"It's been so long since we've had such high ranking guests as visitors. I hope you'll forgive me if the house is a bit messy..."

"Katara, after all we've been through, we're hardly just visitors," protested the Avatar as he seated himself on the couch next to Zuko.

"Yes, a little mess is refreshing after months of confinement in the palace," agreed the young Fire Lord. The two men looked around at the comfortable home, where little homemaking touches brightened almost all the walls and tables. Everything in this house was a reminder of the woman they had both loved.

"How is the world these days?" Katara asked eagerly, easing herself into a chair across from her friends. "I don't hear too much beyond the gossip at the local marketplace."

"Negotiations between the Earth Kingdom, Water Tribes and the Fire Nation are going well. It turns out that in addition to being a great inventor, your brother is a good diplomat, too," Zuko answered with a wry grin.

"People are finally starting to realize that it's okay to be friends with people from other Nations. Fewer and fewer radicals are causing fights, so my job is getting easier." Aang added. He scratched the top of his bald head bashfully as he continued. "Well, that part of my job, anyway. I'm still the last Airbender, after all."

The three laughed. Aang was well known throughout the Nations for being single, even though his very position as Avatar (not to mention at nineteen, his handsome appearance) he had countless hordes of girls throwing themselves at his feet.

"Don't worry, Aang. You'll find the right somebody, eventually." Zuko himself was going to be ending his long engagement within the year to his betrothed, Mai.

"It might sound silly now," Katara said, looking to the ceiling as she remembered. "But I always thought I'd end up marrying you, Aang."

"Really," the Avatar asked, his voice disbelieving. Despite the years of disappointment, his heart beat faster, though he tried to ignore it. He was still single, she was not. He'd do well to remember that.

"Yeah. I used to daydream about little Airbending babies...but then the whole mess with Zuko in that cave happened, and things just got so uncomfortable between us all..." She didn't seem to notice that both the Avatar and the Fire Lord were shifting uncomfortably on the couch in front of her.

"Well, I'm just glad that things settled down. I'm just lucky, I guess, to have found the right one for me." She rested a hand on her slightly swollen belly and smiled at them both.

"Where is he?" Zuko asked, trying to clear the air. "Your husband, I mean. I saw him when we came in, but..."

"Oh, he's making tea for us all," Katara answered brightly. "He has his own special blend."

As if in response, Katara's husband entered the room, balancing four cups on a tray. The tea was a sickly green color that reflected the way the two visitors felt as the Earth Kingdom man sat down next to his wife and she tugged affectionately on his goatee.

"Well, drink up!" he instructed, bringing a cup to his own lips and sipping it blissfully. "I made it out of cabbages I grew myself"

-o-Aahh…Kantu…I’m so sorry!! Lol, the idea of Katabage has been plaguing me forever, even if I believe that Cabbage Man is married to my OC Beru. Glad you stuck in ‘til the end! If you love me, you’ll review! Or, y’know, just review for the heck of it. Thanks!-o-
