‘Satoshi?’ Daisuke clicked hesitantly and finding no response of any kind, he slid on noiseless feet into the darkened room and winced at the soft jangling accompanying his movements. Stupid zippers and chains. Why the hell were they there?

Heaving a sigh, he shuffled towards the unmoving lump on the bed. Hadn’t he done this before?

A sense of deja vu crept up his spine and he unexpectedly answered his own question. His cheeks warmed at the memory and a displeased scowl appeared on his normally placid face. Yes, it was because of that stupid incident that had landed him in this – he looked down at himself and could only think of two words, Goth whore – situation. He had gone from being in pyjamas to looking like a rent boy. He was going to kill Dark in the most painful and humiliating way possible when the day was over. Daisuke cursed himself, damn him and having to be nice and paying back owed favours and the like.

Damn Dark for remembering the stupid punishment thing! Daisuke really didn’t want to be in Satoshi's room and dressed like this, but Dark had refused to check up on their flatmate and Daisuke himself was becoming concerned when Satoshi hadn't emerged from his room. It was nearing midday, and the blue-haired teen was usually up around eight. His mind had supplied that maybe his flatmate was sick, and Daisuke thought it would better if someone checked to be sure.

He tugged viciously at the back mesh top, hoping it rips and then quickly taking that thought back. No, Dark would most likely be happy that this new development if it happened. Daisuke sighed in despair, he was living with a pervert. How did that happen?

Stepping cautiously forward, he swallowed his nervously. Satoshi wasn't Dark so he should be safe from being flipped onto the bed. Hopefully...

He reached the bed and stretched his hand out to shake the unmoving form, but ended up gasping in shock when his foot caught on something. Body tipping forward, Daisuke braced himself for the landing and instead of smushing his face into the soft duvet and Satoshi’s stomach Daisuke found himself once again being flipped over onto his back judo style. His breath left him in a silent whoosh.

Disorientated and struggling to relearn the fine art of breathing, Daisuke was startled to find someone looming over him. Confusion gave way to fear as a hand clamped harshly around his neck. The fierce expression hovering so close to his face pinned him to the spot, and for an instant, the memory of steely gold eyes and soft blonde hair brushing his cheek flickered. And his breath left him once more.

---

“Daisuke?” Satoshi whispered groggily.

His mind pushed the last remnants of sleep away, and he quickly snatched his hand away from Daisuke’s neck. The knife he had been gripping was hastily tucked back into its hidden spot, and he waited for some sort of response from the redhead. When there was none, he repeated Daisuke’s name and gritted his teeth against the pain lancing up his back. Last night’s hunt had been successful, but unfortunately for him, he didn’t come out unscathed. Pushing the pain to the back of his mind, he concentrated on Daisuke instead.

“Daisuke?”

Unseeing eyes fixed themselves onto his face and Satoshi frowned. He couldn’t have scared Daisuke that badly, but judging from the haunted look on Daisuke’s face the youth wasn't seeing him at all.

“Daisuke,” he tried again, and shook the other's shoulders for good measure.

And ever so slowly, Daisuke's attention focused back on Satoshi and the hunted expression ebbed away. It was a relief, to say the least, but it still unnerved Satoshi how scared the redhead had been a few minutes ago. What had Daisuke remembered?

However, instead of asking, he shifted to sit back and bit back a groan of pain when his fingers caught on net-like material. Was Daisuke wearing mesh?

“What were you doing?”

‘It’s nearly midday and you weren’t awake. I was worried,’ Daisuke replied awkwardly, trying not to draw attention to himself but failing miserably.

Satoshi blinked, and ran a hand through his mussed hair. Midday, already? How long had he been asleep for? A better question would be if he could get back to sleep now? The answer was definitely yes. Of course he could. His body was begging for it, but he couldn’t. Daisuke would think something was wrong, and he wasn’t going to spend hours trying to explain to the boy just what he was and all the other little details that went with it. But his body protested regardless, and he was glad the room was dark. He was sure he looked great with dozens of bruises running up and down his body. Bloody Vampires.

“Well aren’t you two getting comfortable?”

“Speak of the devil,” Satoshi mumbled under his breath.

He ignored the confused look Daisuke gave him and grimaced. It’s too early for this kind of shit, and it's definitely too early for the pain... Not bothering to look at the seething Vampire, he gingerly scooted to the side of the bed and watched in mild amusement when Daisuke scuttled back against the headboard.

---

He scolded himself for letting Daisuke go check on Hiwatari, but judging by the look of things, it wasn't such a bad idea. Dark watched Satoshi’s pained movements and smirked. The cold bastard deserved the pain for trying to jump hisDaisuke, Dark’s mind jeered. Trying to get into Daisuke’s pants was his job, and no one was about to steal it. Sauntering into the room, he immediately opened the curtains despite Satoshi’s and Daisuke’s objection.

When every nook and cranny was saturated with light, Dark turned and almost burst into laughter at the sight of Daisuke hiding himself behind his drawn up knees. He gave the boy some credit for trying to hide the horrendous blush, but Daisuke’s ears matched his hair and it was never a good idea to curl into a ball while wearing skin-tight leather pants. Although, Dark couldn't really complain.

“If you both don’t mind leaving so I could change,” Satoshi said, focussing his attention solely on Dark and refusing to stare at what Daisuke was wearing.

The Vampire watched in silent amusement as Daisuke's head shot up and uncurl himself. The boy was about to hurl himself off the bed when his eyes landed on Satoshi’s hunched form.

Dark smirked when the Hunter squirmed slightly under the red-head's scrutiny.

‘How did you get those bruises?’ Daisuke asked in concern.

Daisuke, for his part, had completely forgotten about his rather risqué get up and crawled cat-like towards an unmoving Satoshi.

Dark briefly wandered if the redhead knew just how very seductive he looked and smiled serenely when a thousand indecent thoughts whizzed through his mind. Oh yes, he needed to find more excuses to stuff Daisuke into those clothes.

Reaching out a hesitant hand, Daisuke lightly touched an ugly purple splotch on a pale shoulder. He pulled back and winced apologetically when Satoshi flinched away in pain.

‘How did you get them?’ Daisuke repeated.

Satoshi shook his head. “It’s nothing. Don’t worry about it.”

‘But – ’

“Daisuke, Hiwatari said he’s fine. I’m sure he can take care of himself,” Dark said, not at all liking Daisuke playing nurse while dressed like that. The redhead was wearing it for his benefit not the Hunter's. Dark never did learn to share.

He cast a nasty glare in Satoshi’s direction, and received an equally annoyed glance from the blue-haired boy. Deciding that this was as good a time as any to whisk Daisuke away, he looped an arm around the red-head's torso.

“Come on, Dai-chan. I know the bruised and exposed flesh is very tempting,” Dark drawled, causing the long abated flush to reappear. “But you need to stop gawking, and let Satoshi dress,” he clucked, and threw a thrashing Daisuke onto his shoulder.
