAN TO ME???”
“Whatever.” Said the author, not looking up from his work. “Happy Birthday! Are you happy?”
Shuichi took what he could get. “FINE! I’m going to bed.” Before leaving though, with an evil grin on his face, he went over to Yuki and gave a slight nibble on his ear, causing him to give out a small scream.
Shuichi laughed to himself and stuck his tongue out as he exited the room and headed off to the bedroom.
Yuki uttered a few curses about the boy before returning to his work.
Well, he tried at least.
Yuki was now having a hard time focusing on his manuscript, because right now all he could think about was Shuichi.
‘What the hell am I suppose to do about this? I mean, it’s his birthday for God’s sake...Maybe I could just be nice to him all day...’
Yuki gave a light laugh. He could barely be nice to Shuichi for more than two seconds, let alone a full twenty-four hours! He continued to think.
‘What does he really want?’
To be painfully honest, Yuki had absolutely no clue. As he struggled with this thought for a while, he barely noticed the fact the he had been subconsciously been typing ‘Shuichi’ on the keyboard multiple times.
He had filled up about half a page before he finally realized what he was doing and deleted them.
Over in the bedroom, Shuichi was dealing with problems of his own. He was lying under the covers clutching a pillow in his monster grip.
He couldn’t help but feel upset about what had just happened between him and Yuki. Not only this, but he was feeling a little abashed about this whole thing also.
I mean, what did he expect Yuki to do?
A small part of Shuichi had wanted Yuki to almost start panicking about what to get him. Shuichi was even hoping that Yuki would take him out on another date.
The young star bit the corner of his pillow. Maybe he was the one who was wrong?
‘Maybe I’m really being a burden to Yuki by expecting so much of him... After all, I can’t expect him to change just so that I can be happy...I guess that deadline is the most important thing in his life right now...’
Though he tried not to, Shuichi couldn’t help but start to silently cry. He didn’t want to, thinking that it would just make him like a spoiled brat who couldn’t catch up to the ice cream truck when it came down the block. It wasn’t that the ice cream truck didn’t like him, but it had other stops to make.
Shuichi would have to wait until it came back around later.
Against his will, he continued to cry until he fell asleep.
Meanwhile, back in the office, Yuki has regained most of his focus and was once again working on the manuscript. His thoughts still drifted back to Shuichi every once and a while, but he was getting better at setting those thoughts aside so that he could focus.
He quickly glanced down to the bottom right hand corner of his laptop and saw that the time was almost midnight. He turned back to his work and examined what he had accomplished.
He thought for a minute and determined that if he pulled an all nighter tonight, he would have to pull one more tomorrow, making him free on the 16th.
However, if he skipped the one tonight, he would have to spend all day tomorrow working on this thing just to meet the deadline. That left him no time to buy a gift...
He swore heavily under his breath. He knew that he had to finish this stupid thing, but there was a strong feeling inside of him that was telling him to go to bed, though he wasn’t sure why. He wasn’t even particularly tired.
He looked back at the bottom corner and saw it was now officially midnight. He glanced at his work again, then back to the clock. A heavy sigh escaped him as he saved his work and shut down the computer.
Yuki stood up from his desk and left the room, stopping by the bathroom first to wash his face.
The novelist exited the bathroom, wiping his face with a towel as he walked toward the bedroom at last.
He opened the door and looked in. He made his way inside, putting the towel on a nearby chair. When he reached the side of the bed, he could see that there was enough moonlight shining through the windows so that he could make out a very good view of the room.
Yuki couldn’t help but glance over to the boy he shared the bed. Shuichi was facing him, a calm look on his face. The novelist failed to suppress the blush that crawled up on his face as he watched the sleeping form of the boy.
‘What am I blushing for?’ he thought. He continued to look at Shuichi and noticed something strange.
The part of the pillow that Shuichi was sleeping on was dark.
He gently tried to touch the spot by Shuichi’s face, and it was just as he thought.
It was wet. Which meant that Shuichi had been crying.
While this was nothing new, this must have been serious, because the pillow was soaked.
He must have touched it a little bit more ruff than he had expected, because Shuichi’s eyes began to flutter open.
“Hmmm? Yuki? I thought you had to work all night...” he said in between yawns. He rubbed his eyes, though they were still droopy.
“Maybe I wanted to sleep. Why does it matter?” said Yuki in his normal cold fashion.
Despite the fact that Shuichi was still half asleep, he gave a lazy smile.
“It doesn’t...”
Then Shuichi snuggled back into the blankets and fell back asleep.
Yuki had forgotten to ask him about why he was crying. Could it have been that Yuki was so mean to him before? Was he really that hurt by it?
Yuki lifted the covers and crawled in, next to Shuichi. He hesitated for a while, before finally giving in to his judgment again and moved his arm under Shuichi’s head and brought him closer. He might as well do something to make him feel better, seeing as it was Yuki’s fault.
Plus, he’d never admit it, but he actually liked this.
Shuichi rubbed his head into Yuki’s chest, then quickly became motionless all over again.
Yuki smiled and closed his eyes. It really took so little to please the singer, and yet these things were some of the hardest things he’s ever had to do.
He fell asleep, head filled with thoughts of what to do about April 16th.
I know, a short first chapter, but I’m going to try and make the next one a little longer, Ok? Anyway, if you have any suggestions, please let me know!
