Siege Drabble

Summary: Double drabble. Takes place after the Daedalus comes to the rescue, beginning of Seige 3. Weir POV.

We'd won. I couldn't believe we'd won. But at what cost. I looked around the control room and tried not to think of all the faces I would never see again or all the bodies I would be shipping back to Earth for a hero's funeral, for a war no one knew about. I knew there were going to be more tombstones than bodies, many of the soldiers having been beamed away by the wraith.

Caldwell's team beamed into the gate room.

"Secure Stargate operations," a familiar voice told the marines. They hurried away and left John standing there. I watched him look around and say, "I'm home."

Yes, you are, I thought as I walked to him. He tried to say something, but stopped when I stood on my tiptoes and hugged him tightly. Oh god, he's really here, he's really real. A big part of my family here on Atlantis. I loved John. I didn't know if it was just familial love or romantic and right now I didn't care. I was just glad he wasn't going to be one of those tombstones.
