I don't own any of these characters. This was a short one-off bouncing around my head that came up while I worked on some of my other outstanding projects.
"What?"
"I'm pregnant," Ginny repeated.
Harry just stared at her for a second. He worked his mouth soundlessly, trying to work some moisture back into his inexplicably dry mouth. He swallowed a few times.
"How? I mean…" He trailed off.
"You know very damn well how it happened, Harry. I can't believe I let you talk me into it."
"You jumped me Ginny. It was right after the fifth Horucrux, if I remember. I got hurt real bad and you had to take off my clothes to get to the wounds."
"I don't regret it. I just don't know what to do."
"Me either."
They stared at each other for a while, neither moving. Harry scrubbed his hands through his hair. "You said the charm that Jordan showed you a charm was supposed to prevent this."
"Well either he was lying of we goofed. It doesn't really matter. The question is what are you going to do about it, Harry James Potter?"
Harry closed his eyes and sighed. "When did you find out?"
Ginny nervously wrapped her arms around herself. "Last week. I missed two periods in a row, and Hermione showed me the detection charm."
Harry blinked. "Are you sure?"
"I went into St. Mungo's. They confirmed it."
"Is it mine?"
Ginny slapped him. Hard. "Of course it is, you prat."
Harry rubbed his jaw and winced. When he looked at her again and saw the barely restrained tears welling up in her eyes, his heart sank. He reached out and pulled her into a fierce hug. She immediately started to cry.
"Ginny, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it." He held her as she cried herself out. After awhile the sobbing began to slow. She pulled back from his embrace and looked at him, her eyes blood shot and face streaked with tears.
"Hermione showed you the charm?"
Ginny nodded. Harry groaned. "Great. This means Ron and the rest of your family will know soon, too."
"My mum is going to kill me. I'm only 16! I don't want a kid. I'm not ready for one yet."
Harry nodded. "Neither do it. I'm more worried about Voldemort than your mum, though. He really will kill you if he finds out, just so he can get to me."
Ginny looked up at him and her eyes changed color. Her pupils elongated until they looked like a viper's eyes and her nose began to shrink until it the nostrils looked like slits.
"I already know, Potter."
"What was it mate?" Ron asked.
Harry just shook his head and flopped back onto the makeshift bed he had fallen asleep in.
"Just a bad dream. Voldemort was just messing around in my head again, the wanker."
This got a grim smile from his two best friends. "Go back to sleep, Harry." Ron patted his shoulder and crawled back to the pallet he shared on the floor with Hermione. She kissed his forehead and gave him a quick hug.
"Sleep well, Harry. Just one more Horucrux and this is all over."
"Except for that whole 'I have to kill Voldemort' thing, right?"
She shrugged and gave a rueful grin. "Yeah, except for that."
"Night, Hermione."
"Good night."
Hermione let the light die from the end of her wand and the darkness leapt back into the room, and soon sleep claimed all three occupants once again.
