“AWWWGGGGG!” Isis screamed in pain as Lhikan blade pierced her chest. Lhikan smirked and pulled it out, Isis, Toa Itami of Destruction, fell to her knees, her emerald green eyes glazed over in agony. She fell to her side, blood spurting past her soft pink lips that were covered by her mask.

“ISIS!” Typhon, Toa Itami of Shadow screamed. The present Toa Mahi stepped back in surprise as Typhon launched himself at the crumpled form of Isis. He pulled her into his lap, and pulled of her mask. A long black sheet of hair fell down as her mask was tossed unceremoniously aside. He ran his hands down her face, “Isis? Sweetie? Baby, talk to me, please!” His tears fell on the youngest Toa Itami’s face, mingling with her blood. Oh Mata-Nui, the blood, there was so much of it. “Typhon…” Isis choked, “I…l-love you…”

Lhikan was ready to fall over from shock. Who ever heard of a Toa Itami being capable of love and compassion?

a world of fragile things

look for me in the white forest

hiding in a hollow tree (come find me)

Typhon’s eyes shot down to the Toa Itami of Destruction’s lower abdomen. “The baby?” he whispered in worry. Isis closed her eyes searing her conscious for any sign of life. “She’s alive…” Isis whispered softly. “What do I need to do to save you guys?” Typhon asked. Tears flowed freely from her eyes. She put her hand on Typhon’s cheek. “I don’t think th-that there’s anything you can do.” She said shakily. “I’m sorry I couldn’t save you…” Typhon sobbed rocking his girlfriend back and forth.

Raura turned to Lhikan. “We have to help her.” Lhikan looked at the Toa of Crystal as if she’d grown a second head. “Are you nuts? She’s an Itami!”

Raura glared at Lhikan. “Itami or not I will not stand by and watch an innocent child die!” Lhikan stared at her and blinked. Furious Raura back-slapped him. “Weren’t you listening?! She’s pregnant! Do I need to spell it out for you?” Lhikan sighed. “Alright…”

closing your eyes to disappear

you pray your dreams will leave you here

but still you wake and know the truth

no one's there

Typhon looked up in surprise as the Toa named Raura hurried over and bent down next to Isis. Her eyes raised slowly to meet his, “I have the ability to save your child’s life, but if I do so you must promise to speak of this to no one, and the Toa Mahi get custody of the child.” Typhon mentally fought a battle with himself. ‘But I’ll never get to see her. Should I accept? Is it what’s best for my daughter?’

Isis tapped Typhon gently. He looked down at the love of his life. “Do it.” She ordered weakly. Typhon looked up at Raura and nodded. “OK.”

An hour or so later, Isis had her daughter and been left to die the Toa of Shadow at her side. Typhon as the last bits of life slipped away from her body. Typhon clung to her sobbing hysterically. “Danielle…Jade…Itami…” the dying Toa whispered. “Yeah, she’s beautiful.” Typhon said softly, referring to his newborn daughter he had only been able to see for a minute or so. Isis nodded, then she smiled. “I’ll be waiting…I’ll love you Typhon Itami…”

“Forever and for always…” Typhon finished crying as Isis Itami released her last breath.
